<3 FFXIV - just wish I had the time for a P2P MMO, I just wouldn't get my $15 worth.

With more and more MMOs coming to XB1, I'm still hopefully eventually they'll make a deal and we'll get FFXIV on XB1.

Maybe with the new Windows 10 + XB1 integration stuff they won't have a reason not to anymore.

About the only reason, as i understand things, that FFXIV;ARR isn't on XB1, is because Microsoft won't allow it, its worth bearing in mind that even on the PS3/4 FFXIV;ARR doesn't require PS+ (unless thats changed again recently!). Personally i think it would do wonders for the console community as a whole to have less segregation in games, take out the whole PS4 vs XB1 argument, and give console players a chance to play together without any antagonism, if FFXIV;ARR can be run on a  PS3 then there is no good reason it can't work on both the XBOX360 and XB1. Windows 10 is largely irrelevant in this particular argument tbh, its really about Microsoft in general.

Keep in mind that Final Fantasy 11 and 14 both have cross platform play also. So your PC and console players are all on the same servers. I wish more companies would realize this is a huge factor for many. I have many friends and family that are console players and I am a PC gamer (always have been). It is nice to be able to play together.

Isn't this the game that has already failed to meet a few of it's goals and dates for release to it's supporters already?

Don't get me wrong I love what McQuad tried to do with Vanguard, but it just seems like this company has failed to meet expectations one too many times already for many to place trust in them accomplishing much until they put some solid proof of product out.

What exactly does wow do better than ffx1v?

PVP. -  FF MMOs have never focused on PvP. Most do not play the game for that purpose.

Combat. - Combat is what you prefer... both MMOs have a solid combat system.

Raids.  - This is about 3% of the total player population in WoW or most MMOs

Community. -  FFXIV has WoW beat for it's community, much smaller than WoW but 100 times better.

Balance. -  FFXIV has very nice balance in their game. Classes play well and compliment each other. WoW keeps simplifying and removing options from their balance... oh wait they have never balanced their classes.

Game Engine. -  FFXIV since the revamp has one of the most solid game engines in any MMO! PERIOD.

Number of players. - LOL.... I hope this wasn't meant to be serious. I know many MMOs with small number players that are solid games. Besides isn't an actual "thing that Blizzard or SE does.

Loot progression. - Not everyone cares about the loot rat race. Most of the gear in FFXIV is gathered through crafting.

Leveling quests. - Are you including two ideas here? The quests in both games are good. Neither game does questing much different. The story in FFXIV is more important and maintained throughout your leveling experience.

I could go on.

FFXIV since Yoshi's revamp is one of the best overall performing MMOs on the market. You may not prefer the combat style or something else about it, but the fact remains that the game engine and coding used for the revamp has made the game performance solid. I played for a long time after the relaunch and during the early days. Since relaunch there is little performance, game engine and user interface wise I would ever complain about in this game.

The gamepad performance and programing alone is miles ahead of any other MMO on the market.... oh .... wait you can't play most MMOs with a gamepad can you?

I don't get it, I thought gaming sites said P2P was dead....yet FFXIV is doing fine and people are jumping F2P like Arecheage faster than rats from a sinking ship.

Which is further proof that it's the game that matters, not the monetizing of it (unless the monetizing actually hurts the game).

FFXIV is doing good, Wildstar is not (at least as of last time I heard about it), both are P2P, GW2 is doing good so far with no sub, archeage seems to not be going as good (again, from what I heard).

I won't deny that the monetization has a big influence that could help or hinder a game, but in the end, if the game is good, people will come, whether it's F2P, freemiun, B2P, P2P or anything in between.

Arche age doing fine, the problem they open to many server when people complain to open more when the rats leave a mmo after something they don't like in the game, is was not for everyone, Arche Age was that type of game never hold out ever was P2P people mass leave after a game comes out, why I knew this be for it came out just how the game was build was not ment to hand over people make it easy for them, was all about power, if people can't get there, they leave where they have more power.

ArcheAge at launch and then shortly after had like max 8-10 servers US side..... that's too many?

FF14 have long way to catch up to wow, is maybe 2nd or 3nd top sub mmo eve may have more. there both not going hit 1 mil. if didn't hit it be for there not going hit it now. Not saying is fail mmo, just never be as big as a monster like wow.

Last I checked FFXIV has 2.5 million or more now.

Sadly the more MMOs move to action combat the farther away we get from support classes. I really miss old school trinity, Tank, Heals, DSP and support. Most twitch MMOs that have support classes they are mostly DPS and never really make support players happy. I hope this trend ends soon.

No.

Proof is that a game like WOW has no more CC,support, debuff ect but only tank, dps and heal, support classes are gone because of players that care more about being pro and only look at numbers.

Oh, I remember those days when you would mark targets and sap one, sheep another and crowd control a few more or kite one.

NOw it's "Balls to the wall!" and blame the healer or tank because they couldn't "do their job".

One of the biggest reason I mostly PvP in WoW, Rift and a few others. Only place things feel like a real challenge, especially when you find a group to run with and works well together to CC and focus targets.

One thing I can say from the video is EVEN WITHOUT PLAYERS in the game the world is 100 times more alive and populated than ArcheAge was with players.

The game has great graphics and atmosphere to it, but it is a Korean MMO and they have had a tainted record for not being the most appealing to the American market and even EU.

I am watching and waiting.

one thing i wish they would do is make the worlds poof in different ways.  Like Rift's er, rifts, sometimes a fire plague, sometimes undead, sometimes the world might freeze or grow over in fungi.

every world ending in zombie apocalypse might get.... depressing?  after a while?

am i alone in that?

none the less it's a nice innovative idea that will probably get 60 bones from me.

Rift's ..... Rifts were great for about the first week after launch. Then the novelty wore off and you realized that if you did nothing to stop the invasion, the timer ended and everything went back to normal. No consequences, No world changing, No penalty for failing to stop the invasion.

Game looks interesting. Will say wasn't what i was expecting, all the instanced campaigns, but still looks good and will give it a go.  I will say the combat reminds me nothing of Tera, more Guild wars 2 and Wildstar tbh.

Defo worth keeping an eye on

Yeah, with so many of these lobby type MMO games in the works we really need a new title or subtitle. I enjoyed Guild Wars, but I did not and still would not categorize it as a MMO. It was more a multiplayer lobby online game and this one is looking like it will follow similar themes.

This game is introducing and enhancing some great concepts, but it fails to be called a MMO(RPG).

Disappointing.

The telegraphs and particle effects ruined WS and GW2 for me.

Same here.. All this with no block button is very concerning considering combat is what most people will be doing the majority of the time.

I do believe those can be turned off. I know in GW2 and ESO there is an option to turn them off if you don't like them.

I am not a fan of them being in the game period, but I can understand why they made them optional.

So far with the limited pre-alpha footage provided I am looking forward to see what else they have to offer.

This game brings the term "Money Grab" to a whole new level. Are they still charging a monthly fee to be a part of the Alpha/Beta testing?

I don't think Kickstarter as a whole and as an idea is bad, but if the company does not take the time to sift through the people posting false claims and make them responsible for what they are posting then the quality will dwindle and the amount of people willing to back anything on the site will drop drastically.

I personally have not found much that I was willing to support through the site. I feel if you want me to take the place of actual investors then I should also have an opportunity to reap rewards for investing in the project. I really don't care about virtual in game items.... show me the money.

8~ months, and they've made a new video they've put on the Kickstarter page demonstrating directly what they've been working on. This thing, right here https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/forgedchaos/trials-of-ascension/description is what he's referring to.

I'm just don't like seeing people get hated on for things they didn't even do. If you don't like the game because of things it actually did, fine, but they could make something really awesome if they got half a chance.

Here's the YouTube video of it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx7VRaP4g9o#t=13

And while I'm at it, here's a video showing and explaining their dynamic spawning system they've built. Themselves.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pznkuhH9r4s

And yes, this game will be that "something different" and awesome. If they succeed with the KickStarter.

Is there a reason why all their Youtube videos have comments turned off?

I am very reluctant to throw money at most of these Kickstarter games, but this raises a lot of red flags.

I think part of the Kickstarter for these games should include a 5 day pass to log into what they have working of the game before even supporting it. All this hopes and dreams without proof of product is getting old and there are many that are getting burned by these scams.

Just about everything you listed in your post was the same for me, but it was with FFXI. Some of the older MMOs just had features that made the game more community based and fun. We don't need to have our Twitter feed linked inside a game or Facebook to make it more community and social!

Leave the Twits and Faceys for the real world! We want immersion into a fantasy world where it can be shared with others that want to be a part of that world.

There is a lot to come back for and with 1.6 there will be even more. The Justice System will be in phase 1 with hopefully the intro to the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood on its way soon (?). Animation changes and the Champion System intro.

I have been playing on and off over the last few months and even right now it is fun to play.

Just an advertisement video for the game and nothing new to boot.

As they have explained in the forums they have had a big surge of new players and returning players.

When I had a problem with a gem store purchase last august it was solved in a few hours.

It isn't like ANet is known for their great support........

Being a customer of Anet for over 10 years now, always had good service.

Your experience does not equate to that of everyone else.....

Nor does your lack of service equate to everyones service.

I have had an Anet account for over 15 years and had little issue with support.

I love how many of them in much of their response since the firings is that "Nothing has changed"...... well...... A LOT HAS CHANGED! The fact that they have been told to respond that way or they feel they need to respond that way is a huge sign to the amount of change that has happened.

I would feel more at ease and trusting of the changes if they just acknowledged "Things have changed, but we are moving forward and here is what we are planning...." and just be open and upfront.

So....... a post that has the sole purpose of asking for people to fight and troll...
