Also its rumored that there are now a lot of quests that involve exploration and hunting mobs. So basicly you are doing the same thing as grinding but you report to an npc at the end of the line This allows you to go out, kill and explore with a sense of purpose for those that are into that stuff.

Great info I like the way this sounds I just hope the negatives don't outweigh the positives but Im sure that is something that gets smoothed out as more and more play.

Yes keep it running it is like an IM program and you have file planet set as one of your friends. When the keys are available they will send you an IM popup with a link to dl.

Wouldnt this make more sense as well as encouraging more world pvp witch it would see more people prefer?

There are a lot of PvE players, lowbies, and newbies, in the open world. Going by world pvp stats is unreliable. Thats the only reason I can think they use pvp minigames, besides getting more people to play them. Atleast in a pvp instance, the players are there specifically to kill other players. Even if you do say kill 50 lvl 80s in world pvp, half of them could've been afk hiding behind a tree, or fighting another mob, or even jumped by multiple people.

This is why world pvp xp would be a better idea because pvp xp works similar to mob xp ganking and zerging would earn less then group vs group.

If requiering minigame prowess would force people to grind and play minigames more this type of system would encourage groups roaming and fighting in world pvp and that to me would be excellence.

The worst part of this all, is if it was a different game you'd all be whining that you won't pay for beta, but because this is AoC it's an exception? Hell no. I don't care what MMO it is I'll never stoop so low as to pay to play beta, if you think this isn't a problem you have a screw loose in your head. It's bad enough Funcom and other developers use the key word "tester" as a term to get free labor instead of paying for a quality testing team.

I don't understand how some people can be so reckless with money especially with the way the economy is now. I can see people who already have a fileplanet subscription fine they arn't paying for beta they are paying for the fileplanet services, but the rest of you who are paying just to get in AoC beta are fools.

Maybe instead of you paying for a lap dance the girl should pay you for it? Ya the logic is senseless and so is the AoC community that accepted this idea.

It should have been torrented and hand-picked codes from Funcom to 50,000 sign-ups on the official beta site. Every other developer does it, no reason why Funcom couldn't have other then to partner with fileplanet and reap the rewards from morons. Good game Funcom.

Except that you aren't paying for the beta you are paying for the Fileplanet service. People like myself already had FP acounts paid nothing extra for the AoC beta it was a perk that came along with a great service that I already had. So many soapboxers want to make this about paying for a beta but if you take an honest look you will see what you actually pay for and that it is worth it. However screaming doom seems to be much more fun and easily done on the internet these days.

Pretty sure the devs already stated in an offical post that the nda would be lifted for or during the open beta.

Pretty sure the May second registration is for the pre-order items you just have to go to the beta account site and enter your key from FP and it gets you set up.

Exactly when did mmos become your home town sports teams that need to do battle with all others. I always hope that any game that comes out is great to play and a success. The more quality on the market the more options for gamers and the more options the more gamers are brought to the community.

But alas, I fear too many would rather don their favorite mmo T-shirt and shout at each other in text about how "My game will totally outscore yours in subscribers!"

Solution: Get Comrade. Ya, I dont like using stupid crap like that, but I left it open and turned my speakers up real loud. Then, when the chime when I got an IM went off, I went in and sure enough they opened up more keys. I clicked the link and BAM. There was my key.

Try it, it works.

Reposting this for those that haven't seen amid the flames. This is the best way to get the keys the instant they are up without having to sit at the pc if you do not want to.

Or you could not be a whiner, and already have a FP subscription for all of the other services they provide and this comes at a bonus.

Got my key and will be ready to go on the first.

Pretty sure in one of the q and a's posted they said that the ui is customizable but there will be no add-on support. Not sure if that is old, changed, or not.

This has been known about for a long time its no secret. Wasn't one bad post / comment under that column on massively either.

If it was widely known, I wouldnt have posted it.  Obviously if they wanted it to be widely known, they would not have hidden this in 'small-print' in an attempt to bait potential customers into thinking that what was once considered a very short-term, non operationally harmful perk, is an attempt to take another $5 that wouldnt otherwise be gotten for downloading the game electronically a few days later.  The subscription should clearly tack another $5 on the front-end of subscribing rather than attempting to bury it.

Actually you may be the last person to realize this because it has been widely know for a long time. Every preorder site clearly lists it and as stated you get 3day head start and an additional 10 days of subscription time this is more then fair for $5. Unless of course you are mad because you don't make your own money and now have to convince those buying the game for you to spend a whole extra $5.

Yea I too played on a medium level pc and I had a performance that was just fine. No stutters or lag. Of course I didn't try to play at max res or graffics but thats because I know the limits of my machine. I know that having a lower end pc I have to play at lower settings and that is fine with me. Lowered the settings and the game ran fine and was enjoyable and thats all that mattered to me.

For me it comes down to interactivity and activity. In auto attack games you are able to execute your specials and still do dmg in between or while waiting on cool downs without effort. With this system you still wait on cooldowns but in order to continue doing dmg you must continue your active inputs. I like the idea that no dmg happens unless an action is taken on the players part.
