Its probably like the Aion reactivation. Your account will show unplayable but you can still login to the game itself. Still deciding if I want to reinstall L2 and see whats happened in the last couple years. |

Its all about getting some Rift hands on for me. Depending on how much play time they let me have, I might not even bother looking at any other game. |

Great article... I love the lore of this game. For the record, Rifts the pen n paper rpg had Lay Line Walkers, not a Rift Walker. |

WAR40K desides to pursue the WoW clone path.
General Discussion « Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online 7/01/10 2:27:30 PM
Where in the interview does he say dark millennium is going to be a wow clone? He said He would like a million subs and that WoW could stand to lose a few of its subs to boost the warhammer 40k subscriber base. Ever MMO developer wants a piece of that WoW subscription base and if anyone says different then they are full of crap. Perhaps you should actually read the damn article before you come here and blast it because WoW was mentioned in the article. Then again I have seen the OP troll just about every game on these forums so this is no surprise.

Rift: Planes of Telara: Class Teaser: The Ranger
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/07/10 4:14:54 PM
As someone who plays a ranger I am not fond of games that make a ranger a pet class. I hope they are more of a small added bonus to damage and not like a summoner type class where you have to have your pet out to be useful. |

Since there was no open beta and I didnt get invited to closed beta I unfortuantely wont be buying it. I dont buy any game unless I have tried the demo/trial/beta. I have been burned too many times buying a game without trying it first. It looks great from the videos/screenshots but it doesnt mean gameplay will be enjoyable. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Companions Details Revealed
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/27/10 5:13:00 PM
So basically everyone will have NPC's to use and therefore wont need other players to group with which will turn swtor into a single player game with chat channels. Also, as far as a variety of NPC companions, you know just about every male player will just bring a slave princess companion wherever he goes. |

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning: Games Workshop Files Suit over Warhammer Alliance
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/08/10 2:40:08 PM
Its not that they are using the name, its that they are making a lot of money off of the warhammer name which Games workshop owns. They made 3 million in revenue last year off of Warcraft and Warhammer. I know if I owned a copyright and someone was making that much off of my namebrand then hell yea I would sue. This isnt a case of a big company going after a fansite. Curse is a multi million dollar company who is making money off of the Warhammer namebrand. Curse also promotes itself as a fansite which is misleading. Fansite implies it is a website run by fans and its only intent is to promote the game and not to profit off of said game. Honestly Blizzard could sue them for the same thing if they chose to do so. For sitation purposes: (3 million in revenue last year) - http://techcrunch.com/2009/12/22/curse-gaming/ (multi million dollar company ) - http://www.crunchbase.com/company/curse (funding: $11 million)

I wish Climax had finished making Warhammer Online. We would have a bloody, dark warhammer mmo instead of what we ended up getting from EA/Mythic. I had also expected there to be one for Dark & Light. Oh well, we know that one ended badly anyways. |

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes: Returning to Vanguard
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/03/10 2:54:35 PM
I would love to still play vanguard. My only problem is there is no one to play with and being in the mid 20s soloing is not an enjoyable option. I play late at night and while I expect there to be less of a population on any game I play, vanguard is almost completly void of people. I dont ever see this changing either as SOE is not promoting Vanguard in any way and I never see them coming out with an expansion to help boost population.. |

While my account is active so that I can get the 6 month wings come the middle of may, I havent really played it in the last few weeks and probably wont play until 1.9 comes out next month. I have 6 toons all at level 30 or above and the grind is killing the enjoyability of the game. I might play for a double xp weekened if it comes up but other then that I hop 1.9 brings some fun back to the game like I have been hearing from people playing the Korean version. |

Vanguard - Saga of Heroes Player Population
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 4/21/10 5:12:06 PM
Originally posted by Shastra Heavy load servers? Hah.. I play on AB which is the most heavily populated server and it only barely reaches medium at peak hours. Having 80+ active members isnt that big of a deal when you have 7 alts who are also guilded or like a lot of people I know, you run 2-4 accounts at once. Then again you could have done like some guilds did and as populations die down you merged with other guilds until you get to the point that your guild actually consists of 10 seperate guilds. Even if you had 80 active players all on at once playing a single account it doesnt mean much if theres only a few hundred people on the server. |

Vanguard - Saga of Heroes Player Population
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 4/21/10 4:52:00 PM
I love Vanguard. It is an amazing game. Unfortunately like several other people I dont play due to the server populations being so poor. Grouping requirements start at around level 20 or so and good luck finding anyone to group with. Sure the game had some major bugs at release that made it unplayable for a lot of people. Those bugs are gone now and the game would be a lot of fun to play if Sony did some marketing to get players to come back and play it. Too bad Sony doesnt care about it and is letting it die instead of marketing the game. |

Originally posted by Nadia I get a come back for 10 days offer on WoW ever 2-3 months. It usually includes access to all the expansions so that you can try it out.. It wants you to buy the expansion and game time once your 10 days is up but you are not required to do so.
As to the topic at hand, you can add me to the"this is a ripoff" crowed. A week (7 days) would be worth the $5 as that is how long it takes me to realize why I left a game the first time. 3 days at $5 is a $50/mo subscription rate (yes I know you only get 3 days per 30 days currently). Maybe they are just making that high so that those people who are actually interested in playing will see that its a rip off and just give them the $15 for the monthly subscription. I wish companies here would do something simular to what we had for the Chinese version of Aion. I cant remember the precise amount but I believe I spent around $6 and got just over 50 hours of gameplay.. Since I was only playing 3-4 hours a night at the time it gave me just over 2 weeks of game time. The more money you paid up front the more hours per $1 you got and there was no expiration nor requirement that you had to use those hours over a consecutive amount of days. |

I dont know about anyone else, and yes it shows that I am old, but when I saw WB and Turbine, my first thought was Looney Tunes Online. I have always wanted to help Wile E. Coyote kill the damn road runner. |
