if i were you, i would stop that download. I do not think it is worth it...all people looking the same, only a few classes, bad fighting system. I personally dont think its worth it. |

It depends what u think iis worth it. I played the game and thought it was pretty good, and i thought the race wars were pretty cool. I like how the whole thing revolves around the community. If you like pvp, then this is definately worth downloading. |

Although some people were not a fan of pking, getting rid of the wilderness affected everything, even skillers. Example- Now that tele-block is gone (replaced with bounty finder...pathetic) there is a less demand for people to high alch to get higher mage. With less of a demand for yew long bows (overpriced at 700ea), what will flkecthers do? What will the people thhat sell bowstrings do? Not only does this mess up the fletching, but even more the runescarting. Without a need to get mage up, who will need natures or a large supply of law runes. Not only does this create a problem of selling the runes, but also the running of nature runes and law runes. Without being able to give something more of a 3k difference, then this wil slow the leveling of rcers. When pking is gone, it effects more then just the pkers. Sure there is bounty hunter, but that should not even be called pking. It should be called clanning, because there is no player kiling, it is just clans kiling lower lvled people and unsuspecting people by themselves. All that the clan do is wait by the door, and once you walk in, your pretty much dead. Pking took some skill, but when ur in a huge clan (like in bounty hunter) it takes no skill at all. Without pking, the econemy is messed up. |

whata surprise...Once jagex screws up runescape, instead of fixing it they make a new game. GO JAGEX? ~mike480~ |

I believe that people played this game because it was very different But now that there is no pking, there is no ability of free trade, the game is not nearly as good as it used to be. Runescape was easily my favorite game i have played, and i would always make pures and go pking. But since there is terrible custamor support, and Jagex cut the population in half with there terrible updates, the game is not what it used to be. This game would be better if Jagex werent the one making the updates. |

I think that summoning was made just to keep people around for a little while, to get there minds off all the updates that they recently made. Now I dont think this will go very well, since summoning is mems only, and raises combat lvl. So for bounty hunter (which is terible) your stats will be lower than any1 elses lvl if they do not train summoning. Example- Pretend im lvl 70. umm... 60 atk 60str. Then there is another lvl 70, who has 50 summoning. Now they will have a lower str lvl, since summoning gained them several lvls. Summoning will make the combat system more screwed up then it is already.

Actually 5-6million ppl play ------------------------------------------------------ Seriously? Now mabye there are 5-6million ACCOUNTS. But i highly doubt that there are 5million players, let alone subscribers. Everytime i go to the runescape homepage is never says more the 300,000 people are playing. If you dont believe me, then go check it out now. Tell me if u see 5million people. |

Those polls were in august, when the game was much funner than it is now The game was ruined when pking was taken away, and then there was the G.E, and many ppl quit due to these updates. The main people that play now are new players, who dont know how much beter the game was before the update, and losers who were scared of the wild who can now roam freely. An MMO should be controlled by the community, not in Jagex. And how seriously Jagex took the RWTer's is rediculous. All MMO's have them, and people still have fun on them. These updates have taken the game down, and it will take a long time to repair them.
P.S. TWO MILLION PEOPLE PLAY?! are u kidding me. Right now there are (at best) 60-90k mems. Many ppl quit. |

Although runescape is not entirely ruined, it is going down. Fast. The G.E was just one of the unwise updates that Jagex had made. Making the game in their hands, not in the communities. This is what pretty much crashed the econemy. Put it this way- Pkers are what a nice amount of the population. Now that pking is gone, people are finding less of a profit when they make their items. Like yew longs (which are way overpriced at 700ea). Now that there is no pking, there is not as much of a need for ppl to high alch. When there is no high alch, who willl buy the nature runes. With not as many nats, who will but the pure ess (overpriced i believe) . Taking away pking was one of the many mistakes Jagex made over the past month. Sure there is bount hunter, but lets face it. That is not even pking anymore, it may as well be clanning. since there is no "player" killing, just clans killing the people. All the clans do is camp the entrance waiting for unsuspecting victims to eneter. Sure, there is the dual arena for 1v1, but 3k a bet?! This has totally outraged pures, and have left many of them to quit. Unless Jagex returns it to its normal status, i believe the runescape future will not last for long

Why the Grand Exchange ruined the economy/community in RS?
General Discussion « Runescape 1/11/08 9:14:03 PM
After they came out with the grand exchange at first (when u did not need to use it) no1 really thought of it. But when they made it manditory, thats when things started to get out of control. Not only did it take away the communities chances to make prices, but the prices were way off. An example of this is the yew long bow. Usually you could sell this for around 600ea, now the G.E (which prices are controlled by jagex) now sells ithem for 700ea. I personally believe that Jagex does not listen to their comunity enough. I do not think it is a terrible idea, but more control should be in the community, not the creators of the game. Also the 5% trade cap is a little low. They should make it around 10-15%. But i this they should just get rid of it, and worry more about gameplay then RWTer's (which is whyh they made all these updates). So in a nutshell, communities should control the prices, not the creators.
