almost every day on Seradon there are a dozens of folks that are either returning to VG or are totally new players. I see low levels LFG's and have never had a hard time finding a group when I needed to.
I agree that VG is a grower, for a while it was a game that I hated to love, I left and then recently came back after a newly released MMO didn't quit pan out for me. Now after GU5 it is a game that I love to love (runs a heck of a lot better for me now).
anyways welcome aboard and enjoy your travels in Telon. |

I actually have two computers one that I play on and that my wife uses. Mine has a 512mb 8800gt and I have never had a single issue playing the game (other than crashing when I exit the client) my wife on the other hand has a 7950gt and the game worked through open beta and all day on the first day of EA. when the sunday may 18th patch went live her computer started having all sorts of crashing issues. sometimes the game will run for half an hour without crashing and some times as soon as her character takes a step or moves the camera the game crashes.
She has little patience for trouble shooting and has already given up even trying to play the game but every time funcom releases a patch or update I will log in to see if there has been any improvement. As of todays update the client still crashes as before. the only thing that has changed recently is that at first the client crash (more like a total lock up) would have completely locked up the entire computer requiring a hard restart (via the power button) but lately when the client crashes I can control-alt-delete and just shut down the game.
I will keep trying until our free game time runs out hoping that they fix it somehow I really wanted to play the game at least until I got one toon to lvl80.
-edit oh yeah I have been living on the official forums and it appears that every time a new patch is released a new person comes on posting about a similar issue. just fyi. |

I will quit playing once my 30 days are over. I loved the game in OB and EA but once I got out of Tortage I got to see how empty the game was that and they hosed the game for my wife since the may 18th EA patch.
the quests aren't very challenging, it is very easy to level and solo, the gear sucks and the tech support and customer service are the worst I have ever seen in a MMOG, utter garbage.
I do love the combat and the graphics, I like how they put out a mature (take it for what you will) game and for mainly that reason I hope they get their act together and succeed so other companies will produce mature titles.
no matter what I still have my CE discs and if they improve their game and support I can always come back. to everyone that enjoys the game keep fighting the good fight and as long as you are having fun it doesn't really matter what I or anyone else says.

we will all see how good of a job funcom does in about six months.
they have a fun game but they over hyped a lot of features that didn't quite pan out. their tech support and customer service is garbage but their game sure does look pretty. my wife and I were in OB and EA and the game ran pretty well for both of us until last sunday. it still runs great for me but crashes constantly for her when it ran just fine the day before, and if her computer can run VG at mostly high settings it should be able to run this (ohh wait it used to).
my opinion (and that's all it is) funcom was pressured to release their game in an unfinished state by its investors, that had stalled as much as they could. It is a sad fact that most companies will release an unfinished product to make money for further development instead of releasing a finished product. they need to be very careful with this approach anyone who can recall VG's launch knows all too well how it can play out. again only time will tell now. |

you have a low end gaming system. the 1100 (correct me if I am wrong) is an integrated (shares with your system memory) graphics card. I am honestly surprised that it will even boot the game.
the ati xpress 1100 is slightly above intel's GMA 900 but below the GMA 950. you should be able to run WOW or LoTRO at low settings at about 20-30 fps. I used to use my laptop with an intel GMA 950 to play these games from time to time when I traveled. I tried playing Tabula Rasa on it and...... not so much. I am mentioning this to give you an idea of where you stand with your set up.
the only way to make AoC run better is to put it on a computer with a dedicated graphics card.
the minimum requirements for AoC calls for a dedicated 128mb ati 9800 or nvidia 6800. |

if you check out the official forums you will see that a lot of people are having issues with crashing every few seconds/minutes. a ton of those people have amd processors and some have intel(like my wife's pc). I would recommend trying the fixes others have posted but if for some reason they do not work ,and your pc is above recommended specs know that you are not alone, random crashing is an issue that funcom has yet to admit; most signs point to a memory leak but I am not a programmer so who knows.
and in case you have missed many of my other posts my wife has a pc with
windows XP pro intel core 2 duo 2.20ghz 3gb 800mhz ram nvidia 7950gt 512mb 7200rpm hard drive and the game worked just fine at medium settings before the update on sunday may 18th (40-60fps depending on the area). since then it crashes every few seconds/minutes/hours or whenever it wants to.

it is still instanced after 20. every zone, every town, every place that you go to is instanced. not hating just telling the truth.
-edit
and I'm not talking about zones I'm talking about instances which limit the amount of players in a given area. it is instanced with a limit to the number of players in each instance. |

the community sucks pretty bad so far way worse than WOW ever was for me. also I had an easier time finding a group in Vanguard than this game. if you have the game go take a look at the official forums and you'll get a good idea of how immature everyone is. It makes me love my MMORPG.com buddies even more.
/emo moment *I love you guys*
ok enough.
plus "go back to WOW" (or any variation of it) is no longer an insult, it has been done and then some the horse is dead. if you have read the official forums (and sometimes this one) you'll catch my drift. |

edit- AoC's graphics kick the crap out of LoTRO's without dx10 and I can't even max everything out in AoC and I can in LoTRO. |

I have a 8800gt and 3gbs of ram as well as a q6600 and I can run it at mostly high settings at about 50-60 fps. but I only spent about a grand on my system and didn't expect to run it on max settings (and I can not run it very well at all totally maxed out). If you want to run the newest games at the highest settings you will need a much higher end pc. hate to sound mean but a fact is a fact. turn your settings down a bit it still looks awesome. if you want the highest settings get ready to spend about three grand. |
