Purchasing the 12 month package, is it worth it?
General Discussion « Age of Conan 3/03/10 3:20:32 PM
My fault was in saying it was per Famine. No it was per Senak. http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=213854 I was right in that I said it was Funcom saying it was over, but I was wrong because Funcom said it was over and you said it is not. |

Purchasing the 12 month package, is it worth it?

There are no items as per Famine at the AoC forums. That deal for the helm and beta access is over. However, you can get good deals with the pricing when you purchase more than one month. |

I haven't PvP'd seen launch and to be honest I am not good at it. If I did it more I am sure I would get good at it. Our guild has PvP night on monday but it is a joke. We go out and join a few mini maps and have fun and I enjoy that. I am probably one of the strongest supporters for AoC on these forums but I admit that in the PvP department, AoC is far behind. Funcom promises new PvP stuff and yet it gets pushed back. I don't work there so I don't know all the details. All I know is that they do need to focus on PvP more than they have. I want to get into PvP more and that is one reason why I am leveling a conq at the moment. I enjoy the game and believe that the PvE content is one of the best I have played but I hope for more for PvP. |

Glad to see another return! |

Not sure if you found a guild or not, but I am a member of Ravens of Memory and I tell you that in all my MMO playing over the past 8 years, Ravens of Memory are the best guild for newcomers I have ever been in. And (never start a sentence with and) Ravens of Memory have a very active Raiding schedule if that is your thing. Monday nights are quickly turning into PvP nights for those who like PvP. Ravens of Memory are not the only good guild on Wiccana but I am biased and only advertise for the guild I am in :P |

I can't speak for massive PvP as I haven't ventured into that area. As for the raiding, some of the boss fights are well thought out and fun. All bosses have a certain strategy that is needed to learn before it can be defeated. No tank and spank here. |

Funcom screwed up massively with the launch of the game. After two months I left and played other games. I returned last year and have been having a blast ever since. |

Graig Morrison himself said the game is not going to die off. They have faith the Age of Conan will be around for years to come. What other game is the financial report so scrutinized? |

Any bugs that arise from each new patch has been minimal and repaired within days. Funcom is on top of their game. Forget the launch and realize that Age of Conan is indeed the most improved game of the year. |

Letter from the Game Director - February 2010

There was good info in that letter. Not sure what the problem is. |

Sorry but I have to counter that post from the AoC Hater. On Wiccana I am running into other people all the time. There are plenty of players and people are PvPing/Raiding/Questing all the time. |

The levels you can accrue over time can be used or not. So what is the big deal? Those who want to explore and quest with each character can still choose to do so, and those who want to get a character to 80 faster now have a chance to do so. Looks like to me that Funcom is giving more options which is never a bad thing. |

Why did housing in MMOs degenerate after SWG ?

I did this as well. My first house got too cluttered so I bought the largest Naboo house available and redecorated. How bad was it? When I was out on a mission and saw a furniture vendor, I would look for something to add to my house and then save the waypoint to come back later. A few months ago, a friend and I reloaded SWG just for kicks. Before my 1 month adventure was over, I had reinstated my house (which was in my datapad and I had to pay a ton to be able to use it) and redecorated it. I spent the last week of my month just on my house. I miss having a house in an MMO. |

I am not sure if you use the Dx10 in AoC but I can tell you that I do. When I play, the grass and trees sway to the wind. That aside, your post is right on point. Very fair and accurate. |

That's funny, I remember AoC selling more copies than most other games when it came out. As for the "not enough players," again you are wrong. I understand how you can be wrong, instead of playing the game, you go out and insult those that do. You always have. |

Here is the email:
***Notice of Account Closure*** Account Name: XXXXXXXXXX Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy This account was closed because one or more characters were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for "real-world" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy. Even if this behavior is the result of a third party accessing the account instead of the registered user (for example, a friend, family member, or leveling service) then the account can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.
