3)  Buy out another Guild

Could this not cause a monopoly of some sort?  What if some players want to just be in a casual guild that doesn't have an intense schedule but does have powerful characters and they get bought out?  I think players choose a guild for a reason and that shouldn't have to change without them having a choice in it.

This question is mostly just for Jatar--i didn't know if i should ask this through an email to the site or not.  I've been checking the game site regularly and there hasn't been any game news since the end of  Feb.  i was just wondering how it is coming along and if there is any new major developments happening?

Also, for others:  there is a post on the second page of the discussion topics with a link to a fan site for this game if anyone wants to check it out.

My guess would be that resurrection only applies to PC's and not to NPC's, that is of course assuming that the "prisoner is an NPC.  But i don't know, i guess only Jatar can really answer that question.

Even trolls are better than nothing. Providing they generate discussion.  A dead, inactive forum is the one to be feared.

Yeah i agree i hate dead forums, especially when you are the one who creates them, lol.

This may be a stupid question, but what is the difference between Flames and trolls...i am pretty new to forums and posting, though i am not new to mmo's.  Just wondering if someone would kindly help me out, thanks!

Flames are personal attacks against another poster.

Trolling is a blatant attempt to stir up anger just for the sake of making people mad -- it is often accomplished by mentioning controversial subjects for no reason or by taking a contrarian stance you don't necessarily even believe in.

What trolling is NOT:   Someone giving his/her honest opinion about a game or game feature, even if that opinion is highly critical.

Thanks a lot Hexxeity, it is much appreciated

i do think it would be cool to know more about the skills in this game as well (they have said some about skills, tracking was mentioned in the thread called "First: Looks Cool" on page 7, it is the first post on that page) but it will be cool to go on this game and find out all the cool surprises without being told everything.  On that note i don't think that pokemon and Jedi (if you can call those skills) quite fit into this game's setting...i mean there will be magic and everything, maybe it could fit into that genre...

Wow.  Simply wow.  That is amazing that you are going to be able to do this.  I have to be honest, I can't believe an AI could be this smart.  I get a feeling your going to make every game's AI look retarted compared to what you can do with your AI.  Hehe.  I seriously look forward to hearing more.

I totally agree with Shadowlord, not only will this game's AI be totally awesome and make other games look like a bunch of children playing with dolls (npc's) but i believe that it will change the future of mmo's completely...i'm totally rooting for you MMO Magic, and i'll be definitely looking forward to this game.  The AI, the quest system, the Adventure system, the character build freedom, and all the other great things about this game will draw a lot of players once they all hear about it!

Somehow i just don't see how this game could fail if the devs provide the game that is being portrayed...and by the looks of there honest dedication and willingness to listen to the "gamer/consumer" i think that they are going to provided us with that!

Thank you Jatar and MMO Magic!

I'm with you, i think that there are a few of us who are quite excited about this game and it would be cool to exchange ideas about the game in the very least on CoS forums, or these forums, if not in the beta testing itself.

Hope to see you guys there, i know i'll be trying to get into beta for sure!

Wow...i really like how instead of trying to inform this "sad world" you only choose to insult it and not make it a better place, therefore only making it a worse place.  If you think that something is sad or terrible wouldn't it be in everyones best interest just to tell us what heroics are and make this "sad state" into an "enlightened state?" but that of course implies that you actually know what "heroics" means; and the post quoted in this post implies that either you don't want to make this "world" a better place or that you actually don't understand the concept of "heroics" yourself and only want to seem intelligent.

I am also in the dark as to what exactly you mean by heroics, so please by all means, enlighten my "world."

I agree heartily with nightwing, CoS does own, they have gone out on a limb to create a new kind of game that i think if executed correctly will change the world of future mmorpgs forever!

Thanks Jatar for clearing that up.  Before that discussion i wasn't confused and then i became really confused and now after your post i'm just not going to worry about it.  The adventuring sounds really interesting!

The reason i am looking forward to this game is because it isn't like every other mmorpg out there and that is great...no set quests (everytime i start a new character i won't have to do the same things over and over again), no ganking (really annoying for non-pvpers/rpgers), and i get to create my own character instead of having a set skill base for certain classes (ranger, theif, wizard) i can be whatever i want to be.  and the best part is that i can get on and play solo, or i can log on with my friends and group up with them.

Another great thing about this game is that the devs are really dedicated to making a new and different game, not just a money making clone.  I think they have already shown that they have listened to both critics and praisers: there was a lot of complaining about the state of their web site and they changed it...this tells me that they really care about what the gamers want.  Although, i had no problem with the website as long as they were working on the game.

Yeah, i agree, i am totally excited about this game; and even if people don't like the idea or think that the devs won't deliver they still shouldn't trash talk, i mean there is no harm in some constructive criticism but if people don't know what they are talking about or just don't think the devs can deliver they shouldn't talk until they see a final product.

Anyways, i hope to test in the beta maybe i'll see you on there!

All the best to the devs!!

I believe that information was noted earlier in this forum, quite a few times actually.  First by Jatar, and then by others who have been following this forum.

How many of us who used to play would go back if there were an old world server? EQ rocked back then and it will always be the best MMORPG to me, i'd go back in a heartbeat if there were an "Old World" server.  Any thoughts? good idea? bad idea? post away...

Agreed, EQ old world was the best mmorpg i have ever played and then came the expansion invasion...i've been looking for an mmo to match it ever since and none have!  they should start an old world server, it's not like they don't have the resources.  Pre luclin dominated... i would go back in a flash if they had an old world server!

One other quick question i had: will the game at some point force social interaction?  I mean that is kinda the point of MMO's right, to get people to play together?  Although i don't know if force is the right word, i think "encourage people to game together" would be more appropriate. Thanks!

Lord knows i am a casual player, but i think this game would be great for both...it's no fun feeling like you are being left behind in the dust because you simply can't game as much as others can.
