That's not very nice.  Plus that's operating system dependent.  There's no 'Add and remove' option in Vista, it's called something else .  Yes I know I'm being a pedant, but I'm being equally as hilarious as those posting in the WoW forums to tell people not to bother. :P

There actually is an Add and remove option in vista

I wouldn't be surprised if this were a marketing strategy to get people to buy and play the game...

Get over it Garriot, you failed on this one.

And if you just started playing ... why do you need to know where to buy it? Are you on trial?

This is not runescape, im guessing he just made the big switch....

6 months? Been playing 3 years... bored to death now but anyway...

Just go along and play it, you'll get the hang of it.

You can buy it in ANY game store, or just buy it online.

I just went to a gamestop and I had this post in mind, so I go to the guy and say "Do you guys carry SWG?"

and his reply was "Whats a 'SWG' ?"

and this other dude came up and said "Sorry about that... no we dont, we havent gotten a copy of that game for quiet some time now.... WE DO HOWEVER CARRY WORLD OF WARCRAFT"

Yeah, exact quote (almost) including the world of warcraft part...

In my opinion, 60% of the reason its hyped so much is the fact that its warhammer...

Maybe 20% because its by the creators of DAoC.

10% because it looks so good.

10% because there's nothing else better coming out there (Other than a few upcoming MMOs)

I personally am waiting for warhammer, I hope its good.

Hmm you have convinced me...

Gonna wait till tomorrow or day after and call up my brother when hes free and tell him to subscribe for me :P

One question though....

Are there A LOT of Kinships there? Because I was thinking of forming my own... recruiting all the low levels etc, you think it would work? Are there a lot of Kin-less people?

And other than that, thanks for your advice etc :)

I'm tired of WoW myself and would probably go more hardcore into LoTRO if I knew people who played. I think thats what the game comes down to.

Hmm yeah, I remember during my second month LOTRO was one hell of a fun time, I had a fun kinship with around 10 active players...

But when it disbanded and those guys either quit or rerolled or w/e... it kinda got boring.

Its a fun idea but almost never works, we made one when TBC launched... 5 BE paladins, but the end of the first month 1 left without a trace, 1 was still in his level 40s, 2 got bored and went back to their main servers, and me... was left alone on that server with a level 70 paladin...

Enjoy

Transfer your char, or start over on Elendilmir.  This is the international-oceanic server so there are always ppl online here at all hrs.  I'm also here and would be willing to help you when I'm online and not entirely busy!

Is it possible to transfer? If so what does it cost?

Anywho, thanks for the advice... I might resubscribe and either Re-Roll or Transfer to Elendilmir or Brandywine...

And ill keep that in mind thanks

I feel exactly the same. I played beta, bought the game... played for a few months then quit. Everytime I look at this game box or read a story about it, I'm pulled towards it. It's IMO the most incredibly crafted MMO out there... I just don't know anyone, almost the same problem you're having..

Yeah, the main reason I even considered resubbing to WoW was because I know like 50% of my side very well and about 10% of the horde side etc...

Whats fun is being in a guild that does a lot of events and what not, I actually formed a guild and we did like 4 events, but not being independent and having my mom interrupt me etc .... it got hard to manage the kinship.

BUT when we DID have events etc, it was one hell of a good time... the Kinship disbanded after like 3 weeks though because me and my second in command were both busy with school and not active so people just left...

Also, what server were you in? I hear Elendilmir and Brandywine are well populated servers... I myself am in Landroval, which is pretty populated but last time I checked it was a bit deserted at times.

Because they want everything or nothing.

I like your idea, and if personally I was to make an MMO I would make a pathetic one zone game with no details or anything, but a full combat system and bunch of NPC's etc...

Just to see if people enjoy the concept, and if they do... I work on it... if they dont, get feed back and do the same thing over.

If only MMO companies did this, it might take ssaaaay a year longer (Thats like over killing it, maybe 6 Months max but incase they fail a bunch of times... give them a year) to develop the game than its supposed to... but they will succeed with almost absolute certainty.

I bought LOTRO in May and played it for ..... hmmm .... about 4 or 5 months total on and off.

After a while, I got a bit bored of it and quit... I had nothing else to do so I kicked up my WoW subscription after a long time, enjoyed for a few days and got bored to death for the very reason I quit WoW in the first place.

Ok so now, whenever I see my LOTRO game box I just feel so tempted to play it, and every time I look at some videos or screen shots I keep coming closer and closer to being a player once again.

Eeek, I think im having withdrawal symptoms!

I never got past level 20, and am a really big fan of PvP. I really liked the PvMP idea and always thought it was cool and enjoyed it.

One of the reasons I quit was that I could almost never get a group, and level from over 20 just got boring (Just one bloody zone... or thats what I thought atleast)

But now im thinking of coming back, with so many small additions and an upcoming expansion, im so hyped about LOTRO again.

Any advice?

P.S. I was on Landroval

Haha yeah thats true, best thing to do is just keep it on all night and wait till morning...

But I agree with the 3 bucks to mail to an up to date disk, but think of it this way.... its gonna cost what... 10-15 bucks for 1-3 day shipping?

So in those 3 days you can just download them all....

Or if its for like 5 bucks its gonna take atleast a week to get to you.

Took me 5 hours to update Vanguard (ATLEAST, im sure it took a bit more than that)

And it took me 2 hours to update Lord of the Rings Online on my friends computer with the CD I bought a month or two after release...

Do keep in mind there's been Book 9, Book 10, Book 11, and now Book 12... its gonna take a while, but it shouldn't take that long.
