World of Warcraft: Wood: Pets and the Boy Who Cried Wolf
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/06/09 7:41:52 PM
I suddenly had no desire to read anything else Jon Wood writes after that article. There was something very pompous about it. |

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning: 1.3.2 Live! New Producer's Letter
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/16/09 7:54:02 AM
I still think this game is missing that 3rd faction, RVR just isn't the same, sadly. :(
Although reading through the patch notes, I don't play the game anymore, there are some good changes.
# Various UI fixes, such as making sure timers synchronize properly on PQs. # Graphical enhancements (Bloom, improved weapon trails, heat shimmer, etc…). # Pet and monster pathing improvements.
See how 1.3.3 goes to tempt me back ! |

I'm a good player at FPS games, I'm too casual to be pro, but when I was playing WWIIOL a couple years ago, I found this game had a deep learning curve. It took about 2 weeks of play to become good, but once I got familar with alot of the towns and using my environment as cover, I started to rake in more kills than deaths. You think you're surrounded by pros, but chances are, you're fighting alot of players who have been playing for weeks aswell. But in my experience, dying alot made me a better player in WWIIOL, this made the game a whole lot more exciting, I'd spend ages approachng a town or base, I'd crawl along the ground hearing bullets whizz past me, scared of being hit, as a stray bullet to my leg or lower body would hinder my progress. |

PlanetSide: PlanetSide Sequel in Development
News Discussion « General Discussion 9/28/09 2:35:10 PM
I literally jumped out of the seat with THIS news!
Planetside 2 would be absolutely fantastic, I sure hope the same people who made Planetside will be on board!
CAN'T WAIT !!! |

Champions Online is the new WW2 Online
General Discussion « Champions Online 9/20/09 12:54:43 PM
And yet WWIIOL is still around, pumping out patches and new content and a new graphics engine. Triple A titles such as Tabula Rasa and Auto Assault were flops.... :p |

Your problems can be solved by simply disabling comic book style outlining and disabling depth of field blurring effects. I find CO to be one of the nicest looking MMO's released to date, but like WoW, you either like the art style or don't. |

Dungeon Runners: Shutting Down on New Year's Eve
News Discussion « General Discussion 9/17/09 2:29:39 PM
This game should be re-released as a free online multiplayer game, it's a good fun RPG, shame to see it go, it didn't work as a MMO, but as a traditional online RPG with modding ability, it'd do well? |

So much viral "antimarketing" on CO, great game, tons of potential; initial review

I said fullstop, mmorpg sees alot of people venting their frustration. I said there are people who bash a game they've never played, didn't say they're frustrated with a game they've never played. |

The trouble with mmorpg.com is that it's full of MMO haters and people that don't even play or own the game they are bashing. This place is all about venting your frustrations, and nothing more. |

Why this game needs sweeping nerfs, Cryptics poor timing...
General Discussion « Champions Online 9/03/09 6:37:31 PM
It just feels that they've lowered the powers, and will probably tweak them as they get player feedback and testing. |

Champions Online: New Content Every Three Months
News Discussion « General Discussion 9/03/09 3:40:34 PM
I'm very glad this game will recieve updates every 3 months. Loving CO right now, one of the best MMORPG's I've played so far, alongside EVE Online, EQ2, COH, and Dark Age of Camelot. |
|
|
I always felt that Cryptic did good with their CoH. The things you've listed will no doubt be corrected and fixed.
Also, I feel the shard/instancing will help the game in the long run, no more re-rolling on populated servers or repurchasing a CO account to play on USA/EU servers should the community die out. |
