You hit the nail on the head!! PVP combat oriented alliance picked on an industrial one.....

Also I forgot to tell you that the corp i belong to didnt like thier players paticipating in PVP. That may hve did me in also as i couldve learned a few things.....

They mustve been the lucky ones I wasnt very fortunate.........

Im still gonna play this game. If it fails me ill quit..... I doubt it will though..... too many things to do too many options :)

Story:

I work weekend graveyard shift. So im rarely online during the weekend due to work and sleep...That sort of thing.....

Keep in mind that im still fairly new to the game......

Well I logged in and was getting ready to mine.  I undocked my ship and went to my favorite Asteriod field to mine rich Plag. There was little chat going on in the corp or alliance. I ususally dont check my evemail immediately to my detriment today.

All of the Sudden out of nowwhere a ship with a red star shows up and blows up my mining barge that I worked hard to get and time to train.  I was pissed and was wondering WTF? I escaped w/o being podded. Luckily.

I went into chat and asked about the red star..... I was quickly informed that an alliance over the weekend had declared war on my alliance. I asked why and got "I dont  know" I thought... guess we were at the whim of a random dart toss to be picked on! LOL

While this was going on our alliance leader sent me  a whisper chat message chewing me out because i didnt stay in station and not go anywhere. I plainly told him that i didnt know any of this happened as i work weekend graveyard shift. He gave me the no excuse and I needed to keep up with current events in the game. Of course i dont need to relate the rest of the story as i stated that this game isnt my life etc etc and maybe he needed to get one...... I also told him i pay a sub fee to play the game not sit and just pick skills to train.

Well after that lovely conversation i got chewed out again because i told the guy in local chat Nice work destryying a newb.

This got me thinking.......

1. If your new dont even think about playing this game.... you'll always suck compared to others....

2. If you do play you'll be spinning your perverbial wheels in the mud for way too long.....

3. The game gets in long spurts where its just plain boring....

4. If your Corp / Alliance isnt a pvp one and someone declared war.....your wasting 15 bucks to sit around with thumb up your kister as they'll just  hunt you down if you want to do anything.

Look folks i know what your thinking..... Its a PVP game with realistic consequeses and results and poop happens and you knew this signing up. You would be correct. 

Im a victim of Game progress past and present. I look forward to leveling up and making some cash. I look forward to talking with other players. I look forward to making progress within the game. Very little of this occured within the game..... It was fun to a small point. The game and I failed to truly connect and After all this i decided the game isnt for me.

The graphics i thought were good. Good economy. Some good ppl within the game, but in the end i canceled my subscription. I really had high hopes for this game.

Sorry but will never recommend this game to anyone who likes to see true game progression.....

I did a small comparison to my friend who doesnt. I seem to get better drops and better access to better equipment.

I havent gone into other areas yet, but cant wait to do so.

Its gotten alot better since then!!! :)

Its strangely addictive too!

1. Dark Elf - Blackguard (RvR)

2. High Elf - White Lion  (Some RvR, Some PVE)

3. Human- WitchHunter (PVE only)

Here's my take on why we are hard on MMO's.

I look at it like the technology jumps we have. We expect more and better with each new "generation" of games. Comapnies promises this that and the other with the games. Ppl look forward to certain game only to have it be not as expected. (look at AOC for example).

PPl want this and that, Companies within thier budget attempt to accomodate and cant. They also hype up something that isnt all that. In general ppl end up disappointed....therefore more harsh on games instead of taking them at face value.

The game companies cant do everything. They can think of new innovations and try to incorporate them. They arent perfect nor can they be.

On top of that you have parent companies that dont run things as expected (SOE for example). Coupled with also you have a Companies that Completly changes the game itself (SWG) into something bad.

WOW set a wierd standard and unf that what ppl use to judge a game.

All of this Sad but true...............

I highly doubt blizzard did any true or lenghty pvp testing b4 it put out the pvp. WAR is being tested contstantly for its RvR content. Also with its extensive testing the balance issues shouldnt be bad at all.

According to all that  I have read it wont take an incredible system to run it.  Me personally I can afford a cranked up system , but im sure EA/Mythic knows not everyone can do this. You should be fine.

Yet another dumbass thread about WAR looking like WOW or being like it...................................

Im sick of the troll posts with this or all games look like WOW.

Unfortunately if the good names run out you may get stuck with crappy or silly names.

Hopefully they will allow a 1st and last name to allieviate this problem

The game's graphics are outstanding. It's alot better than some of the other MMO's out there right now!. Gameplay is fun also!

Ill be playing:

Dark Elf Blackguard (RVR)   *majority of the time*

High Elf White Lion (pve and some rvr)

Empire Witchhunter (PVE)
