First off there is nothing wrong with the way EQ2 runs, been playing since launch and never had any problems with it.  Why do you feel the need to bash SoE here instead making an actual point where people shouldn't compare AoC to Vanguard?  Get a life bro.

First off if you are on the trial you can't join a guild if I remember correctly, and no, pvp is not objective based, but if you play on the Nagafen server you will be amazed by the amount of pvp that goes on. 

So I got my beta code, now where do I go to download the client, can't find it on fileplanet, anyone know?

Ok, the level cap is 80, you hit 10.  The gameplay gets alot better into the 20's when you start to receive better spells/arts and have more options for armor and weapons.  Now that you've hit lvl 10 you can start using your acheivement skills also, hit the L key.  I recommend getting the speed upgrade for peerless predator in the Fury tree, first line second option down on the left.  You don't get peerless predator til level 20, but it really comes in handy being able to run at 55% rather than 20.  Furies get really strong at level 23 when you get the spell Strike of Thunder, you become a healer with a huge nuke that does like 1200 dmg when you get the master II option at level 24.  If you have any questions let me know, been playing eq2 since launch.

So just curious, what does all that run cost wise?  I'm thinking of building a pc, but not sure what I should get either.

I would suggest that all the swg vets that are unhappy with SOE get together and try working with a different company to make another star wars mmo, SOE will never go back to the way it was.  I've never had any problems with SOE and I've been playing since eq1 came out.  I hear that they are terrible to their customers and they don't listen to feedback, oh well, don't buy there games then.

The NDA may get lifted, but whether or not it does has absolutely no bairing on if the game is good or not.  I expect it to get lifted around May 5th to the 10th.  Open beta will have ran for almost a week and that will be enough time for all the people to read all the latest news just before launch about all the good/bad aspects of the game.  I for one could care less about the NDA or playing the beta, I preordered the game and I'll get my 3 day advance into the game.  If the game has what I'm looking for then its all good, but if it doesn't I'll still have a free month to play and I'm sure there is someone who would buy it from me at a discounted rate if the game isn't something I can see myself playing for a long time. 

You played it for a week a few months ago, and you think that is enough time to judge a game that was still 8-10 months from release?  I wish I had gotten a key.  I would have actually made an attempt to get into the game and give feedback that might help funcom.

Housing can be used for alot of things, say you earn trophies or items you'd like to display in your house.  In eq2 it can be used for selling items on the broker, or storing the altars for your particular deity.  I have crafting tables in my house so that i can craft without having to go to the instanced crafting area.

Its not just vanguard, all SoE websites/games are down, they were scheduled to be down for maintenance until atleast 7am PST.  Im hoping they open up soon tho.

In my opinion there probably isn't an acceptable MMO for a 10 year old.  The ratings on the games don't really matter, its the people in the games.  There are way too many wierd people, and pervs out there for me to suggest one. 

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about another expansion coming out.  I know that RoK just dropped in November, but it is SOE, and I'm curious if they are gonna try and put another expansion out around early summer to try and keep people from moving to AoC or War. 

You'd think it would be easy to keep the kids out.  The game costs money to buy/play, parents would have to give the kids the money to play.  The parents should be enforcing the adult rating of the game, that is why it is there.
