Well it's sunday and all is hell in Neva, Navi or what a hell its called. Lets recap some events: Friday, game is playable and server reboot is done when SV people leave office. Saturday, NPCs are dropping thru buildings and having graphical glitches. Desync issues are growing, server and client doesn't seem to communicate unless needed. Sunday, Major lag and NPCs bugging. Whole MO reminds me old MMOs, constant server reboots, design flaws and amateur mistakes all over. I guess that what is called UO heritage. |

You seem to think Allods character system is so much better but it hardly is, you can already start seeing certain uber builds coming. Also there seems to be no class balance which they will need to fix. Lore, please you making me laugh. Copying WoW isn't bad thing, but they didn't bother refine ideas enough to make it unique game. Personally I have little faith on F2P games, they often start fine but ones they figure out most don't want to pay they buff CS too much and ruin game. |

Poll: How would you rate the open beta thus far?

On that trip I experienced pure boredom that I have never experienced on any other MMO. There was no one to talk since no chat, there was no quick recall, there was no mobs to kiil, the view had bored to death long ago, I couldn't alt+tab since I had to turn sometimes, it was pure boredom for almost 15mins. I have nothing against hardcore games as long as they are hard, but making everything just painfully diffucult to do isn't hard. One of best games are hard, but still very enjoyable to play. |

Partly agree. Graphics aren't awesome. If you look far it looks very good(sky), at close it looks nice(trees, plats and animals) and hideous on icons(seriously is this 90's???). Problem also is that everything feels really static. Sure there is farms, buildings and stuff but they don't have any animation or anything. Also fauna and flora feels scattered, there is no real themes on places, everthing is just planted around to fill empty space. Also things are overly big, making everything feel even more scattered. Animation is horrible on those part that it exists, which isn't much. All UI elements look like coming from 90's Linux desktop. Also the color palet is very brown and dirty, this makes everything lot darker and uglier. Usage of brighter colors and counter colors would make it much prettier yet realistic. Huge problem is also communication. Sometimes running around you feel like playing single game. Atleast some sort of chat would be needed. Also OB community seems to have lot of mute players, nobody answers anything when you talk to them, suddenly you find yourself missing even Barrens chat. Bugs, lag, dsync issues are just tip of iceberg. There isn't enough stuff, they build huge sandbox but there isn't enough to do. Most of the time I feel like being wood puppet, there isn't natural moving and having to switch mousemode and back is pain. There is so many design fails that they will back bite somepoint. I give 2/10 also since it is way too raw game. If SV would have just made small sandbox with lots of toys it might have worked. |

Hardly a reason for NcSoft to ban HIM! I mean clearly they gone nuts but since this is NcSoft I'm not suprised. They have really crappy customer service. |

No point really. I tried it again and it was pure ghost town in T2-T3 with usually less than 10 players per zone. Also I never liked repeative PvE (hubs were cool first but got boring after you find out that all maps were carbon copies) so going back and trying do those alone wasn't fun. PvP instances and RvR was still fun but lack of players made it less exciting. It might be more fun ones you hit lvl cap but getting there is too much pain for me. |

Where do you stand on the game being instanced?
General Discussion « Star Trek Online 1/11/10 5:30:18 AM
Instanced open world is so 90's and should disappier from MMOs. Why, because its technical problem nothing else. Ever since WoW came popular I been wondering why some companies still use instanced open worlds, it ruins feeling and just proofs they didn't evolve. I don't mind instanced battlefields or pve instances, but open world should be just one instance. |

True competition is driving DF population towards optimal build, this makes RPG component somewhat lacking. Sure you can do RPG but don't bother getting symphaty from highly competive dicks. That's the reason why I don't play this game and why my friend does. It's also reason why I never play anything against him because he is highly competive dick and that makes me wanna punch him, again. Plainly OP DF is wrong game to you. |

What does this game do different than DFO?
General Discussion « Mortal Online 12/16/09 4:57:01 AM
Well done mister/miss fanboi, you just listed features that most aren't in MO. Only housing is there and it reminds much of DF system. Listing things that doesn't even excist in MO is true sign of fanboism.
True, except animation is somewhat jerky sometimes. None the less, point.
Rubbish. Even SV developers are tampering with combat speed, just to point it isn't nowhere near to be done. Combat is slow and hugely prone to lag, you need more luck than skill after getting used to it.
"Oh my MMO has truly realistic crafting where webcam smoothly transfers players movement and offers feedback by FanboiBullshiter4000 usb-device." That statement is as true as your statement on MO crafting. MO crafting is totally lacking thus all you say is false!
True points, I give you points for those because they actually are true. I won't bother argue how stupid these artificial limits are and prone to cause lot of problems. What you really just say are small details. Comparing MO and DF is pretty much same as comparing two flavors of ice cream. Where as MMO like WoW is more like carrot, both icecream and carrot are foods. Truth is that DF and MO are really similiar: No dungeons. All open world. Crafting oriented. Meaning most are crafted. "Skill" based. Meaning there isn't ultimate weapons compared to WoW. No true goals. Again compare WoW which is tier based. Sandboxes. Gothic view. Everything is "realistic" and dark. Hardcore attidute.

General Discussion « Mortal Online 12/08/09 4:40:00 AM
Difference between DF and MO? Well DF has fans who hate MO and MO has fans that hate DF, simply. Basicly they are very same kind a games. Ignore most of comments since they seem to be "Oh it WILL be great" type fanboi comments. Currently MO is very simple and almost all things people are advertising are missing or just plain stubs. Everything is very basic and buggy, basicly you will be working as internal tester. So if you want to play NOW game full of hardcore asshole fanbois, FFA, "true" PvP and other hardcore shit: Go buy DF. MO won't be anywhere near same state until 6 months or so. My advice would be wait 6 months and then compare these two games, ofc it's highly possible that neither of them excists then. |

Hate to break it to ya guys, but my Mac is just as good a general purpose gaming rig as the next guy, and better regular day to day computer to boot. But no one knows until they finally make the switch. Only difference ofc that you pay lot of overprice for PC that can run Mac OS legally, which ofc can't run most games so you end up bootcamping back to Windows all time you want to play more than those 10 games. As for AION this whole article is basicaly a "use bootcamp" answer. Which makes whole article totally pointless. Like I said Macs are PCs, been since they moved away from PPC (PowerPC). Whole article could been just simple "How to run Aion on Mac? Use Windows." For some reason Windows ALWAYS runs hotter than OS X does on the same equipment. Best thing is to upgrade drivers with non-Apple versions, they much more optimized. |

What I understand is that combat is really same way as Darkfall. Atleast in start it's more melee-ranged based without so much magic. They atleast try to make ruleset to reward true combat instead of gankin and macroing. Economy seems to based on crafting instead of mob grinding, no clue does items broke to make it real economy. PVE is big mystery. They haven't showed any so it's unclear is there anything ready or is it in starting position. I think there main goal is make partial release with most stuff missing and add them in time based. All I can say is that game sounds intresting but I'm really skeptic how well they can keep up player base after release. |

The traditional "Oh crap I didn't get in" thread

Great thing that SV is telling which block you can get in. Since atleast 1 person has confirmed been in block C means atleast aprox. 6k people have bought game, not bad giving it was bit more expensive and state of game. |

Okey I didn't buy game in the end since I calculated having really narrow change to get first beta blocks for summer holiday. So I would like to people who did buy but didn't get in first block to answer on this post. It's pretty bad way to determine popularity of game but atleast it gives us some kind a indication how popular this game is. Please no junk posts. |

Outrageous... $75 for the normal version? $115 for full-loot version? Obama... I need a bailout!

OP: Based on MO site preview of shop you don't need to buy boxed or any physical edition but you can still preorder digital download. Or have they changed this? |
