Give it a pass. That is not much machine for the money.

The Dell website offers refurbished machines with much better choices. (personally I wouldn't buy a Dell)

You could build your own and it would be much more machine for the same money.

I'm not sure what you guys are doing wrong.

I've submitted 2 tickets and both have been taken care of.

Both within 24 hours.

The OP should take a class on how to operate a computer 100. Most of the problems they had were easy to work around.

The other items they talk about were covered in the forums by the Devs. None of this is new.

Great game. If you like Conan you will probably like the game.

If you know how to use your computer you can adjust it to work without a hitch.

Please make sure you have the minimum requirements before you buy the game. Below these minimums the game doesn't work.

I've got a nasty DSL connection in the back woods of Idaho and don't have those kinds of lag spikes.

Check your settings.

Game runs just fine for me.

Minimum on the graphics card should be 512.

CPU is a little slow but with a couple adjustments should do OK.

Learn how to adjust settings to maximize your system.

I have no lag or other problems. Great game.

Funcom made a game for those who will take the time to appreciate it.

Maxing a character in 6 days and I'm supposed to believe you have seen it all? Maybe seen it all as if from orbit.

Sorry, you are doomed to wander the gaming worlds forever unsatisfied. No one makes a game for the "how fast can I finish it" crowd. Good luck.

I've got a P4 rig.

No problems. The latest patchs really made the game run smoother and faster.

No problems running PvE. No problems running PvP. No high end computer jocky owned me. The player can adapt to any circumstance. If they are any good.

Game is fun. Very pretty. Early access is fun.

See you in game!

What lag/frame issues?

Buy a computer made in this decade.

I have run this game on 3 different machines without any problems.

If the graphics card has at least 512 meg onboard. You didn't say which version. 512 seems to be a barrier for this game. Lower ram onboard causes a bottle-neck.

CPU is a little slow.

On lowest settings in game it should work.

Going to dissagree with the other poster. The 64 bit will not change anything for a game. Plenty of literature around on what 64 bit helps with.

The CPU is your bottle-neck. If you can swing it, a bit faster would help.

Try turning down some of the graphics settings on the card. I run an 8800 GTS 614 meg, but a P4 3.8 ghz. Mine just flat cranks it out.

The game is so pretty that turning it down some doesn't take much away.

Monitor shouldn't make much of a change for the money.

The RAM should not be a problem. I'm running the same amount without any problems.

Turn down some of the graphics settings on the card. This helped my 8800 gts quite bit. Especially in the cities. Once I had the settings lowered I had no problems at all.

PVP did slow it down a bit, but was still very good. No hitches or slide shows.

SLI means two nvidia graphics cards. Try to get them with at least 512 meg on the card.

It will work, but only at the lowest settings.

To get the in game critter you register for game access. In game you will be able to hit a button to get the critter at level 40. That is when mounts become available. The access key you type in tells them which critter came from the retailer you chose. Pretty easy. Look at the preorder box to see which critter came with the code. I'm getting the Rhino. Looks a lot like my ex wife. (j/k)

Let me see if I understand this clearly.

In an earlier article it was reported that 80% are PVE and 20% are PVP. So CCP is putting out a PVP expansion?

Are the folks at CCP taking advice from the Star Wars Galaxies team?

Where is the expansion for the PVE people? The 80% of your subscriber base?

It is not difficult to join in the PVP experience. It can be fun.

I agree with an earlier poster: the guard duty thing stinks.

If CCP wants to work on an expansion, how about expanding the graphics for the crafter?

The spaceship builder gets to watch a timer count down as the ship is made? A lot of room for improvement.

The miner watches the cargo bay fill up? A lot of room for improvement.

A researcher looks at the same count down. Things to improve. Just my opinion of course.

One of the strongest parts of a good game is a skill system that allows the player to go in any direction. As opposed to class based systems.

If this game will allow skill based advancement and joystick control it should be a winner. (as long as the pvp is limited in some way) (my opinion only of course)

It is the job of governments to provide a safe place for commerce. For a price. (Read Taxes)

Inside the Empire or whatever, safe and taxed. (Needs to be significant amount) Outside of Empire, no taxes and ffa pvp. Perhaps in degrees. Able to join convoys for safe travel. (or at least some protection provided) Able to hire wingmen. Perhaps provide gathering place and organized way for merchants to set up convoys outside Empire.

This way the pvpers can try different methods to break the convoy. Could be very exciting to play. Size of convoy means more protection, but more loot.

Why safe inside the Empire? Game can join Eve with 250k subscribers. Or can join Wow (safe pve environement) 10 million subscribers. If you were a business person where would you put your money?

Please Discuss

I have played D&D since it was a sideline in the chainmail rules. I have all of the rulebooks in first additions.

At a convention where Gary Gygax was supposed to talk about new monster manuals and such, I taunted Gary until he joined us in a last character standing contest. After several minutes it was down to Gary and myself. With some very lucky dice for me and lousy for him, I won. He was very gracious.

Later we had a rematch and he cleaned my clock. My turn to be gracious.

He was a fun competitor and a great gamer.

Rest in Peace.
