Anyone have this problem? I loaded and activated the CoV trial, but everytime I try and create a villian, it flips back to the CoH interface and I can only create a hero. I've already played CoH and wanted to try out the Villian side. Any ideas whats wrong, or what I'm doing wrong? Can't seem to find anything on the CoV knowledge base. |

Should have read... "Man dies from Stupidity" not gaming.

I think they have said there will be a patch. (unless you are talking specifically about the cinematic)
When responding to questions about deleting the beta client the devs said that the beta client would be more current then the CD version. Nothing about cinematics, but if you have the beta client it may still be useful. |

City of Heroes: Collectors DVD Edition

I think NCSoft missed the boat here. All the real enthusiasts are already playing the game and put down significant coin to do it. You need to release this at launch if you really want to grab more revenue.
I think CoH is fading, WoW, EQ2, and the lack of gameplay depth must be starting to hurt. That and the only real light at the end of the tunnel (City of Villians) seems to be quite far off. NCSoft would be much better served doing something like this for the CoV launch.

Downloaded and tried this out yesterday. Game clearly is far from finished, graphics are behind the curve, and many simple golf elements are not implemented. (or are not in the plan, no idea) No backspin or stance effects. Camera angles need work. Game physics need tweaking, and the whole RPG element is only framed in at the moment. The multiplayer is moderately fun, but even if they get all that in I think the graphics might hold them back from any real success. |

I'd say DAOC. DAOC is much more mature in it's development, and has few if any bugs, and many polished game systems. I beta tested L2, and the graphics were a bit nicer, but very much an Anime style. Grouping was much less polished, interface was point and click to run which caused me a lot of grief. I can't comment on the L2 community, but the DAOC community can be hit or miss, much as I expect all MMORPGs are. Good luck and have fun! |

My interest seems to come and go. It's most influenced by meeting people I enjoy playing with, and if I meet people who are annoying to play with. What this tells me, is that while the game is certainly fun on the surface, it doesn't have long term staying power. I've explored all the Archtypes, but not all the powersets. I'm probably halfway between a casual and powergamer, so i'd be surprised if there wasn't a large majority of players that either feel like me, or will shortly. |
