good question, and I have to say I agree.

But i do understand why people are going to want to play it.  All of the people sick of WoW, but who still like the basic game structure, will flock to this game.

And who knows, if AoC doesn't pan out to be as good as I am expecting i might even try it myself. ;-)

POTBS is the biggest waste of 50 bucks I have ever seen and it deserves to die.....

Still having problems..

Tried the other client and it worked fine, and installation and patching went smoothly, but right after I logged in and it said attempting to connect to game server, a sign popped up saying that I had an incorrect client and need the latest client 5.22.8

Whats up with that?

I downloaded the file from FilePlanet, but it won't let me install it.  I t says that there is a prblem w/ the installer.  Downloading it again because my search engine said taht the file didn't exist.

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem

or if anyone knows how I can fix this

p.s. I have vista.lol

I don't really care if there are no full servers, but is it like you can go 1-2 hours in a town w/ out seeing a single person??

I am currently looking for a new mmorpg to play while waiting for either AoC or Warhammer.  My biggest request is that I want a game w/out a million f***in instances.  I want freedom in the game aswell.  I want to be able to chose who I am, how I look, how I want to fight, etc.  And while I absolutely hate the idea of class based games ( yeah I am a huge fan of skill based games)  I realize that these kinds of games totally do not exist anymore.

In the past, I have played these games:

*WoW- got sick of the game after endgame

*EQ2- same as WoW, but with better graphics

*CoV/CoH- absolutley hate the zoning and those lame a$$ forcefeilds or whatever they are that surround them

*Runescape- not a bad game initially, but the click to move thing kinda bothers me after a while

*Guild Wars (all of them)- so sick of everything being instanced!

*Vangaurd- for those of you with excellent comps, I tottaly suggest this game.  For anyone with a mid-low lvl comp though, don't expect the characters to look like anything other than plastic barbie dolls.

*Lotro- been there done that.

*Wurm Online- dear god.  Not a huge graphics nut, but come on!  Last time I played they still had no walking or combat animations in the game.

I know there are some I am forgetting as well.  If I remeber them I will add them

In addition I also am a huge fan of the whole medeival thing.  So please people, I have been looking for a new mmo since I quit WoW 8 months ago.  Please someone give me faith that there are still mmorpgs  worth playing!

I totally agree with you, those companies are ridiculous.  If they would just listen to their customers, think how much more they would make, ESPECIALLY when it comes to an mmo.

I'm right there with you bud.  Even if some won't admit it, the MMO market is complete shit right now.

If you find a game w/ both of these, don't be too shy to enlighten me as well :)

 I Have tried Vangaurd, SWG, Guild Wars, Lotro, WoW (obviously, who hasnt?) EQ, EQ2, COH/V

And NONE of them have kept my attention for more than a  month at a time!

Can't wait for AoC!!!!

Damn this is a kick ass idea for a game!!!

I'm starting a revolution against both of these if anyone would like to join!!

If you guys haven't noticed, the MMO market totally sucks right now (in my opinion).  And I have not found a single game that can keep my attention for more than a couple days.

I am really looking forward to AoC, Earthrise, and ChampionsOnline (I think thats what its called), but I seriously need something to tide me off until one of these is released!

So please, I beg you all, what games are you guys playing right now?

Played:

WoW - got to 70, did some raids, got sick of it after a couple weeks

EQ2 - same game as WoW, with a little better graphics

Vanguard - comp can only handle game on low settings which makes characters look like barbie dolls

LOTRO - decent game, but not good enough to be paying monthly for

COV/COH - cannot stand all those bland instanced quests, and don't even get me started on that lame a$$ PvP.

Guild Wars - same as CoV,  cannot stand instances!!!

And yeah I realize that a game that is perfect in my opinion is, and probably always will be, non-existent, but if you guys got any good suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
