Undoubtably, EA Inc. will push to make Warhammer very similar to WoW - a game that appeals to the lowest common denominator. You can count on that. |

Couldn't you change your IP (dynamically it only takes a few seconds), or use a socks proxy and buy a Visa gift card, virtual card, or pay someone else to buy an account? If they also ban by system ID, couldn't you reinstall windows or use a different system? I don't see how anyone could ever really be perma-banned from an online game since there is no requirement to show a valid ID? Just curious. |

That they are mostly just interested in getting a return could also be a bad thing for their games. |

I agree. Follow the core of what the game is based on and ignore what everyone else is doing. Do what you do and do it the best. And conitune upgrading. Upgrade the game, don't change it. |

One great thing about RV is that they seem to have zero tolerence for cheaters. No matter how small their playerbase, they appear to ban any accounts connected with cheating. I can't stand games where cheaters are allowed to operate while the devs turn their heads the other way or ignore it as a non-issue. There's almost no point in playing a game where other players are cheating, and that's a lot of other mmos... Praise to RB for strictly handling cheating. |

UO is a zombie of a game. The original concept is long, long, long gone and the last bit of good to be found in it is falling off in rotten chunks of EA neglect. The game that started as an amazing virtual reality and lively community has withered away through multiple EA expansions and changes aimed at making the game generically enjoyable to the lowest common denominator of pimpled teenagers and their 3 month attention spans. |

What's the best trial available now? Anything better than the standard 10 day accounts? |

I'm afraid he's right. EA makes it's money by buying up and grinding out the competition. Once they buy a company, they milk it for everything it's worth and then dump it by the roadside. |

What good is a monthly payment fee? You can do that right now can't you? Pay the same every month...there you go. Because it's automated is not going to make much difference, it may actually result in some placing a limit on themselves, their automated payment, resulting in them spending less. The only thing that makes sense is trial accounts, because after playing the trial, if someone likes the game then they have a reason to pay and continue thier progress. If it's a trial sever, they have less reason to pay unless their character could be transfered over to the real server. But it also does not good for the game to have players spread out across two servers. |

An MMO could go forever as long as they kept the technology fresh and the marketing targeted. It's a service more than anything else. So, far no MMO developer has done this, most likely because they have not planned on it, and as a result they have always fallen behind. But make no mistake about it, an MMO is not like an unchanging movie, board game, or most other types of entertainment. Because an MMO is malleable, it can be kept current, updated and interesting - once again, trouble is nobody has realized this yet. MMOs are still mostly being sold as games rather than services.... |

Wow what a revelation! I didn't know 'owning' and 'managing' were synonyms. |
