In your opinion- Will any other MMORPG ever replicate....
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/27/12 10:29:00 AM
Oh, yes. After playing UO for about 5 years wow was so bugfree and polished .... and they replaced stuff if bugs ate it .... customer service .... 3d graphics.... gameplay got stale after a while but I remember wows polish best, so that should be possible to find elsewhere.
Played wow for 2-3 years, but it is a bit grindy - never got addicted to it |

Yes, they announced Archage for Japan using the portal pmang. Pmang includes 20 titles, lots of them casual games/Mobile games. Portal will open on 7. June. Doesn't really say a lot else. |

Ultima Online: Wayback Wednesday with UO Devs
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/23/12 9:36:55 AM
Sorry, I still think the Enhanced Client Graphics look ugly for the most part and need a real reworking. And the fighting on testcenter covetous looks as exciting as watching paint dry. Comparing covetous fighting to diablo 3 fighting - You fight endless waves for points for getting items with ugly graphics and pay a monthly fee ..... I know UO has no budget, so don't expect any really updates :) I enjoyed my 10 years of UO, but EA is not willing to keep the game updated properly and just seems content to milk it dry with adding an itemshop to the monthly fee. |

Maybe they are working on making GW2 f2p in Asia to reach a broader customer base there? |

Why Diablo can never be hacked for offline play
General Discussion « Diablo 3 5/20/12 6:08:37 AM
I don't think so though that private servers will take a lot of money away from Blizzard. Unlike MMOs with a monthly fee, Diablo is a one time fee and maybe some expansions in years to come.

Why Diablo can never be hacked for offline play

I agree that Blizzard should have included an offline modus, but that ship has sailed. Support Torchlight 2 then and forget diablo. |

Why Diablo can never be hacked for offline play
General Discussion « Diablo 3 5/19/12 5:22:55 PM
*coughs* There were are at least 3 differently programmed UO emulators out there over the years, so why would diablo with 10 times the user base be safe from emulation?
I just see no reason to emulate diablo? Blizzard does an ok job unlike swg with nge or uo with trammel/AOS there is no real reason to reprogram it. |

Why Diablo can never be hacked for offline play
General Discussion « Diablo 3 5/19/12 5:09:25 PM
Why would anyone except for fun fully emulate a diablo 3 server except for a bit of fun. Blizzard does it well enough. I hope if anyone emulates it they create some different gameplay and maybe something more interesting than just diablo :P Maybe a 3 faction pvp server or something interesting. When I for fun worked on an emulated UO server, I tried to put things in I found interesting, not copy/paste what was already done.

General: System Mechanic – A Must Have App for PC Geeks

Shouldn't a dedicated gamer have a gaming pc without any unecessary crap running on it? Would that not be the better advice? |

First Official Video of Project Copernicus (the kingdoms of amalur MMO)
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/19/12 3:24:47 PM
It was a little surprising to see Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning sitting pretty at number four in the NPD software sales charts for February, an impressive feat for a brand new IP. But what does the number translate to in actual sales? NPD tells Joystiq that Reckoning sold a total of 330,000 copies in the US across Xbox, PS3 and PC last month.
Though if Europe and Asia bought like craaaazy they might have sold a million |

EA has to do something to make their Origin platform more known :P Though I hope Steam does the same for those games. |

Diablo 3: Preparations Didn't Go Far Enough

Still like Starcraft 2 they should have had an option to play offline with no achievements and the items obtained could not be auctioned off. |

When Is The Last Time An MMO Surprised You?

General: Should Elder Scrolls Online Be F2P?
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/08/12 9:33:15 AM
They do not need to go f2p for the masses. A good B2p with an itemshop like GW would attract also more people. On the other hand if they do a system like LOTR many people would also be in favor of that. |

I think Amazon and other retailers will sell it cheaper. It is the same with Diablo 3 which digitally costs €60, but would be cheaper for me to import it from the UK (about €47). I have though no idea why digital, the one without box and delivery, costs the most?
