[Column] World of Warcraft: The Best WoW Versions
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/18/12 10:53:02 AM
Originally posted by JRRNeiklot Wrath of the Lich King was indeed the worst. We got a rehashed Nax and were stuck with that for MONTHS before any new content. This expansion also added the looking for group tool, which while extremely convenient, was the catalyst that caused much of the community to become uninvested douchenozzles with no fear of reprecussions.
Burning Crusade was absolutely the best, mainly because of Karazhan, arguably the best raid Blizzard has been able to generate. Beyond that, the raid content in comparison to vanilla, and in fact all other subsequent expansions, was extremely high quality. Many of us will never forget the intensely complicated fights such as Kael'Thas and "Hot Potato" Lady Vashj.
Cataclysm made for a great leveling experience, but raids, at least initially, were a bit too challenging for too long and caused many players to quit due to an inability to progress or guilds to fall apart because of the intense focus required to down the initially un-nerfed bosses.
Vanilla was extremely buggy and grindy for far too long.
I will never play WoW again. |

[Review] Dino Storm: Cowboys vs Dino Action
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/07/12 2:49:56 PM
Mobin Koohestani is the author. Considering this probably passed through a copy editor and maybe even a managing editor, I am sure this article was in far worse shape to begin with. I do agree that some of these sentences are not ordered correctly and do no have a nice grammatical flow. As someone who has copy edited hundreds upon hundreds of articles I can say that these are issues I would personally correct when editing, but depending on the sites style and editing policy, as well as their workload, sometimes such sweeping changes are not feasible. Combine this with the fact that it is likely difficult to get people to devote time to a game like this, especially with GW2 out, and here we are. |

Guild Wars 2: Professional League Recruits 'The Last Pride'
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/04/12 12:15:35 PM
I can say as a gamer that suffers from severe anxiety, competative games such as League of Legends, Starcraft II and WoW's Arena all cause me panic attacks, but I absolutely enjoy the games. Watching e-Sports casts allow me to enjoy the game without any adverse effects.

General: Shadowrun Online Kickstarter Update
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 8/07/12 1:44:26 PM
IMO I believe they set their goal far too high, probably using the other Shadowrun reboot as a benchmark. The fact that this is a browser game probably turned off a large chunk of potential backers, and they are likely wishing they had set their goal to $250,000, as I do not believe Kickstarter will allow you to lower your funding goal.
