Will you be able to keep your characters after open beta?

Normally, you don't..but..then again you normally don't pay a sub while in beta so I was just wondering..

Thanks in advance.

How did you get yours to finally work?

I was letting my download while I was at work and it did the same thing at 50% but I said screw it and went to sleep and now I'm at school so I haven't had time to mess with it.

This was and is still my favorite mmo even though I haven't played for probably four years lol..

I started in 2003 at 13 or 14 years old, first mmo and played for two years with some breaks in between and only made it to lvl 54 on my necromancer.

I agree, playing with a controller is so much better, I noticed the combat was faster paced than PC mmos, especially tanking..
I just loved exploring the huge area of norrath, finding new grinding spots, new dungeons, a small town of five people with a banker in the middle of a zone that was never used, etc etc..

I also loved trying to raid lady noxx before frontiers was released...that was always a good chaotic time..

But the thing I enjoyed the most, as everyone has stated, was the community, with the exception of a few notorious trainers, everyone was awesome and extremely nice..

I eventually settled on the Proudpine Outpost server when it was added and stayed on it with the same people for pretty much the whole two years. .unfortunately..I have lost contact with all of them over the years as I was new to the internet and quite nubbish.

I think about starting the game up again every now and then for the hell of it but the new monthly price and the thought of the chance ruining my sweet memories...plus..it was pretty hardcore grind and I just don't have the time any more.  If they ever released a new version on PS3, I'd buy a ps3 and play it lol

I was actually looking for a new mmo, saw EQOA on the list and just had to stop by and look at it..then I saw this post and I just had to reply..this might even be my first post on MMORPG...

Anyways, Happy Hunting!

It looks cool, but it's a sort of FPS, so people jump 24/7 and are going to circle strafe... Quite annoying? FPS sounds cool, but I don't know how they can make it work good, without getting jump/circle strafe/rush combat.

Actually, you supposedly you get a penalty in your attacks when you jump so I doubt to many people will bunny jump unless they like doing less damage...and I'm pretty sure that counts for moving too..so..move and do less damage while taking less damage..or stand still and do max damage while taking max damage?

Of course, a rogue type class will want to move around more than say a warrior..

So it might take a bit of balancing..as all mmo's

I'm pretty sure thats how its going to be, might be wrong so feel free to correct me..

I hope it doesn't turn out into a jump/strafe fest..

I'm a fan of both console and PC gaming but I usually lean toward PC gaming due to MMOs, RPGs and I've always enjoyed a FPS pc game over a FPS console game.  You just can't beat the fast paced mouse+keyboard combo when it comes to fragging..

Now to the main point of my post...I upgraded..HINT..upgraded..not bought..my rig last year and can play Crysis just fine on med-high graphics.  I can turn it up to high but it crashes every hour or so.  Med-High graphics already look better than Halo 3(not that I didn't enjoy halo 3)

Also, Team Fortress 2 is a lot better on PC as the controls for the 360 just didn't seem to work to well for it...well..imo anyways

As for AOC being on 360, it will come out quite a bit after PC does so I say most will play it on PC...and if the 360 controller works better for the game..then I'll just plug in a 360 controller to my PC if thats the case..which I doubt as they'd both probably have their advantages..

I remember when FFXI was coming out for both the PC and PS2..people were saying that PC gaming would die shortly after as the console "potential" would be soon realized..

Remember, people have been saying PC gaming is going to die for years and despite that, it’s been going strong.

One last note, I did LOVE..and I mean love Mass Effect.

Don't be a fan boy, enjoy all sides of gaming.
