This is to the poster who said you go into a dungeon and pull a monster and they kill you with 10 spells cast or whatever. The point of most dungeons is to build a party to go in, otherwise you will die, die, die. I know, I've tried. If you're careful sometimes you can survive, but you have to be careful. I guess the social aspect of the game is too much for some players. I often play solo but know when to team and joined a guild for the camaraderie and support. As far as quests, there are quests above 25, but there are dry spots at certain levels where quests are very limited and so you mostly grind. I actually am at such a spot now. I'm a level 40 character. Thanks goodness I am ~90% towards level 41. By the way, I believe the requiem wiki has a table of the quests at each level or it may be in the forums, I am not sure. All the same, just looking at the list tells you where the most grind levels are and they are distributed around above 25. I do believe a fair criticism is the lack of much content near the level cap. It reduces players to enlist for events once or twice a week, once you get up there in levels.
I hope this helps. |

Could you play this on a Asus eee pc?
General Discussion « Requiem: Bloodymare 8/28/08 2:07:11 PM
I recently purchased an Acer Laptop with Nvidia graphics chipset. The processor is plenty fast at 2.7 GHz with an AMD Athlon dual processor cpu. It passed the neverwinter night test but will not run on my laptop. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium, but I run that on my tower system and I can play the game there. I submitted trouble tickets and submitted the dxdiag, etc but no solution. I tried everything I could find on the forums but no luck. I specifically went for the NVidia chipset as it supports pixel shader 3.0 and texture trader 3.0 but to no avail. The laptop should run the game but it doesn't. I still play, just on my tower system at home. So be careful and get the best graphics chipset or mobile graphics card you can. I did and it hasn't panned out yet. I wonder if I installed Microsoft XP rather than Vista or dual booted it? I was limited in funds, I broke my old laptop, cracked the screen, so couldn't spend too much, ~$650. Best of luck. |

I prefer Kruxena and play as a soul hunter. They are different from standard humans, which I like, they have a modified claw hand and do magic. They are a bit weak on defense but that's the breaks. I vote for Kruxena! |

This is a reply regarding the nightmare creatures. They appear at certain areas of the map, not everywhere and anyone at any level can try their hand at it. If you are too low a level, you will probably die often. Actually, I believe some creatures disappeare during the night. But that seems rarer. I believe the Requiem wiki site has a map showing the locations for Crescent island. I don't have the link handy, otherwise I would include it here. Also, for information, there is a store where one can buy weapons and armor in Rondell Village. In other words, if you haven't been able to get a piece of equipment, via poor luck you may be able to pick it up there for a cost. I forget where but one just needs to look. It's not too large a village.
All in all, I like the game and I've noticed some changes from when I first started, so I believe the developers are listening to the comments posted on these forums. By the way, there is an official site with an official forum too. My only recent problem was I was not able to get enough participants to enter Fridha mine last evening |

My character is currently a level 12 character. I have another character who is stuck at level 9 with 100% as I cannot seem to get the templars to offer a job to enable the upgrade to level 10. I did not follow the standard path of quests but did do all the quests necessary to upgrade including the finale. Perhaps I've missed something during that character's development that precludes the upgrade but I've looked and looked and gave up hence the second character who is now at level 12. I am happy with the game. The end game animation of the creature deaths could be improved but there is variation so that's not too bad. It would be nice if there were a more general teleportation system to minimize extensive walking. I know this is part of the realism aspect of being in an immersive world but it would help take the boredom out of the gameplay. Perhaps an unrestrictive teleportation once every hour. I know the teleportation to a registered location is enabled and I use it when I can but it doesn't help for random quests. I know the plane ride serves part of that function too so I could utilize that as well. Just a thought. It would also be nice if one could call up a detailed map for the whole island at anytime. Currently the minimap in the lower right is quite limited. I would also like to have the quests indicate both the location to report and not just the individual. A description of where they are located would be nice. I tend to have multiple quests at any one time to minimize travel. I once spent some time trying to figure out where the agent was that I needed to report to. In general I am happy with the game play and feel that the additional skills as you level up are balanced. I am a bit concerned that the max levels will be boring after a point but I have a ways to go before getting there. I hope the developer continues to add upper level tweaks to keep the game interesting for those characters. I am a newbie to MMORPGs but hope that my opinion helps. I enjoy playing to date and haven't run into any other issues other than the problem with my first character which may be a problem with me. But I successfully transitioned to level 10 with my second character so I am not certain it is me but may be a bug with the game. I am playing on a AMD Athlon dual core 3.2 GHz 64 bit machine with Windows Vista Home Premium installed and 3.25 G Ram showing as available. I am connected to the internet via Verizon FIOS with an upgraded speed for download. |
