I have no complaints. Keep up the hard work, continue to listen to the players, and the game will be fantastic. |

First of all, I would like to say I am sorry you did not like this game.
Ship Combat -"Basically, the ship combat system is repetative"- Basically every combat system is repetitive. It is only a matter of what you are killing someone with. -"limiting cannonballs is lame"- I agree, you should have a magical armory full of regenerative cannonballs. "I'm sorry Santa, all of your elves have quit their jobs." "What! Where did they go?" "They decided it would be more beneficial to make magic cannonballs on smitty's ship. " "Bloody Pirates!" -"and the mission are almost without reward!"- Sure! If you consider an average of 500 doubloons and enough xp for 1/6 your level at rank 10 lacking. This is of course excluding the occasional weapon, raw material, ability, clothing item, ship deed, and ship ammo(non-regenerative).
Economy -"Economy is a decent concept"- Indeed -"but it is going to be "rediculous"- "But Lord Elrond you have the gift of foresight, what did you see?" "I looked into your future and saw a "rediculous" economy" -"cow costs 1 million gold"- Really? That must be one damn fine cow your imagining someone selling. (P.S. the currency is doubloons) -"due to the risk/reward/sacrifice to get items"- I agree once more Jack Sparrow, you should be able to create a Bermuda sloop with a single oak plank. By the way, 3000 doubloons is rather cheap for a player-made ship.
Avatar Combat -"Avatar combat is a joke"- Haha! Thats a good one!.......... I'm sorry I didn't get it.......... -"and it is so repetitive I often forget what quest I am doing."- Really? I like the way they added balance and initiative into the combat equation ( allowing you not to be hit unless your defense is too low to block, parry, or dodge the attack ). Perhaps you should play another game where your opponent beats you over the head with a massive two handed sword 30 times to no avail. ( while blood flies everywhere, more than his body could surely contain ). Perhaps that would refresh your questing memory.
Missions -"Missions are all the EXACT same, just in different locations"- I think smitty meant to say, "just within the different factions of France, Britain, Spain, and of course Pirates." Actually, the missions are different for each faction. If you would have read, you would notice they all have different storylines. Although I understand how it would be hard to read as you left the game so hastily to post your review.
Open Sea -"Open world sailing is overly long, underly realistic"- You are right, I should be able to sail from Charlesfort to Cayenne in less than a minute. Oh, you want it to be more realistic. We might have to make that trip a little longer. -"mostly an open are for unrestricted gankage by npc's and players alike"- 1. Turn of your PvP flag 2. If someone is blockading/causing unrest in a port you can be attacked within the immediate area outside. Yes smitty, unfortunately you are not special enough to be an exception to player attack.
I would like to finish by once again saying I am sorry you did not like the game. Have a nice day. |

Good point, they do need to make things run smooth. It was always nice playing Dark Age of Camelot and being able to predict a train of Mids or Hibs or Albs in the frontiers whenever you would get a lag spike. I suppose it would be nice if that didn't happen on Warhammer. |

Now I am no expert, but I believe that would be around Pre-Alpha Warhammer Online would it not? It seems folly to base your opinions on a screenshots posted over a year ago. Warhammer graphics have improved over the last year and will continue to do so. Mythic created Dark Age of Camelot (By far the greatest MMORPG I have ever played) and I know they unquestionably have something special in store for us with Warhammer Online. Regarding your dislike for slight blockiness of the models (which I am sure everyone hates as well), there is a solution. They call it it Anti-aliasing Lastly, if you do not like the graphics you could always go get a job at EA Mythic and show them how to make their own game. If not, you will unfortunately have to live with the graphics they deem worthy. P.S. |
