It "works" in the extent that players will play it.

However, many (including me, and everyone in my guild) prefers that boss is just available.

Case in point, I am in a couple of guilds (including a progressive guild) before, and it is just not fun for me. So i don't social ... does that mean that I cannot? I don't think so.

And yes, EQ is just a big boring grind (worse, a big boring grind with camp drama), and the "social" makes it worse?

Only an idiot is blindly for innovation and change without asking "Will this change and innovation actually make this better for me?" first.

 

I think the it is more idiotic (not to mention illogical) to ask for innovation and change on one hand, and ask for going back to old, tried and failed ideas on another.

And if the games evolves to serve the market better, of course it is better for many ... may not be an particular individual, but the gaming business is seldom about that anyway.

You don't have to hope.

Isn't Destiny's seamless matching way ahead of the standard LFD/LFG? It is a AAA+ effort, no less.

Well, I only play games on my PC now, and since I have RoS since release, there is no way i can switch to a console version.

However, knowing blizz, the control scheme would be very well done. It is not like PCs don't support console controls (for example, i play Tomb Raider, Sniper Elite 3 and Wolfenstein on my PC using a xbox controller). It would be best if the PC version get console controller support.

Not every game is pvp. Having a pve game, with a difficulty slider, and everyone can enjoy action combat.

It is just a matter of preferences. I like action combat with some physical effects (like those in Diablo 3) but hey, that is not the only way to do combat mechanics in a game.

 

Very bad idea.

Those players who like the pve content but not the pvp content either a) have to sit through content they don't like, or b) find some other game.

then you're missing the point of immersion and RP so it's not something you can understand. 

If they have to involve repeating the same wagon ride for 30 times, gladly. May be you need to look at fun, rather than immersion. It is way over-rated, particularly if the game requires the player to participate in repeated, boring activities in the name of "realism".

Take a shooter from 2000 and tell us how that's different from a shooter today? Take a MMO from 2000 and you barley recognise the gameplay. The easymode, solo, ultra themeparks of today are not MMOs. They are not in decline, they are dead Jim.

May be that is it. I don't see how going through the same wagon ride the 30th time can still be entertaining unless you can magically imbue amnesia on yourself.

There is no such thing as the "new character" .. it is just a part of you. You can't pretend you have not ridden the wagon before (to yourself, yes, you can pretend to others) unless you can erase your own memory.

Game characters are not real people. They are just a way to entertain us.

Problem is now you are making two games really instead of just one and something will suffer.

Suffer a lot less than trying to mesh two incompatible game mode together. Or if resource is an issue, cut one of the two. It is not mandatory to have both game modes in a single game.

I doubt it.

Every wow players i know play Diablo 3, shooters, LoL .. and tons of other games. They may not care about other MMOs, but I doubt they have not heard of LoL, WoT, ESO and so on.
