Population imbalance.... has been cured!!!!

It might be a different story once everyone is guilded up and organized but they seemed to just be one big cluster stepping over each other with no plan. |

Originally posted by BlackWatch It's a soft cap queue so the each time for login should not be more then then a few minutes. The alt limit is going to be 10 so you can have one of each type for your faction. Cross faction play is not going to be allowed after beta on servers. So once you build your main that's your faction for that server. Your plan will not work because the cap is only restricting logins of a individuals at that time you can have as many alts as you like up to 10 on each server. AFK won't work as the have an inactivity timer on the game. |

Link stating that we can change our heads to CE heads after head start?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 8/28/08 10:06:43 AM
They have stated from head start on the CE items will be active through the grace period on the CE beta key. You will need to enter a retail CE key into your account in order to keep your items before the grace period expires or loose your in-game stuff. At least that is my understanding. Nothing carries over from open beta to head start. I believe the grace period is going to be 5 to 10 days before a retail key is required. |

I think in the terms of the game they are going for true sir name as being awarded. Such as TrollSlayer Hammerfist, Doomcrusher, Dwarfsbane. etc. I have not seen if they will add any kind of buff or just for fun. |

Will WAR have the normal MMO aspects along with the RVR?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 8/27/08 9:25:01 AM
Yeah it's a totally a random matrix I believe your ranking gives you a slight mod on your roll but mainly just helps determine your end PQ award points. I have come into several PQ's mid way and gotten 2nd or 3rd on the roll, and if you play them 2 or 3 times you can max out your points anyway to cash out and get your high lvl PQ items. I think its great that the roll system adds some luck into the mix gives everyone a fair shot. |

Necessity of tanks and enough tanks to go around?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 8/26/08 10:52:34 PM
BO’s are not over powered I was able to take them 1v1 with no healers in the mix about 60% of the time as an Iron Breaker. But if you start backing either with a couple of healers it can get down right nasty. So the short of it is he who has the most competent healers is going to take the fight most of the time. |

They have stated that there will not be player housing but guild halls that are suppose to be meeting places and personal vault storage system. From what I've seen on other threads the Guild hall are suppose to be pretty nice. Hopefully they will add a "living" feature for them so they improve as the guild levels up. |

WHY I WILL NOT BE PLAYING STAR TREK ONLINE!
General Discussion « Star Trek Online 8/26/08 3:51:08 PM
I think the larger fear for most people is that by making the game console they will dumb down the UI to accommodate for controllers only and have limited keyboard functionality making it a glorified arcade game. |

So far as I know Failcom have said they won't be giving anymore sub numbers out ever again... Still another month until those 3 month subs run out and another 4 months until the 6 month subs run out!
So the real figures relating to how many ACTIVE (i.e. still actually logging in) subs they have / will have really can't be gleaned until January next year.
This sounds about right. But I do believe they only have 150k to 200K active players right now. So technically they can say 400 subs. but it will end up being deminishing returns after the first 6 months and the books will look like hell once all the closed sub drop out. |

Well I am a gamer also and my needs should be met as well. Just because a few people can't handle PVP against big boys does not mean that they should have a system like this. If you cant see whats wrong with system then I guess you will be one of the 25k subs left after the first 2 months. You don't sound like a gamer to me. Why don't you let everyone know what server you will be on and we all take turns seeing how much game you got in a fair fight. |

Mark Jacobs post about Preview Weekend

The game architecture is done everything he discussed in his note is nothing more then bug fixes. Especially if something was fixed and then they broke it in an update the just need to do a roll back and revise the the code. I'm sure they were reproducing and patching errors in the internal lab close to real time as possible all this weekend, once they have the fix then it will roll through the QA process and go on to the Elder test servers to see that it fixes the issues with out breaking anything else. Worst case since I image retail code is going to ship in the next day or so to the manufacturer they will have a large patch on game day to get any fixes in that did not make it into the release build.

Confused.. must pre-order and purchase to get into OPEN beta?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 8/25/08 2:13:14 PM
I put this quick chart together so it might help some people under stand in general what a testing process is: Chart of how testing is done in most cases: Alpha Testing = Internal company employee's and my include friends and family members of employee's under NDA. Beta Testing (Closed) = All of the above and selected public players that meet the internal defined testing requirements and under NDA. Beta Testing (Open) = All of the above and a larger player base invited to test specifc aspects of the game and stress test. Traditionally the NDA is lifted by then hence the term OPEN. Preview Play = Most often Promotional invites that the genernal public can have access to the game for a period of time through site registration or contests. Free Demo = Normally buddy passes given out 3 to 6 months after release or with a retail purchase of the game or contest prize. It is seldom if ever that you will see any preleases of a game open to the world for download unless it is free play. |
