i really wish that ANET will release more info abt GW2 soon. all im looking forward to is the GW2 beta coming 2nd half of 2008, which can be as late as december, so im not holding my breath

my only worry abt GW2 is its launch. looking at the much-hyped AoC and itz dismal and very buggy launch, i got to thinking that GW2 better not be like that. i know GW1 was one of the best MMO launches, i hope it'll be the same for GW2, smooth and bug-free (well at least not game breaking)

progression by level is an illusion in the game. the games, especially Factions and Nightfall, wants you to reach the lvl 20 cap as soon as possible so that you can duke it out with higher level foes

the real progression is collecting the skills (normal and elites) required, gaining all 200 attrib points to toss around your attributes,  and gaining access to other secondary professions to make *character builds* that will be viable for you to vanquish foes, conquer missions and own PVP.

here in Manila, Prophecies costs p500 on an ongoing promo by its main distributor. thats roughly $11

i myself am using a gaming mouse at 2000dpi, but can be maxed at 2500dpi

it helps alot  when you have a widescreen display if you have high dpi

i like my gaming mouse cuz it has 2 programmable buttons i set to automatically pick up (use) nearby items and another one to target nearest enemy+attack target+call target all in 1 clicking

now dont let me get started with my gaming keyboard ...

but its not necessary to get a gaming mouse to play decently, juz for convinience

i havent found anything bad in the game that'll make me even think of leaving it. people mainly complain abt skill nerfs but i have learned to adapt. nice to hear a lot of positive responses in this thread.

hi! I'm JoSef, IGN Illyana Darkchilde and I've been playing GW since aug 2005. been playing evr since, got all 3 campaigns and expansion, got 3 accounts, may get anotehr one for storage purposes.

I post here mainly to show off screenshots of Guild Wars i hopes to lure more people into it. IMO its not yet too late to start GW cuz GW2 is a long ways off and there still a lot playing the game.

Be there especially during Holiday events and festivities cuz it'll get so rowdy and fun. I still play GW everyday, focusing on PVE but soemtimes dabs into PvP.

My suggestion is that you get to an active guild and alliance

Sorrow's Furnace is categorically a dungeon, the first in GW. The story for SF is independent of the main storyline, therefore, there is no Mission Outpost in SF, just a regular Outpost ( Deldrimor War Camp ). However, there are plenty of repeatable quests.

SF is optional, but it does play host to the 1st set of green items in the game and some elite skill captures too.

absolutely hilarious! i was expecting a repeat of last year's april fools joke, i was totally surprised when i went out to an explorable area and my ranger became a stickman

this is the order of the storyline > Guildwars (now prophecies), Factions, Nightfall, EOTN. so if you're into the narrative, PvE part, then go that way.

you dont have to install all the cds, just use the latest dvd, EOTN, its got most of the contents there.

the .dat file will take up 3gigs, so you'll need around 4gigs

you got all the campaigns and the expansion

Nightfall IMHO is the best noob zone. you get heroes, very helpful nowadays if you're having a hard time to find groups, and you level up really fast. Lvling up in Factions is faster but ytou dont get heroes on the onset, Prophecies has the slowest pace in leveling up. But prophecies also have skill quests where you get skills as quests rewards. your choice.

its still a good time to start guild wars one, gw2 Beta wont start until the later half of the year

ANET promised that they wont shut down the servers even after GW2 is released as long as people still come in and play it. im sure i'll visit GW1 every now and then, esp during holiday events!

my tip is to buy one main game, ie prophecies, factions or nightfall (i prefer NF), and buy EOTN also for the Hall of Monuments

yup you can still GvG even if you only have Prophecies and NF installed

Prop & NF has plenty of great skills to make a decent PvP build
