Isn't Aventurine Greece company? Big suprise that you should give money for promises, deja vu. And wasn't DF largely financed by goverment? I think that money tap is pretty dry nowdays. Well atleast you get something for your money, unlike the goverments. Unless you are accountant in Greece goverment it doesn't take long to count 1+1 ain't 3.

[Column] Rift: Surpassing Azeroth
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 10/16/12 8:18:19 AM
Originally posted by MMOGamer71 Yeah because no MMO launched same time as WoW, oh wait there was EQ2, CoH, Ryzom and Matrix Online. All big names, all flopped. All this shit about WoW been right place, right time is such a bullshit. And Bill can hype Rift as much as any fanboy can, it still won't make it better game than WoW. |

lol don't do this when installing a new windows OS.
Hardware « General Discussion 10/16/12 7:56:17 AM
I don't find any reason why anyone would want to do this. Installing Windows on SSD makes it lot faster. Trying to break installation is just silly and asking troubles, plus you hardly gain anything. Personally I have found using SSD for OS and other for games best combination in terms of performance.

[Review] Vanguard: Saga of Heroes: The F2P Review
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 10/03/12 3:12:31 AM
I really don't get this moaning nowdays. First you say it's great game, then you say F2P is faulty and yet you refuse to pay any money, seriously?!? If it really is that great game people should be subbing it instantly after trying F2P, but they aren't. I find Vanguard, yet again, over hyped and not that good game. It was and is a betamax in DVD world. There is no free meals, get over it. |

City of Heroes: NCSoft Responds to 'Save CoH' Movement
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 10/03/12 3:05:28 AM
I'm not suprised that CoH is going down, I'm suprised it lasted this long. Apart from great character creation and different setting it was highly repeative on so many levels. But I guess lot of people loved it. Time to move on and stop moaning.

[Column] General: A BioWare Without 'The Doctors'
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/19/12 2:43:47 PM
Originally posted by Baseline Really bad comparison and only slightly true in one point. Firstly cost structure is totally different. Game industry is much like film industry. When you have to put 50 million dollars for product that will be ready in 2-5 years and has high risk of never returning that money. Majority of game studios fail because they are playing poker with all-in all time. They might win hand but it takes just one hit to go down. Only similiar thing with McDonalds and EA is that they can lose hand simply because they are so big. Game industry is less fun nowdays. Back in 90's you could make really good AAA grade game with just 20 people, not much management in that. Now you need hundreds and probaply 20 people just to manage that. Same time gamers are more demanding and less interested to spend time with your product. |

Originally posted by Thradok They only asked for 25k$ thats why I counted for that. Again even with this extra cash leaves open who pays the human cost? I find it weird that they needed to ask 25k$ for tools yet they have enough money to support 150k$/yr for life costs of 3 people. Or are they working this as hobby besides real jobs? Also keep mind that KS takes like 10% or something. |

[Editorial] General: Modern PVP Sucks and Here's Why
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 8/22/12 2:51:55 AM
"perhaps too difficult for a new gaming culture that is bred on quick matches and a lack of brain." Get a stick granpa Adam, you elitist ****! This loathed modern PvP is hundred times better than imagination shit you had in old days, and boy was it shit. Elitist ***holes making up how great battles was and other utter nonsense. I always remember those elitist ****s raising themself as generals and trying to give crappy orders only to be responded with John Cena trademark move pushing them to crybaby on forums. |

It's not scam but I wouldn't get high hopes. If you bother reading bios of makers I fail to see any example of MMO project that they been part. Infact most is just babbling how they like games etc. Stuff that always makes me smile: "Now, with the fantastic support of leading software company Havok " -means we bought Havok license, wau Havok engine costs about 10k$ if you believe what people write in forums plus 7,5k$ for Raknet leaves them with 7,5k$ for rest of stuff. Ofc they don't need to pay those now since both allow rather flexible licensing. Ofc employing one person for year costs nearly 50k$ so software is cheap. Overall this feels like Mortal Online again. Inexperienced team, high hopes, using new tools, pushing tools to limit and over, very limited budget and aiming very small but demanding customer group. |

Originally posted by Odinthedark1 It all depens on your RAID Hardware, I would assume it's integrated on your motherboard, check those manuals. Also not all SATA ports are part of RAID so you might need to check if you have connected both HDDs on right ports (again check your RAID HW manual). Usually after BIOS boot the RAID system will boot (if it's activated on BIOS) and you see splash screen with instructions how to access that RAID controller software(usually something like ALT+F2). Keep mind when you make RAID array those HDDs that you want to be part of array will be cleaned, so backup all material. If you have already HDD(that is not part of your RAID array) with system on it, you can usually find RAID software where you can make RAID array more easily than in BIOS style RAID bootloaders. |

I'm sorry but actual figure is more like 150k(125k have played in last 24h) than 500k. 500k has TRIED the mod. Still nice figure for alpha mod althou ARMA2 has sold over 2 million copies so that would mean only 25% of owners have tried free mod. |

Indie devs, small companies - are the future for gaming then...
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/29/12 7:01:52 AM
whole hype dies and we are back in normal. Indie games are overhyped nowdays. It's like people think they are new thing, fact is that they been there always. There is no new ideas, most are ripped from 90s console games. Thanks to better development tools there is more quality indie games but same time amount of junk games have increased as well. |

"Rocket", developer of DayZ mod, told to stop ALL work on Arma3!!!
General Discussion « DayZ 6/07/12 6:56:33 AM
Originally posted by CujoSWAoA So far I haven't seen anything exciting. Graphics will get upgrade but they aren't really problem. Poor AI, no good gun control, lack of realism (they should really take ACE as base for realism), vechile physics, etc. I'm actually glad they push Dayz out as own product and not blend down ARMA as it's, a true army simulator. Personally I'm finding much more fun playing dynamic zombie generator map with friends than Dayz since all problems getting on same server. Hopefully they can solve these problems when it's not just mod anymore, also hopefully they finally get control of server admins that kick players to let friends in. |

General: System Mechanic – A Must Have App for PC Geeks
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 5/22/12 2:57:39 AM
Totally useless software. Stay away from anything that tries to "optimize" your computer it's pure hoax. There is only 3 thing you should do to maintain your computer: 1) Backup regulary. Use cloud like Skydrive for your most precious files such as fotos and documents, stuff that you can't get back if something happens. 2) Run cleaning software regulary. You can rarely break something with CCleaner, if you do try using Last Working Settings before OS starts. You get there by pressing F8 during boot. 3) Don't install shit. Stay away from all crap with "optional extras", if there is good Open Source alternative use it instead. If you own Windows 7, you don't need to do defrag since OS will do it itself. And NEVER defrag SDDs!!! Auslogic defrag is good add but most don't need it. You should try to have 2 separate HDDs, one for OS and software and other for your files. Get free antivirus, MSE(Microsoft Security Essential) is good and usually you don't even notice it. Never follow those guides that recommend you to shut down services, you gain maybe 1% more performance but screw up system. |

DayZ. A game mod better than all MMO's i've played in the last 5 years or so.
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/20/12 11:41:45 AM
Originally posted by Consensus Because it's hardly a game, it's mod for multiplayer MMO with persistent storage. It really doesn't tick any general MMO boxes, it's bit like MOBA but not really even that now. And this shows some of the negative points. One annoying part is that devs don't own servers, so basicly if server admins is a-hole they can't really do nothing about it. There is quite lot stories how people are kicked out of servers so admins friends can come play. Second is server population. Sure it's now big but sometimes you might end up server where 90% are teaming up against others. It ruins the experience badly. Ofc lack of true control means no way to deal cheaters, other than kicking them maybe. It's a nice idea that deserves to be own game instead of just mod. |

Cracked: 5 Reasons 'Diablo III' Represents Gaming's Annoying Future
General Discussion « Diablo 3 5/20/12 11:20:03 AM
Originally posted by AdamTM Ofc you have plenty of evidence of this. Unfortunatly it's impossible to show how piracy affects sales since there is so many factors that affect sales. So it's really up to companies to decide how they deal with it. One good question is ofc why console games sell better on consoles than in PCs? Again there is so many explanations as there is people. Again article is plain shit. Why moan stuff that he already knew, it just shows how spoiled idiots people nowdays are. Again I personally didn't buy D3, end of story and no moaning. Only way to vote in this game is by buying or not buying. |

Originally posted by adderVXI Six-updater will work with Steam version of Arma2. Six-updater itself is bit weird to use first but very powerfull at the end. Mod is OK, seems like big problem is corrupted server admins that are kicking players out to make room for friends. Unfortunatly devs can't do anything about this and problem will get worst if servers are full all time. |
