Ok hang on guys at first I was pissed as everyone but thinking about it how hard was it to get a 40 man raid going in WOW it could take days sometimes even with high server pops. In this situation they are imposing a certain rule set that drives the player base to the end goal. Also if they do the rotation system correctly they can structure a reward systems stat wise for benefits the whole point is to have a good reason to take the hill and a better reason to defend it once you got it. This system should if executed correctly should make for some outstanding large battles. They just need to make sure they have the back-end to support the populations for such battles that is what worries me more then anything else if they can't handle the loads then all the cap cities in the world won't matter. Some people may blast me for saying this but this is Warhammer first and for most and more in line with war hammer campaign rules . Functionally this works in-line with how Fantasy campaigns work as long as over time they continue to refine and add the content. I would suggest people not familiar with the WAR lore check out the Games workshop site that will give interested parties more background on what this game should end up being which is Fighting, skirmishing and Large Campaigns. |

Well one IP being given over to a sucky developer. Pretty sad for DC don't they do any in-depth research. It sound like they are just pushing this for X360 and the PC side will be an after thought. |

Video demonstrating massive WAR RVR battles revealed at E3
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 7/15/08 2:25:44 PM
All look at both links on the OP first. Then make comments it seems they have come a long way on the animations between the 1st and the 2nd. And keep in mind they are still more then likely have not running the full rez code in beta and optimiized. If they can keep the arfea lag out at least RVR should be pretty good. |

Mythic explains RvR with 2 captial cities
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 7/14/08 2:22:05 PM
If everyone would start looking at this as phased approach to the game I think it would be better received. I have been waiting for this game along with everyone else for years. And RVR phasing in the other capital cities over time I think now is the best approach. I am disappointed with the character drops but as long as they keep working on them or something equivalent to what they had planned for each race I'll be in it for the long haul. I beta tested Planetside years ago and they gave allot of promises during development and drop about 40% of the game content by over reaching. So they ended up with a sub pare MMO that has scraped along all this time. In the end what caused them to fail even though the battles were huge at the beginning was giving everyone a reason to stay and feel vested in what your faction was doing. Mythic has stumbled on this and may have overreached a bit to have everything ready for release but they are making a RVR game that I think people will be able to feel apart of and if they look at PS as an example of what NOT!!! to do and with in a reasonable time get the rest of the promised functionality in game 6 months after release people be just bitching about the normal stuff that goes with any MMO.

The main issue I have is if their are anymore delays. This would be the 3rd if they end up doing it again. Mythic is a solid company and Mark is being a straight shooter on this which is good, but dev time on this surpasses LOTRO so i would expect at least a smooth game launch this fall to get players started. With the amount of beta hours expended on closed they should have things well it hand to get a release going. having a GREAT game is no good if you never get to play it. As to the class drops thats fine as long as they add something back into replace them later which I am sure they will. They have plenty more races to add in expansions overtime. |

wow man over 30,000 diablo fans digruntled and petition diable III /moved
Off-Topic Discussion « General Discussion 7/12/08 11:35:07 PM
Well the market for this game is not really for the youngers in my opinion, hell My dad is a Diablo fanatic and he's 74 any change in III might be a pretty big detractor for allot of people, 30k for a petition is nothing to sneeze at. Statically that 30K could represent over 100K in disgruntled fan's especially since the announcement is fairly new and it seems the petition got a base pretty fast. As for myself I prefer the darker style of the game as it made it different from the original Warcraft an Starcraft. If anything they should be trying to capitalize on the titles darkness not lighten it up. |

30 mins of work left... Speculate exact release date for WAR
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 7/10/08 7:15:31 PM
Well I think open beta will start around the 1st part of September with a ship date by the end of the month. Best guess servers live by the 5th of October. Going to PAX next month and they are listed as having a booth so i hope they will have some loot codes for attendees. |

I just got to 50 with vary little grinding and I normally dump gray quests. Even when I did clear some they have very little xp to be worth the effort. Over all they do have some lead in holes for quests in the mid 40's but map checking for zone lvls got me to the NPC's I needed to keep moving up. Hopefully 50 to 60 will be a bit more streamlined for quests.
