Aw man, used to love that game. Is it still full of bots?

I looked for a game like sro for ages, but for me the artwork and awesome animations for moves were the whole deal for me :) wish I could help you mang but it might be a while until you find what your looking for. Closest I got to finding sro memories in a game was probably Age of Conan but it didnt last long. AoC is free to play now too i think.

Goodluck.

to many souls...

Because a movie lasts for 2 hours max.

People watch movies and play games to have fun NOW, not to have fun in a few days.

Ahh your right, I will adjust my time then, form 4 minutes of review on a 90 minute movie to 4.8 minutes on a 120 minutes movie. Much better, and far more accurate than my estimations. Thanks for the correction there.

But yeah I agree, your absolutely right, people NOW want INSTANT gratification. So why exactly do they make movies that are 2 hours long again? Why not just make them 4.8 minutes long? It would seem more logical since we, as a society want our fun NOW, not in 2 hours.

No really, I do see what yoru saying, that people want thier entertainment in small packages. But if a gaming company came out and made an MMO that only had enough content for 10 hours, and then it was over - would you buy it?

The movie comparison just dosn't work, getting to lvl 20 where it supposedly gets fun (and bare in mind this is a total estimate) would take at least a total ingame time of around 30 hours, could be more if you're running around helping out friends, getting to know a new guild, doing all the quests etc. and that is just totally ridiculous. You want me to sit through 30+ hours of mind numbing kill this mob, run here, do this, do that, oh and here's your reward, a nice bunch of shiny skills and some armour? Then what's going through my mind is that all I have to do is rinse and repeat to get to lvl 30 where i get another bunch of the same thing. That, to me, is just crap.

Most people grind out a day at work for 8 hours, the last thing they want is to get home and think, "oh damn, now I've got to grind to level 20 before I can have any fun OR for my opinion of the game to matter".

Has anyone mentioned that Diablo 2 was released in 2000 and the expansion (which is what I played mostly online) was released in 2001? Blizzard would've taken some idea's from Warcraft but they would be minor in reference to characters. If anything World of Warcraft took idea's from Diablo 2. Keep in mind that they are the same F***ing company of course its going to match up in a lot of ways. Similar minds, similar games. ALSO keep in mind that prreeetty much every p2p game out there is the same in terms of quest system, interface, xp system, character party system, leveling system. Ya pretty much everything system out there.

Moral is, stop being such a turd and get on with your life.

See what another 2G of RAM does...

Thats all you can really do I think.

Well MMORPG FPS has hardly even come out let alone died.

I would love to have a combat system where if i shoot you in the head i get bonus points and am still able to buy better guns gear progress through levels. I think it would be a challenge to make a good RPG game with that style though.

Ew, Megan fox?

Lol anyways, i guess would be neat to have another warfare game.

Oh lol that's Megan Foxx? I swear she looks different every time I see her in something.

Oh and if it's going to be another MW game that has shitty MP and fairly run of the mill SP then I -don't- want to see it.

Cod 4: MW, is easily the best MP FPS game out, imo anyway . If the video reviews of this game are anything to go by MW 2 will be another epic edition to the genre. Especially with the spec ops LAN missions.

Lol, you didnt even read what he said.

Now you look stupid ah, ha, ha, ha....

Sorry but you make it sound a lot "easier" than it is to the casual gamer, which is why there has been a lot of "crying" about aion and leading to a lot of people getting sick of it. I dont know what your req xp is to next level but a 2 mill quest that takes 15-30 mins (for arguments sake) is pretty small when your xp to next level is around 10-15Mill.

I also realise people love playing the content which is fine, but making a thread basically saying to all the people who dont like some aspects of the game are "crying" and then backing that up with a LONG grind example.. Is just plain silly. The people maxing out are people with 12+ hours a day to play (Oh My God) or bots. Casuals are leaving for a reason; Its a grind and for me, not a fun one at all.

cheers

Yeah you cant really gimp a character at the start. However, it is important to have a plan as to which skills you choose to train. Here are the core skills all pilots need.

Really useful skills to fly a ship properly
Skills useful for all ships.
Very high priority - should be trained to a minimum of level IV.
1. Electronics (fit more stuff)
2. Engineering (fit more stuff)
3. Energy Management (more capacitor)
4. Energy Systems Operation (cap regenerates quicker)
5. Shield Management (more shields - harder to kill*)
6. Shield Operations (regenerate shield quicker*)
7. Repair Systems (repair armour more efficiently*)
8. Mechanic (more structure - harder to kill)
9. Hull Upgrades (fit better armor - harder to kill)
10. Navigation (fly faster)
11. Evasive Maneuvering (turn quicker)
12. Warp Drive Ops (warp farther)
13. Spaceship Command (turn quicker)

Other than this i would suggest training you learning skills to level 4 before your 100% training time bonus runs out at 1.6 mill skill points. Learning skills increase attributes and attributes determine how fast a skill will train. You can further increase attributes with implants. After this it's all about specializing your skills so you don't waste training time on skills you really don't need. It's the only way to really gimp a character and why some people choose to have more than one account.

Plex is great it's just like buying currency online. Buy the plex for cash and sell it for isk. You can also use them to add game time to your account. You won't be able to buy them with ingame isk any time soon as they cost hundreds of million isk.

Bookmarked this page because of this. Thanks mate, really good guide! 4 days into EVE and im having a ball. Had a pretty terrible first day though :P

People are crying because its shit boring to get there... you say temple runs take you 15 mins and it gets you 1 bubble so you are going to do that run 100 times at a total of 25 hours game-play, for one level. If you want to call that "immersion" or "fun" then fine. Also most casuals play 2-3 hours a day max, so you have yourself 8 days game-play of the same stuff, then even more for the next level.

This game is so linear and ridiculous it hurts, so I think all the "crybaby's" and "trolls" do have some credibility here. Or maybe im just a troll. Whatever.

Peace

incredibly boring

Starting to feel the same, logging in. logging out 10 minutes later.. I think this genre of game at least for me is coming to a close.. At least until i get sucked in the next time :P

Your Quitting because of one small reason? you have a block spam button, use it. takes a second to right click on a name and press enter. I havnt seen many farm bots yet i dont think, might change though...

Tell it to the developers. These days, you really cant have a life and play an mmorpg (unless your the small percentage that actually cares about rinsing and repeating). Just scroll out and look at yourself when your playing, you'll see how pointless and ridiculous what your doing is.

Maybe those 6 hours spent today running around a fictional realm actually meant something in the grand scheme of your life. Maybe those 300 mobs you owned today, actually care that you spilt their guts on the floor. Nah probably not, they'll be back.

Developers want the end-game to look flashy because they want those 1000+ hours of some poor old sod, because they love you? More like your money.

In conclusion, bots are a god-send and realistic. Because I don't have to waste my time reaching cap and i reach it quickly. And don't give me that crap about "immersion" and "enjoying the journey" your just another upset addict, I'd rather watch American Idol.

Peace.

I agree, I've found i need to smoke a bowl before aion pve is fun..

not that that's a bad thing..

Earthrise will be an over-the-shoulder third person shooter with RPG elements such as skills and upgradeable equipment. Earthrise will not have any hitboxes, so shooting a player in the head won't do any more damage than shooting them in the foot. There will be a dice-roll effect with each shot, and the targeting will be sticky in Earthrise. The devs decided to do this to eliminate the need for twitch based combat skills and focus more on a strategic feel to the game.

This SCREAMS incompetence of the devs part. Game breaker design decision.

Yet it is the best way to go due to the fact that many players are not skilled enough to play a twitch based game. People will get fed up and start to leave the game slowly due to the fact the game is frustrating them. It is really hard to make a successful mmorpgfps that is balanced and will attract a lot more people than the select few who are really good at FPS games.

That is the main reason why the devs decided to not make hitboxes and not make this game a true fps. So there is a balance amongst players... So that it is not the skill of the player able to get hitboxes (Headshots) but the skill of the player to use his skills, tactics and abbilities to their fullest.

I'm a bit dissapointed about them not making hitboxes, It would be really nice to have a mmorpg that had true FPS combat. Many people play FPS games so its not a "select few" that would be attracted to a game that implemented the style. I find a lot of people crying for games that are not "simple" and that they want a learning curve, well practicing your fps combat would be a great example!

And lets be honest here, most mmorpg players find themselves looking up forums etc. for the best possible build to use for the type of character they want, even in a skill based game. there will still be the subs of healer, tank, dps etc. which is why i find mmorpg's lose the whole concept of "skill" and think that true fps combat would be great to have in an rpg.

I know for assasins this is the case, not sure about other classes. Crit/Damage rate increases or summit :)

Aion and botting

I've read on one of the Korean sites that there is quite a large population of bots already in their version.

Not to mention NCSoft have stated they will most likely be using GameGaurd as their "anti hacking" system, anyone who has played a game with GG will know that its absolutely riddled with bots.

People have already started to make and change korean made bots for the western version, I hope this dosn't break the game. P.S im not trying to burn the game, just saying :)

Only thing I have a problem is consumables, I think thats utterly ridiculous to have in a pvp situation. The group racing around full of buffed up pieces of paper has an unfair advantage, sure I can go get the same pieces of paper but it starts to make u feel like you need it (if everyone else is doing it). You dont wanna have to even think about that when u wanna jump on for 30 mins to kill some of the other faction.

But I guess, MMO's are always gunna reward the people that play more. Whatever gets u more/longer subs i spose :(

Like the other guy said, ATI 4870. Totally worth it, even tho i dont have one my mate does and at lans i only just out-perform his (Nvidia 260 GTX).

On Aion, I'd say wait until you can try it out for free somehow (buddy key or trial of which i hope they have) then its no biggy if u dont like it.

Damn...Look at the tits on those females in blade and soul, getting into the city must be an implant prerequisite. game looks pretty cool in "preview" mode, if you can actually play like that, it would be saweet :D.
