Well The game does get boring form time to time, but at least you can still skill up on those off times.

I recommend making a combat oriented Avatar 1st. Skill up in combat for couple months then do mining skills if you feel like it.  At least this way it'll be easier to switch back and forth when you need a change of pace.

Dont quit though! Give it couple more months b4 making a final decision.

I'd be pissed too if that happened to me also. Glad i dont play it anymore.

I remember playing and not having a quest reward given to me. When i contacted a GM they told me well i cant give it to you even though they knew i didnt get it. :(

I agree mostly with the op on alot of points except: There are some teens who are Star Trek fans so i wouldnt classify them in a semi negative way.

I totally agree that the game needs to be kept as Star Trekkie as possible. Not catered to a bunch of ppl who know little about the ST universe and to make money.

This game has been in production a very long time compared to other games. From what I've read it looks promising and fun, but until it goes gold I'm gonna be a skeptic of its actual release.  

Here's my take but not limited to:

1. Extremely large open ended world with great graphics!!!!

2. Extremly customisable Avatars.

3. High amount of races to choose from.

4. Crafting system thats much better than drops except from raid/party instances Including customization of those items.

5. customizable housing. (with pets)

6.  PVP with permanent rewards and titles.

7. Skill based system ( non-leveling)

8.  50 (solo) - 40 (party) - 10 (raid) quest split.

9. Meaningful guilds.

10. large amount of storyline content. I want to feel immersed in the game.

Can't wait for the new content! ;)

Personally I loved some of the combat sequences in ST-DS9 and the movies. 

To me combat in Star Trek is a natural part of the show.  Not just the touchy feely garbage you see on some episodes....OK OK alot of the episodes!!

As far as the graphics I hope they clean it up too.

Great post! I noticed when i played the White Lions that the pet was glitchty too. Its nice that they send you the surveys in game so you can let them know about it.

You could be right, but lets wait and hold off on any judgements until more info comes out though.

Im a long time tabletop Warhammer and Wahammer 40k Player.

Im gonna try to get on later this morning. I played it a couple days ago and enjoyed the beta. If i dont get on its cool. It's good to let other ppl try it out that havent before. :)

My opinion only the game looks great! The pvp, pve, and rvr all look and feel balanced and fantastic. Graphics are excellent also. They did a great job of keeping the Wahammer lore look and feel intact. There are some minor bugs that wont get in the way of gameplay and they still have i think 5-6 more gig of stuff to place on your hard drive at launch! :)

Overall thumbs up!

A game is what you make of it so If you do like the game keep playing it.  Judge the game for yourself.....

Problem with posting here on the MMORPG.com forums for AoC is if you actually like the game it strikes a bad nerve with the naysayers.  They have a right to express thier views but it turns into namecalling like getting called a fanboi, funcom bribee, or some other idiotic name.  Sad thing is if you tell ppl to please stop they just call you a whiner to divert attention from themselves because they dont want to stop preaching to the choir or want to keep beating the dead horse.

Lots of ppl know there are major problems with the game. I personally didnt care much for the game and moved on. i made one post a while back about what i didnt like and moved on.  When you read these forums  its the same thing said time after time, after time..... Maybe some of the negative repliers can do something more constuctive like going to work for funcom and change things from within or better yet get a programming degree and make a better MMO.  Some ppl just love to complain.....sigh.....

I take back the comments i made earlier. Eve Online has broken me of the old molding of gentle gaming.....

I was speaking with one of my guildmates on vent and he was talking about this game. Ive never played Vanguard b4. This not based in fact but something he had heard.

Has anyone heard if they are re-releasing the game out in stores with all updates?

Im not sure why, as you can just as easily download the updates upon install.......

Also what is the state of the game and has it gotten better since release?
