You mean how the system requirements are the complete opposite of AoC? In that nearly anyone should be able to run this game? |

For me it would be either Anarchy Online or WoW. I still love AO years after having stopped playing it. |

You guys really hate alot, lol. But here we go, what game between EVE and WoW, Aion to enjoy?
LFGame « General Discussion 6/24/10 11:02:53 AM
Ligerio, first I'm curious what games either single player or MMO you've played in the past and enjoyed. Knowing this would help me to make an informed decision regarding which of those three you'd enjoy. Personally from my own experience I've played EVE and WoW both for long periods of time now. Aion though I've never tried and at the moment don't really have any desire to do so (a number of WoW friends did try it though and all came back to WoW after a month or two). Sure Aion looks like a nice pretty game but honestly thats really all it appears to have going for it is some nice updated graphics over WoW. If you're looking for a game that is still going strong, will continue going strong with a devoted community and a plethora of websites, utilities, and media tied to it I'd say go with WoW. Theres a reason a hundred and one games are called "WoW Clones", its because every modern day MMO copies WoW as much as possible in an effort to simulate the recipe for success that is Warcraft. Granted it is by no means a perfect game; but if you're looking for a standard fantasy-esque (I say esque as it incorporates steampunk, sci-fi, horror, etc. elements into it ) then Warcraft is by far the winner of the three you mentioned. Now if what you want is something very open ended where you really have a massive chance to change your game world. Where you the player actually are important in the game world itself, where you do literally spend all of your time within your ship, and where death and choices have real consequences then I'd say go with EVE. Be warned though EVE is by no means every persons cup of tea as it does require a very specific mind set to enjoy. You will be dealing with a massive learning curve and at times a less than helpful community. Granted the WoW community isn't always the best but the learning curve also isn't nearly as steep so you can figure most things out on your own fairly quickly. To give you an idea of what the EVE learning curve can be like:
If you choose WoW please feel free to message me on these forums and I'll set you up with some starter gold. I currently play on Twisting Nether (RP-PvP) Horde side. |

[POLL] Which of these games should adopt Turbines FTP hybrid model?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/07/10 4:21:28 PM
None of the above. And OP good job starting one of the most one sided polls I've ever seen. Your poll is the "everyone should know how I think and think the same way" line of thought that is so prevalent in the pathetic community in most MMO's now a days. This is the equivalent of starting a poll that says: "Why do you think what I believe is the best? a) Because b) It just is c) All of the above If you don't think my beliefs are the best just post below." You're an idiot. |

Just get a damn job and pay to play one of the myriad of beautifully crafted P2P games. When are people going to learn that F2P games are a fraction of the experience you can get from a good P2P game. |

AO vs. Neocron... which cyberpunk/sci fi game is better?

Both great games and while I enjoyed the crap outta Neocron I have to say I prefer AO. |

"James T Kirk was a great man, but that was another life." Nice signature Zeno. Think we have a Star Trek Online fanboy here trying to start crap with EVE? |

The live events in Anarchy Online that the devs and such put on were one of the myriad of reasons I fell in love with that game. I still remember being cornered by a reporter for the in game newspaper put out by Funcom and answering a few questions about currents happenings on Rubi-Ka. |

Try Istaria: Chronicles of the Gifted (Horizons) Things are going great
LFGame « General Discussion 7/25/09 11:16:44 AM
I may just take you up on your suggestion. I remember playing Horizons back at launch and thinking it was decent enough at the time for the lack of content it had. Now that it's been a few years maybe I'll take another look. |
