How much longer will mmorpg display the Asian porn adds ( poll )

I am reading this from work as well and I'm no prude but I'd have to agree. Other than using an Ad blocker you could always just push Ctrl + zoom in on your mouse with the scroll button. I zoomed in on the site until it cut the edges off and blocked the ads from view. At least all of the decent content on the site doesn't get missed, just the shiney nakey dolls.

Poll: In what setting do you want to play?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 2/06/13 12:30:58 PM
I would like to see a medieval that is more historically based (non fantasy) sandbox. Still holding out for a Mount & Blade mmo in a persistant world with player made factions, castles/cities and politics. Mmmm that would be nice.
Other than that a Mass Effect mmo would be awesome but as it is now, I wouldn't want EA or Bioware (in it's current state) handleing the IP. They would seriously F it up imo. |

I have played since beta and now have 3 main toons that are very geared (Ele, Guardian and Thief). At first I was a bit unsure about the dungeon mechanics but I now really enjoy them and the way my classes can play in a group and have them all set up very differently and have gotten pretty good with each. Me and my ingame friends have a good time exploring, doing jumping puzzles and dungeons. Occasionally we jump in WvW (I can only take it in small doses). I've played around 850 hours so I feel that I've gotten my moneys worth so far and am patiently waiting for the content updates coming in Feb/March. I would like to see more guild content but I do realize that GW2 is still very much a baby and look forward to what the future holds for the game. I'm probably going to throttle back on my playtime and check out some other games for now though. GW2 isn't everything I've ever wanted in an mmo but hey, I've had a good time enjoying it for what it is so far. I am looking forward to a good sandbox type game to play though but no reason I can't play GW2 on the side when new stuff comes out. Just have fun people. If it's not for you then just go play something else.

Does anyone know why AoC never really took off?
General Discussion « Age of Conan 12/10/12 12:35:54 PM
I played a launch and quit a few months later. I went back about a year ago and decided to give it another try. Rather than use my old characters that I barely knew how to play anymore I decided to roll a new toon to level instead. I made a demo and I had a lot of fun. I mostly played solo but I managed to find a guild that still did a few lower level activities. I actually really liked the leveling. The zones and music were very immersive and beautiful. Then I finally hit 80 and I hit this wall in the new zones. Suddenly I had to do the thing I hated most in MMO's... rep grind repeatables. Basically I had to build up rep to get gear to go do hard dungeons to get better gear to do harder dungeons. F-that. I'm a competent player and was actually pretty good at demo but that kind of game play structure just isn't for me any longer I suppose. I like a challenge too but my game time is for doing fun activities, not grinding. So I quit and I'm sure that is the case for other people as well. Not sure if things have changed though since I stopped following the game.

Black Desert Online - Sandbox MMO
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 10/31/12 7:51:51 PM
soooo anyways, does anyone want to talk about Black Desert Online?
Plenty of Western games suck. Plenty of Eastern games suck. I still give the ones the pique my interest a chance. |

Black Desert Online - Sandbox MMO
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 10/31/12 12:56:24 PM
Black Desert is a newly announced Korean mmo currently in dev from PearAbyss. I haven't seen any info about it here yet so I thought I link what info there is so far. It's a sandbox game with action oriented combat system and player housing and mounted combat. There isn't a ton of info out yet but it looks like a good one to keep an eye on.
Preview trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=TNtB5DoJ6OI
From Massively.com Last week we told you about a new MMO called Black Desert. There was a trailer, it was gorgeous, etc. Today we've learned a little more about the Korean import thanks to an interview at Steparu.com. http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Black-Desert/
Some details on housing from Massively.com: Curious about Black Desert's sandbox pedigree? We are too, and it looks as if the newly announced Korean import from Pearl Abyss isn't skimping when it comes to player housing. http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/09/24/black-deserts-housing-system-detailed/

Although they are really fragile I really like Elementalist (got it to 80 last week). I love the fast pace and damage output coupled with the group support and boons that I can bring to a party. I partied with an fellow Ele last night that was running Scepter/ Dagger like me and we were going combo crazy and I frequently saw my might stacked up to 24 and 25 which really helped the Thief that we had with us. My main was going to be Warrior but idk, just couldn't stick with it past 37. I recently made a theif and have that toon at 18 and am really enjoying it as well. My next class will probably be Engi since a buddy of mine that I play with seems to have so much fun with it.

Use Flame Trap- At low levels flame trap is a must! Set trap and attack enemy. Pet will go out and start attacking. Stand behind trap and call pet back to you. As soon as the mob hits the trap, send the pet back out and pew pew mob till dead. Use your knockbacks as needed (#4 skill on Longbow). Try to have your pet attack the mob on the trap. Run up and reset trap if needed. AoE (#5 skill on Longbow) for multimob. After you reach level 7 and can always weapon switch after you blow through your Longbow skills. I've enjoyed Greatsword for this function. TLDR version: Use traps often > pew pew at range > weapon switch and run in to finish of mobs > replant traps > switch back to long bow if needed to keep distance.
HEAL - just because you don't need a heal doesn't mean your pet doesn't. Don't skimp on tossing out your heal that heals you and your pet. With bear I start healing him as soon as 1/3 of his health is down. Keeping him alive keeps me alive in PvE. Have 2 different pets for different roles- Bear is great for absorbing damage but I really like the Birds for quicker damage. They die faster but do more damage than bear. If you are in a big group killing mobs, a pet tank takes too long getting to mobs. Birds, cats, dogs are quicker. (birds can fly up to attack enemies on walls in W v W, other pets can't) I'm no expert on Ranger but these things work very well for me!

Totally worth it but if you get it then you may end up looking like this guy > Battered but happy! |

21 on my warrior and 16 on my elemental. I had no idea that elementals were so much fun until now! My biggest problem is that I can't decide which weapon set to use since they are all so fun. I mostly use dagger/dagger or staff but last night I stuck with scepter/dagger and I really liked it as well...
