BFR's were fun as hell, but it did ruin the game.  I used to just fly around in my lib with a buddy looking for Biffers, both bail out and kill it.  EMP blast was my job and he had the armor piercing ammo to hit the back shield, then we both deci.  GG lol, have fun waiting 8 hours for another.

Had several servers at the start.  Couldnt imagine the servers being able to take that kind of load.  The battles were already 300+ people at some points, my poor 56k line would be extra raped with one server

This, I disagree with you on.

Everyone in the world being your friend doesn't tie in with the lore of Guild Wars 2.

All the playable races have come together "enlightened" and work toward one goal of peace.

HOWEVER, did you know the Charr and human used to have a feud? Not everyone is friends.

And if the developers know what they're doing, they're going to allow you a PVP Server/Option.

 

A PVP Server/Option will allow you to gank players without their knowledge.

Killing a fellow player should result in consequences.

Defending a fellow player from someone attacking them should result in rewards.

Defeating an enemy player attacking you should also result in rewards OR nothing at all.

This is all in speculation, however. All I'm sure of is that there will be open world PVP between unsuspecting players.

 

 

They're not going to add PvP to the PvE world of Tyria (unless there is significant demand fo a seperate server). It goes against their design philosophies, which emphasise co-operation. Colin has said that the devs want seeing another player to be a good thing in PvE, always. Friendly fire doesn't exist and most of their gameplay is designed around co-operation, dynamic events especially.

 

Besides, with WvW, there's no real need for PvP in the PvE world. -shrugs-

Agreed, they should just take PvP out of the game, its not like people enjoy it.....

Sounds like many people are playing SWTOR simply because its Star Wars.  Once you realize that it's just a skin and your simply playing what has already been done, you will be bored and quit in 6 months. 

While I am also tired of elves and swords, I believe guild wars 2 has many innovative gameplay mechanics.

-Actual dynamic events (not public quests)

-World pvp

-Somewhat balanced pvp

-Story based dungeons

-Underwater combat (cant even go underwater in SWTOR)

-Skill based combat, that combines reflexes with strategy.

....What is original about SWTOR?  The billion hours of cutscenses that I will spam esc to skip through?

While I think SWTOR will sell, it won't be a long term success.  Bioware is smart for grabbing the Star wars name tho, if it was any other title people would just ignore it.

That being said, I will purchase SWTOR and probably regret buying it after the free month.

Just play both?  Most people dont subscribe to more than one game... and considering GW2 has no sub, people will play both.

I dont get it.  Not like SOE to just shutdown and not squeeze every dime out of the customer...

Should I get it?  I have tried trials in the past and found the combat a bit tedious, lack of WASD annoyed me i guess.... but I always wanted to give the game a real chance and for $10 it might be worth it.

Speaking as a 2200 holy pally w/ a 2200 warrior and dk as team mates... Druids are one of the easiest for us to kill.  So.... your doing something wrong.  Throwdown into recklessness usually gets em, plus your partners stun or cc. 

Look up steriod in US armory if you want to see my 3's team.

But 2v2 is a joke right now anyways.  Blizz cant balance the game for the life of them.   3v3 is atleast a little better...

This was a huge opportunity to show what Guild Wars 2 brought to the table.  Especially with one of its main competitors SWTOR being there.   While it didnt get the hands on approach with fans, it could have made the fans want to get its hand on GW2.  E3 is expensive to go to, if you look at it from a cost approach, but you shoud look at it from an investment stand point.  Millions of people view this event, looking at possible gameplay footage. 

Huge opportunity missed....
