This game is very good, i agree 100% After playing many polished games you can see how much effort went into this game and it tries to take a step up from WoW in many aspects. Like i said on another thread if this game had the ability to cater to the masses (low comp required - mind you it wouldn't have the amazing graphics) than you would see a large migration to this game - especially for those of us with raiding guilds etc in other games and friends that simply can't play this bc of their machines. If your bored with the other big titles out there try it, as they have a nice free trial (unlike some games lol VG) bc they are confident you will like it and purchase their product. Trial is available on the official Lotro site. I play EQ2 WoW and this - and this is the only game i don't feel like is a job to play atm. See you in landroval :D

Originally posted by Orthedos I think the answer here is simple... you guys miss your friends and a large scale community (sucks bc i am in this boat too). I feel like thats what people are overlooking - the fact that everyone can play WoW and not everyone can play lotro. The community just isn't there in terms of numbers and thats what makes a MMO exciting. Unfortunately many gamers still don't have rigs that can handle other games besides WoW and therefore guilds/friends are stuck on that game. If you had all your friends in Lotro it would be different, yes at cap you would be wondering what to do - YES in WoW you can bg for hours on end / arena / raid in WoW but after you have done those 3 things for month after month its not repetition thats enjoyable as much as exploration imo. |

I do not comment on these threads much but had to for this...First off i don't blame any of you for not liking the game as you pay to play and its your opinions.. BUT - Most of these complaints are from having too many quests (which most of the time people complain bc you have too little), or bc your not happy with the level 5-10 content (killing boars and spiders). These folks imo need to go back to their other "great" games if these are such serious issues for you. I have played just about every game out there and as for polish/content/graphics/ the list goes on Lotro is right up there with WoW (given its time being released) and the only game i can say that for. Eq2 comes close at first glance but after playing it you see the flaws shine through (long zone loads every couple of min - hitchy graphics - becoming a wow clone in terms of easiness). Those are the only two games that i believe compete with Wow in terms of overall quality. For what its worth this game is amazing - yes there are only 50 levels whoopdie do be happy you have so many WAR will only have 40 - and what when people cap in a week all of a sudden that game sucks too? And bc AoC has 80 levels it will be the best?!? I think you guys need to think about what's in between the levels of 1 and cap and compare to other games. Lotro is the most difficult of all the polished MMO's out there (go and quest in the high level zones and you will see what i mean). Dealing with things such as dread from mobs adds a new level of difficulty not to mention the insanely smart AI they have in this game. The fact that most quest chains lead to a group is good, and if you don't feel that way then you must miss the point of an MMO and should go play single player titles on ur console.. The only weak points i see with this game are End game content (Wow is king) and PvP (DAoC is king) - But seeing as this game was not directed at either of those and will probly gain more in those areas with time (it is the newest of the big titles) i see this game as a viable option for any serious MMO player - don't let the nay sayers fool you there WILL ALWAYS be complainers about everything. Some say WAR = WoW2...if so that's very bad for the rest of the industry and if you don't see it your blind. Lotro is a GREAT game but can never and will never compare to end game content like WoW has (the majority of time spent playing a game is at cap sadly and blizzard knew this and capitalized). And what do you think 10 million people are waiting for lolz WoW2.... PS - ALL games get boring after a while, it's about the fun you have while playing and not grinding yourself into boredom by playing too much - I love Wow for all the fun it has given me but you can't reverse the yrs everyone has played and their boredom setting in.
