the system is not acceptable

remove it and redeem yourself, keep it or modify it and watch the customers leave before you even make a dime off of them

oh and we have tested the stamina system, 2-4 hours at a time -.-

The stamina system forces people to pvp and that's the biggest issue('force'), but the basic intentions are not bad at all. I really like playing atlanica online, it's stands out due to its tactical combat system compared to other mmorpgs. and at least the dev try to make it a unique game instead of just releasing another hacknslay.

Hello ndoor employee..good moring to you..anyway as the community has stated the only real fix for the stamina system is to remove it.  No one wants to play a mmo that dictates to you how you can play and what you can do, this idea is crazy.  tell your developers to remove the system at once, its what the majority of your customers wants.  the korean version has no system and its doing fine, why should we have this sytem that punishes all but a few casual players and benefits no one. positive renforcement not negative is what you need to do get get the results you want. go on to the atlantica forums and read about it.

Also may i suggest that if you plan on impostering a real player, you might want to edit your user info.  my question is, why is someone from korea (as stated in your info) posting regarding this game, when you have your own version of atlantica with no stamina?  Seems you know an awful lot about this stamina system for someone who has their own local version that lacks this system.../exposed

so i suggest to you and your company to save your reputation and do what is right...shut the game down, get rid of this horrible system, and resume beta, before you community leaves you.  first game ive seen lose member before open beta even starts.

Well the community has tested the new stamina system.  Most were only able to test it for 2-4 hours since thats about how long stamina lasts.  To get more you must regester in a bugged pvp tournament system.  If it doesnt bugg out on you expect it to be nothing more than a scroll spam fest.  Seems that forcing people who didnt want to pvp to do so has had a negative effect on the quality of pvping.  Also if you win, your stamina reward is not even worth the effort.

That being said, if you like to grind expect about 1-2 hours of gameplay before your stamina runs out and you no longer get drops or exp, if you quest and grind expect 2-4 hours of play, if you dick around and dont do much you can stretch your stamina to last pretty long, but its boring at a low level.

Rest assured that when you hit level 51+ and your stamina is cut in half you will find that completing the high end mercenary quest to be a multi-day affair.  Also upgrading your mercenaries may take as long as a week, as youll need about 800 ashen crystals total.

The stamina system has kinda turned this game toward an uber gear wins game.  In cb1 everyone was able to grind for anything, things were more even, and pvp was based on how you played not what you played with.  Now i can see some people making mutiple accounts to farm, making one really over powerd team.

Truth be told, i dont see them removing a system that will definatly result in people heading to the cash shop to buy stamina items so that they can farm and play.  This will make paying player uber and free player really gimped, more so than a normal cash shop.

Its really sad to watch a game turn out like this, it had so much potential to be a free mmo with a cash shop that didnt make others uber.  There is a small ray of hope that the developers will remove the stamina system, but like i said its profits > community when it comes to free korean mmo's.

So this system works for those who play 2-3 hours a day, and dont mind being seriously gimped compared to the big cash shop spenders.

Only time will tell if the developers decide to choose community or profits =/

yup, the gm's said that they will listen to us, now it is up to the developers to take action and remedy this situation.  Im sure others can vouch for diffrent games where this has been the case, the community usualy loses these battles, especialy when dealing with a system designed to sell cash shop items, no matter the detriment of the game/community as a whole.  Mabey this company is diffrent, who knows.

but like i said, i think the community has been heard, the ball is now in the developers court.

Who cares, this forum is full of company self promoters, if you want to know what the atlantica community really thinks click on the website link and go to the forums, you will see that the two guys who posted about loving it have nothing to do with the actual community.

I actually tried it out a couple of hours today and I think that the Stamina system will do just fine with a little bit of touch up here and there in the future

ppl are already bashing about this new update without even testing for it, but I think this will effectively discourage botting in the live server and also let users to interact with each other and have just plain fun time together.  I think that's what MMO is all about, HAVING FUN TOGETHER!!.

Let's test the game more thoroughly and give Dev constructive feedbacks guys...I really really love this game and l see myself playing this game for a long time.

Well, the stamina system may not be so bad if you play an hour a day, but after level 50 you onl get 50 stamina per day.  Can you imagine what leveling will be then?  I got to 53 in closed beta 1 and i can assure you that 50 battles willnot get you anywhere.  Try getting the high end mercenaries with 50 battles...will take you a month.   Try upgrading 9 mercenaries when it takes 100 ashen crystals do do it per mercenary.

The problem is that this system helps uber casual players like you while at the same time drive away any moderate or hardcore player, we all know the hardcore players are the cash shops best friend.

It took me like 2 hours to completely use up my stamina on the first night of cb2.  Why? because i grinded on low level mobs so that i could have all of my mercenaries equipped.  this is how i play, i prepare my team then i quest and level up.  This system is nothing more than telling the community how to play, a HUGE no-no in an mmo.  This system is the inverse of a sandbox mmo.  The stamina was nothing more than a dark could hovering above me, every fight i watched my ability to play shink and shrink.  Regaining it isnt even worth it, i have to pvp battle someone for only 3 points? thats 3 battles...

This system may not seem like a huge deal to a casual player now, but even the casusals will be effected later on at 50+ when they only get to play for 30-45 minuets and those long quests at 50+ take weeks to finish.  Quest are not suppose to take weeks at a time to finish, at best your suppose to finish a quest in one sitting.

That being said stay away from this game untill ndoors removes this horific system.

* i would also like to point out that the OP has a seriously low post count, which tell me that he is affiliated with NDOORS, since i only saw one person on the official forums post something positive about the stamina system after trying it.  Even the 10-15 players who were optimistic about the stamina system before trying it have changed their minds and want it removed.

*listen you your damn community and remove this horible system*

anyways, I already uninstalled mine long ago, not really my type of game anyway, way too many grind and the battle system gets old quick.

No sir funcom didnt take over, what you have is some competition.  Funcom didnt lose a majority of their community during closed beta...did they?  A huge portion of the community here just quit after a few hours of closed beta due to this system.  Will NDOORS act? Only time will tell.  What has happend today is epic in the mmo gaming world.  Never seen a community go from happy and excited to play to furious and quitting in a matter of hours.  Pure crazyness over at atlantica online, sheer madness.

oh and the 2 hours i played was with 100 stamina, at lefl 51+ you only get 50 per day...i cant imagine how many years it would take to get from 50-100

but they gotta make the game horrible so they can sell STAMINA PILLS in the cash shop, which the remianing 50 players will surely be thankfull for.

I just got done with my first taste of CB2 and the new stamina system.  Less than 2 hours of gameplay and i must pvp fight to continue.  I get 3 stamina points for winning a pvp battle (i get to fight 3 mobs per pvp battle).  What this has done is turned pvp into a chore.  I now have to grind on pvp battles in order to advance my character, or i can wait untill tomorrow.

Also theres a serious patcher bug that isnt letting anyone log back on.

Things are not looking good for this game, and i would have to reccomend to stay away untill open beta.  Hopefully the developers will listen to the vast majority of the community and remove the stamina system (it doesnt exist in the korean version and they are way ahead of us in development stages)

So thats it, less than 2 hours of fun, then some pvp grinding, this is what your day playing Atlantic Online will be like under the new stamina system.  Have fun im back on the mmo hunt.

what everyone is going to do is when the server open in a few hours, fight 100 battles, log on to the forums and spam for the system to be removed....how are we even suppose to test the high level addons and maps if they limit it to 100 battle per day and only 50 per day at levels 50+

like i said on the official forums, they can either keep the community or keep the stamina system.

its down for me too... hopefully they are reading our posts and uninstalling their little stamina system.  ive never seen such a change of communtiy feelings toward a game in such a short time, i realy hope ndoor gets their act together and adresses this horrible system.

i bet they are wiping the forums, they must have gotten 3k posts complaining about the stamina system in a few hours.

before they announced the implimentation of this system the official forums were awash with excited and loyal players eager to play.

now the forums are in full scale riot mode.  if they dont remove this horrible system the game wont make a dime later on.

so far only 2-3 people are eager to try the system out, and one gm who says to try it then give feedback and they will listen (heard that before)

so as it looks now, this game will have little to no players come ob, unless this "worst system ever is removed"

oh and 100 battles is like the training area + 5 levels, can you imagine what being allowed 50 battles at lv 50+ will do, you get more stamina at 6pm every day, so if you play one day and use all your stamina, you must wait untill 6pm the next day in order to enjoy normal gameplay

They are testing this new function in game once closed beta 2 starts today, its kind of a shocking function in my opinion.

The new stamina function will goes as follows:

every day at a given time your given 100 stamina points, 50 stamina points if you are above level 50.

Every battle you lose one stamina point.  When stamina hits 0 you will no longer be allowed to gain any exp or items though fighting.

This is crazy.

So that its, in a korean grinder they now tell you you are only allowed 100 battles (battels are like fighting anywhere between 3-9 mobs) per day.  After 50 when the grind really starts you now only allowed to have 50 battles.  Worst idea ever.

I was a huge fan of this game after playing cb1, but after hearing this ive kind of lost some interest, very poor choice on the developers. im sure there is a cash shop item for stamina, very poor choice on the developers doing this.

This has got to be the best free mmo out there, well at least that I have tried. There is a lot to be said about it but I'm just too lazy right now. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask and I'l try to fill you in. Just wanted to post another thread about how good it is so that others sitting on the fence about whether or not to download and instal it might be more inclined.

I love how people claim this after a short play...give it a few weeks, youll see.  A few weeks of beta and tired of it, nothing to do but grind, clumsy pvp controls, unbalaced classes, major gameplay flaws...  wait till you notice the gameplay flaws.  They didnt fix any of this after beta either.  Oh and no global chat for free players...how boring.  but it is gore-porn if your into that.

oh and whay does everyone who starts these "best free mmo ever" threads always have to mention they just came from AoC...no one gives a rats ass

I would never, not just because i dont trust the gold farmer sites (i dont) with my cc# but also because its like paying for more bots in game.

You buy the gold with real money, that gold farmer now has to bot more to replenish his funds, the more people buy, the more bots go up.

Soon other botter companies get wind of the first farmers profits...all of a sudden the game gets clogged with bots, this happens in a LOT of games.  Then you guys bitch about the amount of bots.

Then there is the economy of the game that collapses.  A normal game, i will be able to save up for a decent weapon/armor/whatever. In a game where people use RMT gold farmer sites, i see prices for decent equipment beyond what a normal person could ever aquire.  This will cause some people to buy gold, so they can buy the inflated items.  Now that the inflated items are sol people know that other will pay that price.

So, one or two people buying another guys gold with real cash...not a problem...when you support the gold farmer "industry" it starts a slow decline of the game.  To me half the fun of playing these games is getting the money to buy the cool items.  So next time you play a game loaded with bots, farmer spam, and inflated prices on everything, you can thank the lazy folk who would rather pay real money for fake money.

I think that as long as people are willing to do anything to be the uber leet player in game, there will be idiots who would rather their beloved game go into decline, than to actually get these items through playing.  If you would rather pay someone else to get the gold for you or run a program to level and play for you then mabey playing a mmo isnt for you.

Hmm why do people not like neosteam?

Well im actually playing it now to burn time before atlantica comes online, but heres what you can expect.

RvR, which has the potential to be really fun, as you grind for xp bonuses on mobs in the pvp area, theres several maps split up by levels ranges.  these maps are small to encourage conflict between the sides and ofers a rang of mobs in the specified level range, all have expra exp added to encourage both sides to fight for spots to grind.....but the problem is that 70% of the game is Rogwell and 30% are Eledar(however you spell it)  This means that when the other side actually shows up you got a LOT of players waiting to jump on them, if your the other side, you have to grind near the gate out so you can flee when you get zerged.  SO what ends up happening is you get one RvR side grinding the best spot with several hard core pvpers camping the other sides entrance, if your this side you will usualy give up trying to grind here after a bit.  this leaves packs of hungly pvpers waiting for the other side to show up.   If the sides were even and there was more conflict it would actually be fun. That being said, it has the potential for good RvR but it doesnt  come through.

Quests:  look for lots of multiple part quests that have you running all over the place, you get the reward after completing all parts.  Usualy they arent even worth doing, the less you do the more the npc's spam you in town.  The travel syswtem between towns and RvR map is great, but traveling from town to the farming zones is confusing and doesnt work very well.  You will find yourself doing a lot of slow running, several times, before you get a meager amount of xp and gold.  You dont get weapons or armor, you get that though this seemingly never ending trial box, that is level locked and contains your armor and weapons for that level range, and another box for the next level range.

Origionality:  very little here, theres steam, which is like another stat (like SP or MP) thats used for various attacks and traveling.  Other than that this games like all other asian grinders (except if offers RvR)

Grind:  Very grindy game, most of the quests are tedious an boring, which will leave you party grinding on the RvR maps for hours and hours to get a level or two.  Other than a few low level events and some RvR events your grinding in the same spot (usualy fighting with yor own side for possesion of the best spot) if your the under populated side you really cant take advantage of grinding on the RvR map for extra xp since you will get punded by team after team from the other side untill yo give up.  Theres just too many on one side.

So there you have it, everything you expect from an asian grinder with a cash shop. Nothing new, has a tiny bit of potential if the sides even out, but they wont.  So this is why people dont like Neosteam, same game diffrent skin.  I would compare it to Flyff only with RvR.

The problem, as i see it, is that all of the terrible mmo's keep making money.  The 100's of cookie cutter asian grinders that are shallow and free keep making money.  The trend has gone to release a pretty game with good graphics as fast as possible, resulting in a lack of quality and long term playability.  There is a good reason for this, they make money.

People jump in, use the cash shop or pay for a few months p2p, get bored, move on and repeat.  What has happend is that someone figured out that mmo fans are willing to pay for a short time on almost any game, untill they figure out its boring and move on.  This style of play caters 100% to the f2p modle of screwing you in the wallet before you can figure out how boring the game actually is.  I think the only way for this trend to end is for someone to realese an epic game, that would suck all those f2p idiots into it, forcing korea to spend more than a day making their pretty graphics pair up with some in-depth gameplay.

The problem is its really risky, lots of time and money must be put on the line.  So while blockbuster, high production mmo's are a dying breed, they are being replaced with low budget f2p games with pretty graphics, that all use the same old style of gameplay.  I guess all we can do is complain and vote with our wallets, mabey someone out there is listining and willing to put millions on the line to satisfy a huge market of gamers looking for something that isnt out there.

hmm hack shield preventing botting....

mabey you dont remember the bot problem after a few days of beta, hell they even had gold spammers.

mabey that is not the case now since they disabled global chat, at the cost of ruining the community imo.

but other than that your spot on from how i feel this came turned out to be.

i tried the game out again but i deleted it after a few min.  before you choose you class i forgot how dull the game is, and with no global chat (as bad as it was during beta) it was even more boring. a lot of gore no substance.

Its a really fun game, where you level quickly with lots of quests, untill level 95ish.  The game completely changes into an asian grind fest.  Drops become rare and your forced to grind on the lower levelmaps to accumulate the money to grind the higher level maps.  A complete lack of variety in any armor weapons or character customization makes this game unbearibly boring. after lv95 your days of aoeing large groups of mobs turns into having to party to take down a sinlge mob.

as far as your skill levels go: if you casually play you will be skill gimped, you get stat bonuses with every level, both in magic and sword.  and if you lv 95 your not maxxed on both you will have little chance to pvp or rvr with any success.  it takes quite a while to level up both skills, and if you use the cash shop you can over night train on skill dummies by jamming a quarter in your keyboard (yawn) every night will get you about 10 skill points (more if you have less than 2/3 a skill level) that being said, after a full month of premium i was unable to obtain max skill level in anything, and i skill grinded too.
