Tanks cut down the usefulness of zerging in a big way.

Making tanks viable in rvr was one of the best things mythic did.

Dont choose a side. Choose a class.

Very good advice. Anyways, too the topic:

I brought up the issue of Destruction being the "new" alliance of warhammer to my war guildies who also happened to have played WoW beta.  Their response:

In WoW beta, horde outnumbered alliance because everybody wanted to be horde.  Then, everybody (the beta community) saw that the majority was playing horde so they decided to roll alliance come release, because they wanted to be the underdogs/ less populated side and they assumed that alliance would be that side.

Well this caused a chain reaction because the new players that came in didn't care about being on the underdog/less populated side.  Instead they just wanted to join the side that had the most people, or where their friends and experienced players were playing(which was the beta community).  This of course led to alliance being much more populated then horde at release.

So my guildies predicted the same thing would happen to warhammer.  Everybody in beta favors desruction right now.  Those same players will decide to roll Order in order to be the underdogs and play the less populated side.  This will then cause order to be the HIGHER populated side come release and thus being the new alliance.

I can't say if I agree with the logic %100 but my guildies have experienced it and believe desruction will be the underdog come release, that is why we are staying destruction.

The game isn't bad.  Sci-fi isn't my thing thats why I don't continue my subscription.

Anyways, Tabula Rasa is on sell at my local fry's electronics store for.... a whopping $4.99.

Before that, it was on sell for $9.99.

They are probably trying to make room for War's release.

This game seems as though it is following in the footsteps of planetside: Good idea, good mechanics, but not a break out success.

I played a Zealot till level 16.  I would have leveled up more but I had to reformat my computer.

My experience is RVR is pretty much, heal, heal heal, throw a dot and instant cast nuke, heal, heal, heal.

Basically, if I were to just sit back and be a healbot, I wouldn't be as effective as I could be.  I hadn't reached the point where I had any CC or interrupt abilities but I hear that later the Zealot gets some of those.  Also, the Zealot's main stat they stack is willpower which increases hps (healing per second) and also increases the chance to interrupt your target.

I will admit, before I picked up my Renown gear I earned through ranking up, I was super squishy.  I would die easily, even if I focused healed just myself.  You learn quickly as a healer that a good tank is your best friend.  I have been greatly outnumbered and still was able to survive (and keep my allies alive) by having a smart tank and smart dps do their job (it also helps when the opposing force goes after your tank instead of you lol).

Healing is fun and rewarding.  I almost always have the top renown earned on my side in scenarios.  Even if I am the first to be targeted by the enemy, it is rewarding to know that I make a big difference on the battlefield.

What I think is that WAR , will no question about it be the second ranked p2p MMO

It may even reach 2 million players (or more if its get ported to asia)

It will never be popular as WOW , but thats the dead race.

WOW had over 4 years being the single and only quality MMO , and it has build quite some following.

And it is PVE game , while PVP Warhammer is bit more niche

WoW is hardley the ONLY quality MMO out today, not by a long shot.

Sadly, it is.

Hm I cant agree with you on that.  Don't get me wrong, I know WoW is a great game, but I don't think it's alone in it's superior quality.  No, I think Eve is definitely something that should be considered as another top mmorpg.

1.Oblivion for ps3 (paid $7.77 for a brand new copy...what a steal)!

2. Battlefield:Bad company for PS3 (unbalanced, no teamwork or communication, fun when not pissed off).

3. Counter Strike: Source for PC (Loaded up after not playing for months....damn my skill went down.)

4. Free-cell for PC (I get bored with solitaire and minesweeper).

I dont like elves (dark and......opposite of dark) in general.  Only elf class I thought looked kickass was shadow guard, and they took that out .

I think empire needs to look a bit cooler.

Dwarfs are fine.

What I got from your post was

"I want Eve in a fantasy skin".

Minus a few things here and there, but you regress.

The rogue tree is generally in the right direction, going with the combat tree.  But EVERY rogue, no matter focusing on pvp, pve, or leveling, grabs 5/5 malice in assassination.

Here is a more accurate rogue leveling build.

I play alot of games, I wont elaborate, and one of my fav past times besides my weekly 4 night WOW sunwell raids (which takes about 2-3 hours) is playing WW2Online (battlegroundeurope) a mmofps. I sometimes spend the whole night and well into the morning playing this game. Its a massive capture the flag in WW2 era where you play allied or axis and win when you own 90% of the map (which is no small task and takes 2-6 months). Ok the point is you dont get loot you dont get buffs or any stuff like that just medals if you do really good which have no ingame effects but ppl LOVE IT. Each time a new campaign starts we get hyped and replan how we gonna beat the other side.

Now lets take WAR, similar except you get loot, you get titles, achievements, end game public quests in the enemy city and who knows what else bunch of stuff when you "win". And ppl will say this is it? But thats not it, restarting is gonna rock, like the next chapter of a book. You want to do something different, you want to own more forts (your alliance) you want to do something that puts you and your guild on that server's hall of fame thingy. It is competitive, you compete against other players,  and every battle wont be the same. WW2Online is on its 45th campaign, 7 years, and i've been active for a good 10 campaigns of it and am having a blast still.

Let's take WoW's endgame: raids. It is all the same. Same every week, that same trash that same bosses, it gets boring fast once you are done. Ok then there is the WoW pvp, arena. You find more and more ppl doing arenas now, why? cause its the only thing to do besides endgame raids? Yes. Because you get to compete against other players? Yes. Compete, competition. Mhmmm.

Ok now something else that has been on my mind, the newbies, the casuals. Imagine you are new to WoW, ok you get the basics you level up see the game world, nice world, go around, kill that 1st enemy player, woot!, do instances. In about say 2-4 months you hit 70 then start doing karas and try at bg's arenas. What are you doing? Trying to get loot for yourself so you can get into a better guild and see the nasty endgame raid content everyone is talking about. Oooh sunwell, hmm oh well just wanna see Illiadian b4 expansion hits. But WHAT HAPPENS? You dont get a chance, why? your loot sucks your skills suck, you cant make raid times, or something. Uhoh, then what? oh well do some battlegrounds, hang around with friends in kara etc. Ok...

Lets take WAR, you enter the world, and after the few lowbie levels you get to do your 1st RvR scenario woot. You fight, experience that nice first COMPETITION, get to laugh at the enemy who tried to run away or curse some of them who zergs you. YOU get nice items and and on top of that your REALM gains from it. Right on, self gain +guild gain + realm gain, nice something more to play for.

Endgame WAR for casuals, you log on find a nice raid going on on an enemy keep or something join right in (every bit helps) you have a crazy time for 2-3 hours and at end after some monitor headbanging rush you logout feeling content that you HELPED your side however little and gained something from it too.

Holy crap look at that, if you read this then you are either SOO bored or you are EAGERLY waiting for WAR.

kk I wasnt trying to ditch WOW, I love WoW been playing for 3 years, just nothing to do now. I've been waiting something like this for a while and cant wait for the release. Hope it doesnt flop.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmkay

I personally think the Hello Kitty Online players that switch over to WAR will shine the brightest.  They have one thing up their sleeves that many people don't have and that's playing as a pussy.

And we all know that mmorpgs are filled with dicks.  And what is the one weakness to a dick? Thats right, pussy.

[2008-08-11 21:47:18]  *** WARBits: PIECE 25 FAILED HASH CHECK

This is in the error log while downloading the torrent.  This response shows twice in the error log output, it caught my attention as the file segment could be compromised. The MD5 is not matching up which means its been edited from it's orginal.  Just some food for thought, I would like an offical response if at all possible before I launch the setup file.

I thank you in advance for your time.

Cheers

idiot, your bittorrent client discards that piece and will redownload it.

you will always have some broken bits when downloading large files over p2p.

what official response do you expect?

Seems a tad harsh to call someone an idiot over this matter.

HALP! HAXORS GOT INTO MYTHIC COMPUTERS AND ARE TRYING TO GIVE ME A VIRUS LOL! ALERT THE GOVERNMENT!

Because that is EXACTLY what he said in his original post.  GG you won the interweb

First off, I would just like to say that I played WoW for about 3 years on and off, but I no longer play in anticipation of WAR.

Anyways, many people complained that the burning crusade, which was released in january 2007, was pretty much more of the same old WoW.  There were a few tweaks (25-man raids, heroic mode instances) and some new additions (arena, shattrah, ect).  But many people just got tired of the game and left.  I think Blizzard realized this (along with listening to their player-base) and decided to reshape many things.

If you look at worldofraids.com you will see that blizzard is redoing MANY things.  Talents that people have been use to for the past 4 years are being completely reformed.  Vehicles and destructible buildings are becoming the norm in pvp.  Even casting is being reformatted in its entirety.  There are many other things I could list but I encourage everybody that is interested to check out worldofraids.com and see for themselves.

I won't be resubscribing anytime soon, but I think that WotLK has the potential to bring back many, many players.

The bigger a game's population gets, the more immature players you will see.  That is just the way it is.  You have to take the good with the bad.
