They appeal to a different type of gamer than what you are obviously use to. This is not another overhyped shit with big IP.

I can respect that. But if they want me to fork over $50, I'd like to know a bit about the game.

It's a fake because the current dev team would never put that much effort into an expansion/update.

The worst thing to me is that the game seems too much like excel spreadsheets in space. The complexity is nice but there's a real repetitive dullness to the way you accomplish things in Eve and it just ends up feeling like a second job.

SWG from launch to NGE. It was fun while it lasted. For now I'm giving up on the MMO genre and sticking with console games.

I wish I knew what people find so appealing about WAR. I tried it and kept getting the feeling that I'd be better off playing LOTRO or WoW. And I don't even like those kind of MMOs.

400k subscribers and the game JUST launched? Who cares.. AoC had that many and look how that turned out.

Warhammer might do well for a while but it shouldn't take long for EA to screw it up.

From what I saw LOTRO & WoW had the same players in them. The games are also identical on concept so that's not really a surprise. If you want to see a fairly mature community try Eve Online. The help/rookie chat channels are actually full of helpful people rather than lamers who try to start drama like in WoW/LOTRO. Join the militia or a large alliance after that and you'll be amung the most mature and group-oriented people of any online game.

I found it much better than the Warhammer cinematics. The narration alone was fantastic. I found the warhammer online cinematics to be too cheesy :/

Who cares. Let people play whatever they want. These same arguments have already happened prior to AoC's release and look how well that turned out.

Enjoying Eve Online and looking forward to it's ambulation expansion. And Star Trek Online after that. I'm not really interested in fantasy MMOs anymore.

It just means that they may delete your character. For the longest time they did not do this but my guess is they've had so many trials and normal accounts that have quit and not returned that the information started to takeup too much room on their servers.

I think we owe it to the other MMO gamers out there who are lucky enough to have not wasted money on this game. They deserve to know the truth about how Funcom is in the business of decieving people and expecting them to stay loyal subscribers.

Simple solution is to play a true PvP mmo like Eve-Online.

necroooooooooo

Blizzard will still claim WoW has 10 million players. It's what they do.

They still haven't implimented blood money? sheesh

I liked the emphasis on exploration and being able to be the first person to find a uniqie planet. I hope exploring will be as dynamic as picking a direction and going into warp speed rather than the typical chop star systems into zones thing you see in other games.

The presentation was good but it could be very easy for them to make STO a simplistic cookie-cutter MMO. STO needs to lean more towards being like Eve Online in it's complexity; especially since the core Star Trek fans are going to want space represented in a realistically complex way.

*Have you guys seen the waterfalls in Thunder River? Seriously, it's pretty. We spent 93% of our budget on our art team, go look at the damn thing.

LOL!!
