Has the ability to respec your characters skill points been introduced in any of the patches yet? During the open beta a dev post on the forums mentioned that it would be available thru in-game currency ( and likely cryptic points.. ). |

I was wondering what everyones thoughts were on this sudden change: http://www.massively.com/2010/01/25/skill-cap-changes-hit-star-trek-onlines-open-beta/ Aparently they've been telling people, "Oh once you reach final rank you can keep gaining skill points, there's no cap so you can eventually attain all skills." While they have stated that you can respec your characters now limited skills at any time with in-game currency of some sort, some people are obviously concerned that the in-game cost might be absurd in order to 'offer' players a more expedient Cryptic cash shop solution. Comments? |

Your request for an 'even play field' does not exist in EVE. It never has, nor should it. A character's total skill point value is irrelevant compared to player skill and knowledge of the game. 2-3 mil SP's? A miner can easily have that and not a single point in weapon systems beyond Gunnery I. If you want to learn PVP there are corps out there who are willing to train new people, other corps make it their sole purpose. I offer this: http://www.eve-ivy.com/oog/ivy/index.php?file=about.html Aura teaches you how to engage in combat, against NPC's. That ends her responibility to you. The rest is for you to learn in whatever fashion you decide. |

The problems you are having are likely because of your PC, either the state of it's OS software or it's internal hardware. I am running the beta client without a hitch, while forcing x16 AF and x8 AA for improved image quality. I have not had a single crash or sign of instability. I'd do a little searching for what the minimum system requirements were for Warhammer, you may be below that. |

I've started played Ryzom for the first time only a few days ago and it has to be one of the best mmorpg's Ive run into. It's worlds apart from the cookie cutter games out in the market right now.
The only thing irks me slightly is a sudden appearance of trolls in Silan chat. I'm hoping these will die off soon when the game re-establishes a monthly payment system. |

Try not to think of it as, "How long do I have to train sp before x". Instead consider the, "What can I train to get me into the action." approach. You can train combat skills for a very long time, but you do not need to have max level skills ( i.e. level 5's ) to engage and win in a pvp engagement. Having skills at lvl 3 or 4 is perfectly normal in the beginning, these take less time and will let you get your feet wet. Continue to train skills to level 4 and then 5 when time permits. There are some key things to remember... One is that you will lose your ship and clone, repeatedly. Nobody is an overnight success at combat in EVE. Second thing to remember: There is no such thing as a 'fair' or 'balanced' fight, ever. Pvp engagements will have you facing anything from some unlucky soul in a shuttle ( no guns, just catch them Accept this and you will prevail, you must be patient and determined. As for help I offer this: http://www.battleclinic.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=3510.0;attach=3866 This is a link to a very helpful guide, I recommend it to anyone trying EVE. |

I have to agree, it seems that WoW is little more than a haven for obsessive compulsive personalities at endgame. Most guilds are heavily raider based or filled with children who are so inarticulate you can't understand them. The graphics are lipstick on a low polygon chicken. And lastly, we killed boars at level 1, we killed hellboars in Outland at level 60+, are we going to be killing 'iceboars' at level 70+? I'm willing to bet the unlucky souls that buy the expansion will. |

Hello, I just installed the High-Res content client without any errors, but when I use the launcher to start the game I get as far as, "Opening Main Form", and then nothing. I've looked over the launcher log and can't find anything suspicious. Has anyone had Vista related problems similar to this? I messed with the trial some time ago when I was an XP user, and I'd really like to give DDO another shot. Thanks for your time. |

Hi there, Ive never played the original JG and I was wondering what sort of flight model was used, and might be used for JGE. Was it like Wing Commander / Freespace modeled on fighter aircraft? Or involve realistic physics like Frontier: Elite II? Thanks. |

While the extent at which I've partaken in roleplay has varied over the years, I understand your concerns. Online communities in general, not just WoW, have been mentally backsliding. EVE for example, is a game of fairly decent complexity and requires you to have a functioning cortex. However even very deep games such as this have become plagued by people that believe "lol" or "pwn3d" is part of sentence structure. Why is this happening? Im not totally sure. It could be as simple as users / MMO players starting out younger these days... Or it may not have to do with age at all, but the gerneral immature behavior pattern which is becomming all too common when your anonymous on the internet. Im looking forward to JGE, and like the OP I hope the community doesnt turn into a flaming wreck. |
