Well, I glanced over it but there's one line I agree with:

"There is lots of talk amongst players, and MMO veterans in particular about how they often feel a little neglected by an industry that now has much more mainstream appeal."

YES. I feel that all the freakin' time.

Also, I've been meaning to give AoC a try, I probably will soon.

The one part that I can easily say I didn't like was the bar that appeared when an action was being done or an ability was being used. I see it too often in WoW and other things.

Other than that little thing, it looks quite good thus far, I'm still interested.

When I see the footage I just think it looks like WoW with a new paint job, the graphics look like they could have been done in 2003.

Go play a game from 2003, make sure it's actually made in 2003 and come back and see how untrue your message is.

I think your problem is that things are colorful, when you may actually want a Gears of War/Fallout gritty, dirty type world.

Because this does NOT look that cartoony or bad.

I don't speak for every post there is, and I personally actually look forward to this game, but there are actually a number of people that aren't idle complainers. Some people actually want to be heard because they have their own opinions about things and they want to discuss them. I just want to let you know, the "if you don't like it, don't use it" thing has never ever worked, because it's as ridiculous or more ridiculous than complaining about the thing in question.

Wow, really? I quit SWG after I figured out it sucked (no offense to people who like it, the combat system is bullocks).

Im pissed off

Take a chill pill. The download is free, they're just having billing issues.

While crafters are important, I don't there has ever been a game where crafters are more important than fighters.

And I'm not expecting (any good game at least) to change this.

I don't dislike crafting, it's just that it isn't interesting enough to make a main thing.

nice

Yeah the game is looking alright so far.

The actual targeting reticule and rpg elements look amazing.

I have some problems with it, like half the people have mohawks or dredlocks... this is very dumb. I don't care if the future lacks hair stylists, not every idiot is going to have a mohawk or dredlocks...

The environment, while supposedly huge, looks to have almost no variation whatsoever.

This isn't a big deal but I wish merchants wouldn't just stand there with the 'I am a merchant' text above their head... at least TRY to make it partially realistic.

I'm hoping this doesn't become a game where you have to hit a regular enemy in excess of 100 times to kill them, that's just stupid.

What are you talking about? Are you saying this game still has an active playerbase in europe!?

I see two german servers but they are as active or less active than the english server I play...

Yeah, turn-based has it's place but nothing beats this :P

Calm down spaz, the game is great... the current owners are just morons that are too busy picking their noses to update (btw if you disagree with me you are an anus and need to get a reality check).

This is probably one of the best games ever made, but for whatever reason everyone is abandoning it. Dunno why the sign-up is broken... sorry for your inability to play this great game.

Im pissed off

I agree... I don't understand how crappy mmos can have such success while this is on it's deathbed...

In my opnion this is a great game and if it had more advertising and people who updated and patched this would be a heavy contender in the MMO wars.

First, maybe you are a veteran gamer but it sounds presumptuous if you call yourself one.

I disagree mostly, while having an open environment that doesn't force you to do quests is nice, a game totally without tutorials and quests has been tried and it was a massive failure.

Tutorials and quests are an important part of mmos. Ever been thrown into a game without anyone telling you anything? It sucks.

I think this game has potential, while the graphics leave much to be desired, a game where you actually aim and fire at something and damage is determined by RPG elements is pretty much never been done.

Neocron and Tabula Rasa tried it, but in the end the 'aiming' that they claim to have is about the same as Star Wars Galaxies aiming system. Neocron just has a box around an enemy and if you fire in 'the box' you hit them. Tabula Rasa was close to this too.

One thing this has on Huxley, it actually has RPG elements. I've seen Huxley gameplay videos and it's pretty much Unreal Tournament under a different name... it looks like it will be a massive dissapointment (for me at least) unless they change it. They actually have a health and an armor bar that max at 100, this is a massive miss if you want anything rpg related.
