there is none. I wouldnt be surprised to hear their next mmo is caned and they file for bankruptncy in the next 6 months. Even if they hold onto this pipe dream of making secret world or whatever the hell their next fiasco is I doubt a publisher will take it at this point. AO and AoC they have a pretty bad track record for mmos.

As a sound investor you must know that even a company with strong fundamentals will have low stock prices if there is no investor confidence. And Funcom has destroyed investor confidence and their us revenue stream. Right now the US is one of the largest markets for mmos out there with China and Korea being a huge market as well. The game wont appeal to asian players so they can expect a very niche market in asia. As for Russia and Poland I doubt russian and polish players are any dumber then us ones are.

Even with low debt and good standing cash they have severely hurt their revenue stream for the next year at least and they arent going to win back investor confidence easily in todays economic climate. They may not go belly up but their stock price isnt rising any time soon. I doubt the CEO would have sold off 100k shares if he thought it was.

Do you seriously believe this. That is the single stupidest business plan Ive ever heard of. Stock price is tied to investor confidence. The way to build investor confidence is not by destroying it. sound fundamentals, a proven earnings history, a viable future income source and a sound p/e ratio are what build investor confidence low debt and high standing captiol help too which funcom has for now but at this rate that may not last. Destroying your income source for the next year and pinning all your hopes on releasing your already failed product in a new and as of yet unproven market (the mmos on consoles) is a way to drive DOWN investor confidence not build it back up. Thats assuming microsoft even cares about aoc anymore. If I were on the board of Funcom Id fire the current dev team. Can their upcoming mmo, consolidate servers hire a new dev team to fix this mess and hope that by diverting what funds they have left and the funds allocated to their next mmo I could fix this mess with aoc and entice players back.

I was in at launch and the obvious unfinished nature of the game drove me off of it. I thought the game had potential to be great tho and I figured id come back in a few months to see if it has improved. From what I am reading here tho and at the official forums it sounds like its gotten worse... I am glad I sold my funcom stock in june. Is it really worse now then it was? Is there any improvement? SHould I wait longer or should I just forget this game and look for greener pastures

I dont think its about racisim. They chose 3 nations to put into the game the main 3 nations most readily recoginized and the most promiment in the world of Hyboria. Aquilonia a pseudo European/roman culture. Cimmeria a northern mountain barbarian culture, and Stygia a pseudo Egyptian culture (stygians arent black they are more like egyptians). None of the 3 cultuers are predominatly black cultures, however I would not be surprised if they added Kushite and Kush as a playable nation in an expansion as theres alot that does take place in Kush.

As an fyi guys The devs have said anything that can run oblivion well will run AoC well.

And yea Asus motherboards suck. Great features on paper but they have tons of doa issues and many of them are buggy even when they do boot. Id steer clear of them. I use gigabyte or evga

Seriously to tell you people the truth. I really think this game will be #1 based on the fact that when it comes out. It will already have that advantage in MMO features that catch many players eyes. Then if you forgot all the expansions that are going to be coming out soon. I dont think its gonna be number 1. Not because it doesnt look intriguing. But wander on over to Age of Conan or Warhammers official websites and tell me what you see? LOTS Of information about the game. Look at the last few conventions and look at the games getting all the buzz. Warhammer and Age of Conan.

Now this isnt a comment on how good I think Aion will be. My point here is that Ive been following Age of Conan for over a year now, And have passivly followed Warhammer for around as long. And I just found out Aion was coming a few days ago. When I went to search for info on the game I got barely anything. Theres no buzz or info about this game. Its hard for me and man others to get excited over a game with little info just some screenshots and vaugue class descirptions and pvpve. Even what you do hear is often contradictory is it a grindfest? is it not a grindfest?

Meanwhile Age of Conan and Warhammer are building massive fanbases salivating at the chance to get their respective games (Personally Age of Conan for me) By the time This one hits the western world Age of Conan will be out and Warhammer will be just around the corner if not already out ,and this game will have a hard time trying to take players from WoW, Age of Conan or convince Warhammer fans they want to play this game instead of Warhammer (if war isnt out)

I was curious about this game sadly I probably wont play it. Because I am already fairly invested with Aoc now. I have a guild built around Age of Conan and when it hits in march I wont be abandoning that game (unless it sucks then I may look at Aion) This is the same story for alot of other players.

I think its gonna go down like this, If theres going to be any one "WoW killer" its probably going to be Warhammer. Age of Conan and Aion both I think will be more Niche titles.

But I hope the game does do well. I dont ever want to see a time like recently were theres only 1 huge  mmo.
