Welll..     Is scaring to read you, because is true that the class is that efficient.

Anyway I will still roll a  squig herder, and kill all these white lion guys. The Squig Herder is ranged, and this will prove more interesting that what you comment about WL stances.

theres no imbalance.

the empire scenary northward is biased towards orders.  because the flags are on a mountain, so have the heigh adventage, and the destro the broken LOS and messages "you can't use that skill"

even that map can be taken by a organized destro group that go for the lighthouse first.

As ben just added, and not finished.  It needs lots of "dev love" to become something.

The engineer are like somewhat interesting, so I hope the magus will look good in the future.

the magus at low level is poor for RVR, and the first scenary is biased towards order (everybody know that).

on that scenary (norwardh) you have to get the lighthouse, to stop reinforcements, or soon you will be camped on your own base.

so you played something biased against your realm, with a lame class, hence.. you haven died too much.

There is space in BP?

I have played it, and was more like a  RTS with base building stuff. Nice game, giganteous map, impresive.

Horrible java interface..trough.

Minor little problem, Beyond Protocol is in closed beta.

 

I love from BP the giganteous of the map. I hate from BP the interface, and the somewhat slow renderer.

CC in a PVP game has to be toned down, because players are much more letal than mobs. 21 seconds in a PVE game is too lite. But on a PVP game is like 21 years.   Even 7 seconds root in a pvp game is enough so people focus on you and bang, you are dead. That is really bad for meles, because  mean can't do mele. So If you want to have meles classes, you have to toned down CC down thatn 7 seconds, maybe yo 4 or 5 seconds. That is what you are winning to.  If you want 21 seconds root/snares in a pvp game, you are unrealistic.

Civilization has moved from a pure-combat game, to a "rpg" ish game, where options mater.  Just the option of leader, religion,etc...  change your civilization.   Games designed around combat look to untrained  eyes like  glorified  slow and boring galcon clones.

Thats how I quitted Vanguard.  My suggestion is to don't look back. Theres tons of stuff to come soon. Also, If you really want to return, wait a few monts, so the dev's have time to make the game better. Funcom is really slow, so this can be a year, or maybe more.

.. like   DaOC is several versions older in the euro side, than the usa side. And a ugly website in the euro side.

WAR is a best game than AoC, but will have our share of /facepalms  and with GOA.

Yea,  If you game crash, because use feature Y that is poorly implemented in driver, you have to write a workaround.

My post is a reply to some guy that say the bug is in the Conan code. Maybe is not there.  But a workaround is needed.

Well...  this game needs content and fixings.   This could be too lite, too late, but is a step in the right direction.

Maybe not exactly right, because I think the game needs more RPG features, freedom, gameplay modes, and stuff to make it FUN.   The problem with AoC is that is boring after a while.  The bugs just make boring people become angry people.   There are around 400.000 people that have more than enough of AoC for years to come, and maybe 100.000 that are really angry about the topic.   We can make a army with that :DD

The DX10 version look better,   I think you can get this effects in DX8 or even lower versions of DX, with emulation... slighty slower than with DX10.     Anyway I suspect that setting shaders 4 on the engine  will make rendering slower, so.. what is the gain?.     Having this features in DX9 and the ability to enable or disable these individually sould have be a better option.     Also, I have to say that water caustics have zero useage in conan, because monsters don't enter water, players don't enter water. water is unused in conan, no one look inside water. 

 

What I would have love, Is improvements on the character skin rendering, soo looks more natural. There are something IMPORTANT.   Better tits are more important than water caustics, Mr. Tomasz.

yea, memory leaks are something a dev can fix with single tools that count allocations and deallocations, so can mark exactly where is the leak.

anyway, who knows? maybe the leak is not on the game, but on buggy video drivers or pci-e drivers

Conan is like AO ... NOW.. because Conan use a upgrade version of the AO engine. 

That seems a bad thing, because the way has been upgrade mean code that Funcom can't control, is too complex and buggy.  And as anything old, Conan suffers from some problems that new stuff don't have.

Is a risk you have to take. Most people (like Valve) just upgrade a old engine. But seems here the result is very good to make screenshots, but really expensive to debug.  

What you are seeing is a game dying. Conan engine is  like 10 years old.

abriael.. why are you doing that????... IS AMAZING! , very usefull for these people that need to understand WAR.  Is like a "WAR for dummies" book. Only better.
