SWTOR doesn't need the latest graphics but what graphics it has still has to be generally appealing. I had to turn down the graphics settings during the beta and the low texture render is the worst I have ever seen ever in an MMO. They were nothing more then blobs of colors swirled together. Not to mention that when I did turn the texture settings up cause of how bad they were, they took forever to load. SWTOR is litterally the cheapest made AAA MMO I have seen. Yeah, it cost a lot to make cause of the voice actors. Well, too bad that I wanted to play a game, not watch a movie.

This looks better then SWTOR and its 5 years old.

I never had an issue with this game. The only problem I saw people had with the game was the IP block for the US version while EU didn't have the game but that is no longer an issue.

It's not true the EME did it for a teen rating. TERA is still considered a Mature rated game and all the other races skimpy outfits (some which are far worse) remain untouched.

Thought I read the community manager on the TERA forums say they were.  If not, my mistake.

It might be true that is what they are claiming they are doing it for now since I stopped keeping up with the game for around a month now. Though sources has given 3 different reasons for the change and EME has been flip flopping the reason for this issue cause EME's communication with the fanbase is pretty bad when issues come up.

I admit i dont have much information on Tera, but the article implies you can get the crytals from drops, you dont have to buy them if spending virtual money on your character is anathema to you.

They are drops, but do you seriously believe that you are going to get every single good crystal for your class by a drop? No, you are going to go to the AH and buy them especially after they are broken in a dungeon wipe.

 

 

 

Ofc you will, just like practically any other facet of most mmorpgs. In wow you have to spend some money for respeccing and a lot of it for getting all glyphs. In rift respecs and roles cost money, as well as learning new ranks for your abilities...

If you dont want to spend a single, tiny , winny gold coin or copper sovereign or adamantium doublon or whatever youll get pathetic crystals and  pathetic gear, just like in any other mmorpg till now.  The good side to it is that gold coins dont really exist outside the game and you can put them to some use it by buying things in game with them.. unless your goal while gaming is watching your numbers grow. If that is the case, you could name your character Gordongekko, Donaldtrump or something of the type, clothe him in rags and send him to kill rats or whtever. If there is really good customization in game, perhaps you could have him push a supermarket trolley filled with garbage...that would make for real immersion.

If your post made any sense then I might be able to give an actual reply but since it isn't I cant. Though I find it interesting that you compare TERA to games that have specs. TERA doesn't have specs, so no respecing or reason to change your glyphs unless you get a better one. Also, your talent points and glyphs in other MMOs dont disappear when you die. A better comparison would be armor repair which I think is also stupid.

They don't have sieges yet but they will add them after they add Server VS Server politics/invasions & territorial control for areas that are SHARED for all the servers. KR Tera is basically an incomplete game, and En Masse knows it, why do you think we aren't playing Tera right now?

So you felt the need to post about the pointless things being added to the game that will give no depth to most of the people who play? Well, let's go on the fact that the political system has been abused to the point of making it a joke in KTera where only having one territory is worth having and everyone else has just wasted money. Server vs Server and Invasions have not even been talked about to any extend and we have no idea what they even are. For all we know they are nothing more then a large instance that is cross server.

So yeah, nice job bringing up an exploitable feature and a feature with no detail whatsoever that has no release date at all. Also, I am well aware of KTERA not being finished but they are taking a over whole year to even make it playable for us. So, guess how long it will take to get basic content? Enjoy paying 15 a month for a game and waiting a year to get a few dungeons.

Also, many American's like PB&J.  So, lets assume 25% of America likes PB&J.  That means 75,000,000 in the US like it.  By those numbers there should be 182,000,000 in europe that like it and 334,000,000 in China.  But hey, guess what? PB&J is really only popular in the USA and maybe parts of Europe.  But by your logic we should all those people liking it.

 

Just because something is popular in one country doesnt mean the same thing will apply to a different country, much less a different culture.

Last I checked the only thing people were having issues with were the "over-sexualized" little girl race. No other part of the game is being "censored" (people bitch about the armor of both men and women in that game but no more than any other game with revealing armor). Claiming that the sole reason for your argument of debranding is over-sensationalizing the issue and if anything detracts from all the other parts of the game, all of which are very "anime", that people are perfectly fine with if not flat out love.

That's like saying the whole purpose of TERA is the loli race and without their naked ass in the camera, the game is worthless. It's a ridiculous notion.

 I gave examples of Poporis and Elin in other games that didnt get the hypersensational negativity this game got.

If Tera is sold as the western introduction to Anime gaming, they will get subs. They will pull them from every game in the MMO market. The Elim were removed from the western game. Pick up the fanpage pack, nothing is in there for Elim. I don't care, they can be intergrtated back in with a future exapnsion as a dryad type race. I just want it to be seen that this game is not "pedo", if it is, so are alot of the adverts on this site, so are alot of elements of other games we accept. Neither is the case and neither is Tera.  I don't agree. It's hard to say how well it will do but this game is a classic example of what we call 'anime gaming' and while it had roots in eastern cultures I don't think it won't be popular in western markets but through defamation, the anime gaming is being ripped out of it.

Look at any of the dozen wall adverts on this site. They all use anime style adverts to sell western games and yet when someone like EME tries to put an Anime game in the western markets it gets hauled through the mud. These Anime wall murals work for a reason, if they didn't Advertisement wouldn't use them.

What an interesting way to think. So you think that anime adverts for F2Ps will work in the same way for a Korean P2P which has all sorts of issues beyond that it being Korean and has nothing to do with the fact of advertisement as more like it's general lack of content and vision beyond that of a newer style combat system that allows for one shotting in PVP?

Don't see how they fit whatsoever. Advertisements, especially ones being paid to have like here on MMORPG.com, don't make a game. Gameplay is what makes a game and TERA is just your same old generic Korean MMO with a slightly updated combat system. Once people know this for fact it wont matter how many adverts the game has cause it aint worth box price + sub fee.

It's taking Korea 6+ more months just to get enough content for it to be released in the west. How long will it take to get more content after that? It takes less then 2 weeks to max level in TERA.

Gotta love posts that are nothing more then people assuming something about a game they haven't even played for a decent amount of time or if at all. GW2 is an MMO and will be like an MMO. You will compare it to every MMO you've played in which you will find the good and the bad but only after you have played it. Any post now and till release is nothing more the speculation or hearsay.

Almost every game that has gone freemium has seen much sucess in comparison to remaining P2P. So, that part is obviously wrong.
