Well, As long as the GM'S are quick or banning bots, or the Game Programmers, think in a system that will not allow the usage of bots, guess it will be partially ok.

OFC there's always one or two in this process.

That is very understandable Dakota, since the Abyss is a PvP zone. My main concern is if i can be ganked in my normal leveling process.. i DO HATE THAT. you know, i like pvp, however i also like to have the freedom to choose when i want it.

Like someone near to me normally says

"Your Freedom ends where Mine starts" :)

Hello dear Aion fanatics :) !

I didnt found yet how World PvP will work, im particulary worried about the ganking issue. How will Aion handle such issues?

I love pve and pvp, however i hate being forced to pvp when i'm doing the final quest of the chain, or i'm really focused in getting something done, or i'm in the process of getting a final reagent, and suddenly a group of 2-3 the opposing faction, simply decided to ruin my gaming day, by killing me over and over again (believe me, there are people like this in all the games, whom actually have fun with others saddness).

So what is the feature that Aion will have to prevent such frustations? will ganking be allowed? will you be able to be steamrolled when doing your quests by players of much higher levels? or will it have a protection system, that the player will only engange in pvp fights, whenever the it desires?

kudos

hmmm i wonder if opposing  factions is a nice thing... i mean every new content they will make, they will have to double it, since we are talking about two factions.

Or one, it will end up like WoW, equal content for both factions, or two, it will actually have different new content for each faction (which i doubt, but would love :).

Only thing I don't like about monthly fee's is the feeling of "must play" to get your money's worth.

Have 2 options for casual and hardcore gamers.  hardcore is the regular $15/month.  casual would be something like $15/ 60 hours (rough estimate).  A lot of people only play a couple hours a week.  it's hardly fair for them to be paying the same price as someone who's playing 14 hours a day.

I wish companies would think about that serious problem of addiction that comes with monthly fee's.

I agree.  I am a casual gamer.  I play only 1-2 hours a day because i have work.  Sometimes i don't play at all because i'm tired at the end of the day.  That $15 is not worth it for me.

I wish NCSoft will come up with a different payment scheme aside from the standard monthly fee.  I'm ok with prepaid.  For example, $15 for 240 hours (equivalent to 10 days) would be fine.  It's an hourly consumption so if i don't play then the time is not wasted.  And the credit would be valid for 2 months, after which it expires.

I'm just wondering, it's been years and no one has implemented a different scheme like this.  This will attract many casual players.

Hmmm... i dont know. It seems too much rewarding such type of payement, if something like that was allowed it would meab that would you be around 200 days playing with only 15$? . i really dont think so, most of peeps would choose that payement, and would hurt alot the socializing part of it.

"oh gtg, my 10 minutes allready passed -.-"

maybe something like 15$ - 50 hours would make some sense :).

However, i also think that companies dont include this for obvious reasons.. and hey... its a MMORPG, you're supposed to invest many hours in it!

Hey there Ayase, nice to see you around.

What can we consider as "contribute to the community?" , i'm following aion with much expectation in forums since some months ago, would do anything in my reach to have the chance to test the game and provide feedback in closed beta!

*gets his hands ready to work!*  ^_______^ !

Well if i remenber correctly, they want this game to be a very big thing, for all type of players, from all types of games (in the mmorpg scene ofc).

Restricting the closed beta for previous NCsoft players would kinda  go against that argument no?

Meh.. in the end, i assume most of ppl want p2p (u can see a voting on this forum with 70% wanting aion to be p2p rather than free) because p2p games, normally deliver in terms of quality. Developers will justify the money you actually pay.

There's allready alot of  crappy f2p games out there, we dont need aion to be one more in the basket.

It is P2P roughly $15 per month

How come you know this? There is nothing for sure at the moment of writing this! It wil not be free that's for sure. Who wants to make a game on the crytek engine for free. nobody i think? Wel I sure hope it wil be like Guild Wars. Just buy the game and play then after a while buy the expansion packs to get some new things. I also hope there will be some option that you can buy stuff with real money to support the dev people. With this money they can fix bugs that are in the game.

It is official in Korea, Aion follows a classic model of buy box+pay monthly fees, 15$ is the standard so zereelist's post will probably be accurate whenever we get our bussiness model confirmed, anyways, guild wars is another kind of game totally different from Aion, GW can afford to loose a bit of money monthly on that model cause they don't pay for a lot of servers, they put almost all the load on your computer through instances, and that's not possible on a persistant world such as Aion's.

Wel i think it sucks if there is an montly fee.. but on the other hand if the game is as good as the promise then it is worth it i think.

It would suck  more if it was like Guild Wars. P2P monthly is the way to go for Good MMORPGS :) . For example Guild Wars 2 will problably be P2P.

GW's is a really great game buying all 4 campaighns is still cheaper than a year sub to most mmo's and most of them are not as immersive and story driven as gw's with a nice skill based pvp system to boot. Yer a troll with your post there sire and i fed ya and i hope yer troll teeth rot out, i doubt you even tried to play gw's or the other 3 expansions for it.

I did Play Guild Wards, However Guild wars cannot even be described as an MMORPG, you simply go  out into the world and... you are alone! :S .. honestly it sucks, it could be much better if it had the propper fundings. and well, i like a good dosage of pvp and pve, and guild wars is mostly pvp.

And no, im not gonna insult you, like you did to me, my pre-teen times are long gone, have a nice day!

I went back to Fileplanet webpage do it all over again and they aren't even hosting the file anymore?

Anyone have a way to get the client besides fileplanet?

That's Great news. Neutral cities are Something a Faction Vs Faction game SHOULD NEVER HAVE.

It's like .. Hey, hello there fellow stranger, how are you?

2 mins later in the outside world

Awww that's the lil fella from before.. bah nvm.. let him be.

Neutral cities actually lead to pvp becoming more and more passive.

Can i know what's the specs of your computer UrbanMonkey? and if you are following this games since 2 years ago, you should know that they are more demanding in terms of Hardware. Couldn't you had save some money in those 2 years time to buy a new Rig? Cpu+Graphics+Mem+mobo  is quite cheap nowdays.. with 500 euros you can get something nice (excluding monitor).

I do hope and pray to the god of games, that AION by using 2 different opposing factions, will not end like WoW lazyness, where Opposing Factions co-exist in the same cities, the so-called Neutral cities.. It's the worst thing ever.

Opposing factions, must be unknown to each other, a mistery, a rare sight, that's what makes encounters funny and suprising.

I dont agree at all.

Sure AoC pushes a bit, but it's nothing you cant overcome, in time, the hardware existent in the market will be far superior than the AoC reccomended.

If you want to stick with old crappy wow, by all means, just do that. No1 is forcing you to try other games, or even envolve in the MMORPG scenery. (i play wow since 3 years ago, and well.. i cant take it anymore, done most end game content, but simply feel the game is very casual and has nothing new to offer).

And well WoW graphics might be simple and need low spec system, but the game is normally very buggy in terms of system crashes, for example wow doesnt run at all with the new 9xxx and 8xxx Nvidia Graphics, normally will generate the BLACK SCREEN error from doom.

So, just because you can't be arsed to save some money for a new rig, must all the players be stuck with outdated graphics? no way. My machine is not very strong, but just from seeing AoC/Aion/War i feel compelled to start saving again for my new computer.

Rememnber, Game Technoloy can never stop envolving, if a game that comes out 3 years later than the other, and the Graphics aren't extremely better, that would be indeed something very wrong!

OH THE PAIN! (my net can support speeds up to 500kb/s)

But to my knowlege farcry and crysis uses the first and the second ver. of CryEngine. So lets hope that it is Cryengine2, used in Crysis that is used in AionOnline, otherwise its an 4 year old engine they are using yes.

hey... the 4 year old engine is a polished one, and puts most MMORPGS to shame.

Cryengine2? are u insane? for what , 0,000001% base of playrs whom have Quad Core's and Dual Graphics? o.O u have no idea of how much the CryEngine2 pushes? no way  Aion will use something like that. It's a MMORPG, not a freaking FPS.

GamePlay > Graphics.

Yeah, I'm sick of paying for online games, they should all be free. I'm sick of paying $700 a month for my crappy apartment, I think it should be free also. My slow internet connection isn't worth $45 bucks a month, it should be free also. I hardly use my cell phone so it should be free instead of paying $60 a month. Wait... no? You mean I have to pay to get service? People don't work for free? Developing games isn't volunteer work? You're right, I have to be a complete idiot to work my ass off for 3-5 years just to give it away for free. Oops, I forgot to turn off my sarcasm.

Since I spend hundreds on crappy console games every month, I think $15 a month to waste away my life on is a bargain. Being stingy is only asking for more problems and more crappy games to be produced. After all, games are a luxury everyone takes for granted. You know what makes you happy, not your money, it only helps.

I loved the irony there ;)!

I'm not saying P2P is cheap, but am i the only one that thinks, for the amount of fun we get in this kind of games, 10€ is actually quite cheap :S .. Meh i just went for some drinks 2night and easily spent that sum in about one hour xD!

Still some of my non-playing game friends get horrified whenever i say them i have to pay 2 play. but well, i also get horrified whenever i hear they spend money in things that are completely useless to me..

So, what i mean to say, and allready gone in a bit of off-topic here, is that Depending of how much we love to do something in this case, play this magnificient games, i consider this monthly sums to  be quite fair.

If someone doesnt want to play, for quality game, they always have F2P games, ofc those are crappy, but samething happens in everything little thing, If YOU want quality, You must pay for it :). Nobody works for free.
