Then we have no choice but to assign a point. Only then can we start the violence...
of course there could be a point to violence! Hell, one of the best fights are catfights! and being Hello Kitty Online, it means there is a potential to alot of catfights! Did someone steal your hair ribbon, steal your clothing, rip up your garden? Then let em have it! Pick up your purse, or a shovel, or anything, in defense of your honor! |

Ehh, an Avatar MMO would be hard considering the entire series is about the manipulation of the environment around you, not just the elements. But... if there was going to be one, I would like to see a class system, instead of a talent. There could be base abilities between each class that are shared, but further in they differentiate. Ontop of that, would be elite versions that could be attained through quests, and of course hidden ones for some styles. Water Bender. Clear River style: A basic water bending style that has weak attack, but is able to heal. Gentle Ocean Style: Advanced style that focuses upon healing, with some offensive abilities. ---------------------------------------- Rough Rapids Style: Basic offensive style that focuses on attacking both single foes and groups, as well as hindering movement. Raining Hail Style: A style focusing upon powerful ice-based attacks and rooting enemies in place. would be basics of the water styles, then, of course, Blood-bending could be something that is unlocked, and is a new class entirely that would debuff and limit control of enemies, with some powerful offensive abilities as well, but limited. As the bloodbender cannot do anything else to the opponent besides what they are doing now, and the enemy can only be affected by one bloodbender at any moment. Fire of course would have blue and red flames, the blue being a rather reckless and powerful one, while red flame would allow a mix of defensive and offensive, rather balanced style. Lightning style would be a hidden one. And so on and so on with other bending styles, and of course other ways to attack besides bending.
An avatar system would be interesting, but wouldnt be the easiest thing to balance, since its alraedy shown only one can exist at any time, and suddenly changing into one would be completely unpredictable, and unfair. |

Ehh, I dunno, I think a bunch of headless chickens flailing around could type up better coding using the unending geyser of blood spewing forth from their new neckhole lol. And as to the ad, hell its better than the truth, but! Here's an ad to consider. "Age of Conan, watch us F**k the game up harder than the women of the brothels!" |

mhm, thinking that exact thing. I've played and seen lots of games that have earned their M rating, all AoC has is its off-chance decaps, and what used to be sexual innuendos and some nudity, but trust me, it wasnt anywhere nearly as bad as any God of War game. Hell, I bet GoW3 for the PS3 is gonna look alot better than AoC, gonna have alot more decaps and gore, more visceral and actual satisfying combat, and better lookin breasts, and oh, dont forget the Hi-def sex minigame. And all that is going to earn it just an M rating. The excuse for AoC is probably because its an MMO and falls under different standards. Well guess what, God of war is more accessible to kids than AoC, and with AoC, verifaction of age should be alot easier than it with GoW. Oh well, just another example of the backwards, oddball society that is the USA and the oblivious and incoherent ESRB. :\ |

Have to agree, sounds way too exploitive to me. Hell, on a PvP server this will probably be even worse. PvE its alright, but for PvP? I thought this world was supposed to be brutal and gritty, how can any player be an 'innocent'? They just throwing a carebear aspect in, which wont do much to protect them. And forcing who-ever parties with a murder unknowingly to become a criminal is outrageous. At least in WoW, and some other games, if you party up with someone marked for PvP, you arent forced into it, its until you do something to benefit that person that you are marked, which is how this system should be if they are going to do that. And honestly, I dont think anyone on PvP is going to become a murderer, I'm sure everyone there is gonna be a criminal sooner or later, so the Murderer rank is just useless. Besides, you'd think attaining Murderer, as hard as it is, would be an accomplishment, not a bad thing, in this world. Eh whatever, just another reason not to get the game :\ |

Mhm, certainly makes sense to me. Hell, Microsoft was quick to rub it in Sony's face that they got the NA PS3 Exclusivity out the window and now are releasing FFXII on the 360. So honestly, if the game was doing so well, I think Eidos would of been prancing around and bragging about it. But they arent. Hmm... just thought of this... Perhaps... Funcom, is the Uwe Bole of MMOs? |

some of the craziest BS ive ever heard. Yeah the 360s had an issue with that, but you are blowing it out of proportion. Last checked it was at a 16% failrate, no 100. Dont listen to this guy. Out of quite a few friends who own a 360, only one had it go Redring on them. Its not too common, and if it does occur, MS actually has extended warranties for that incident. Do some reasearch before you mindlessly ramble steve :\
But as for an OS, go for XP, Vistas is a power and resource hog, plentie of whistles and bells to look impressive, but they dont sound too good when used. :\ |

Maybe i missed it, but hasanything official come out that said BioWare's new MMO is going to be Jedi only? If so, I would wonder what the point of grouping, and thus even being an MMO would be. I mean, how many flavors of Jedi can you have aside from dark and light? I am sure there would be plenty of variation and some mechanic would make it worth grouping, but I couldn't imagine it really being anything more then a glorified single-player game with an "online component" at that point. Ultimately, I am in the group that thinks the one of the last thing I would want to be in a Star Wars MMO is a Jedi. There are so many other aspects to the SW IP that are appealing. Maybe in the time period, it would be more appealing. I guess we will have to wait and see.
well Ml, there is the Jedi's who like to cackle and shoot lightning, talk like a psychic, swing their saber around alot, throw people around, or the lesser seen "Heji" the healing jedi :D and both come in dark and light flavors!! so course there is a nice variety! ..... right....? |

rofl most people? Dont know where ya got that, but last thing I'd want to be in a SW MMO is some jedi, too many people would have one, thus it aint fun. I'd rather be a bounty hunter or smuggler :P and to adress your responce towards what currency is used for... Last time I checked the movies or such. even jedis need food. Even jedis need a vehicle, they cant just ride the "force" lightning :p And yes robes are a staple of their look, but it doesnt necessarily mean they have to wear it, or dont wear anything else under it. And not all jedi's can heal themselves, so healthkits are a neccesity, as would be a medic class. If anything, I'm suprised you didnt respond to the list by going "He has the force!! Why would he need to buy anything when he can use the Force?!" |

Because they sold the IP to NCSoft, its up to them now to do that. They are using the money from that, and from other things to develop a few games actually. And saying CO is just COX2 is a crock of crap. They sold COX so they wouldnt be stuck to using its system. The style in CO isnt exactly Cell-shaded, but similar. They are designing it for PC and 360, and are working on making sure it fits. The customization in the game is going to be alot greater than you see in COX. And, for those of you bitching about no villians, actually read abot the game from more than one source. You'll be allowed to create your own villian for your character, his own nemesis. Any similarity spotted between the two can be easily dismissed because A) Its from the same company and B) How many other Superhero MMOs are out right now to compare it too?
edit: I also think that CO will rely less on instancing, not sure though. |

Best way to describe it is "Mind-controlling" your clone, make him do what you want, but he doesnt have access to your implants, just what he knows. So if he dies, all you lost was a jump-clone and maybe a ship, but kept your implants because the real you is safe and sound somewhere else. |

Actually, with some of the achievements, and based on the perfectionistic tendencies that arise through them, you could actually see a rise in activity with old world content. Its Blizzards short-term answer to revitalizing old things. Raiding Oppositions city? Check Raiding old-old world and old world (old-azeroth and Outlands) content: Check
so yep, it is a great idea (and besides, I want to club baby seals... :D) |
