Originally posted by Kaerigan Ignorance is bliss. Gold itself can be sold on the RMAH so of course it will be worth something. Infact, I believe there will be more transactions on the Gold AH then the RMAH. Just because you can sell something on the RMAH doesn't mean someone will always buy it. |

I'm surprised it got it's own forum considering it's not an MMO. But whatever...can't wait for this game! |

Torchlight 2 is everything Diablo 3 isn't Interview

After reading all of the information from this website: http://diablo3dungeon.com/ and watching several beta gameplay videos, it's apparent Diablo 3 is at least ten times better than D1 or D2 and will blow then living hell out of TL2. IMO, if you play TL2 over D3 you are settling for mediocrity (Torchlight 1 was boring as hell!). Also, why are you guys so butthurt over online only (in this day and age) and the OPTIONAL rmah? I really don't understand it. |

The isometric view is fitting for Diablo 3 because of the type of game it is - one where you are fighting hordes & hordes of demons. To me you get a better view of the playing field. However the 3rd person/1st person view that Skyrim has, is also great because it feels more immersive. But then again you aren't fighting so many things at once. |

Humorous idea. How about $1 per death up to a maximum of $15 per month like the current model. That way if you're good or play it safe you can get off cheap...but if you're reckless you're still only paying $15 per month. But you still get as many lives as you want. |

Would you play a sandbox MMO like this...

Imagine when the game was first released the entire world was primitive and somewhat barren. Not a single building in the entire world...just trees, caves, mountains, lakes, oceans etc. and of course monsters. Everyone starts off with basic crafting recipes and tools and from there you start chopping trees, mining rock, coal etc. and start constructing everything from the ground up. You can choose to learn as many professions as your heart desires but of course you won't have time to do it all. And so this is where other players come in handy. You form alliances and work together and soon you can have a whole town built. But the world is dangerous and unforgiving, soon monsters of various strength and skill start trying to raid your town and kill everyone. You do your best to fend them off and continue to grow stronger. You learn killing these monsters is valuable not only for your survival but because the secrets they share. All of the magic spell and complex crafting recipes come from them. Not to mention the crafting materials they have. None of the weapons & armor they have are particularly useful because they were broken after you beat them senseless. No, everything useful in this game comes from crafting! Ok this a idea off the top of my head (partly inspired from playing Minecraft). I've contemplated if free for all PvP (with some kind of justice system or laws) would be feasible in this game. Tell me what you think. |

Diablo 3: Users Unlikely to play the RMAH Market
General Discussion « Diablo 3 9/02/11 9:55:25 PM
People seem to forget Diablo 3 is not an mmorpg. It's a single player or co-op game with 4 players maximum depending on how you play it. There is no competitve edge like you would normally see in an mmorpg. It has been stated numerous times the game will not be balanced around PvP but rather to be a fun co-op experience. I don't give a damn how the average Joe wants to spend his money, because it has very LITTLE effect on me. If anything, a player with bought gear will probably only make your runs a tad easier (if he/she isn't an idiot). Secondly, I really doubt most people are going to spend real $$ to gear up every slot on their character. Most likely they will be missing that single peice of gear that makes up a whole Set and be left with two choices: Farm it and hope you get it (1-5% chance) or go buy it with gold or cash. Lastly, Diablo 3 is free to play (after the intial box price), there is no shame in Blizzard getting their cut off the RMAH to maintain the battle.net servers in which we will play on. The rest of the money could go to releasing patches or developing the expansions. |

Why I have changed my mind about the D3 AH.

@Homitu You really have zero need to guage a player's "skill" by looking at their gear, ever. All you need to look at is their Achievements. |
