Going to have to go with the PQ's on this one.. CSM isnt even in a game feature, as much as a vote for the popular eve players... AoC Combo system would be my choice if they had implimented it properly and made it useful.  Ship combat isnt anything new.

The announcement of warhammer 40k online was the biggest story of the year.. Of the choices offered it would have to be SWTOR since star trek was all ready in production by perpetual before they went other and the other stories hold no real interest at all...

My wife wasnt pleased with my gaming habits back when we were dating or even after we got married but she put up with it. She has played a little here and there but usually just says that playing games is a "waste of time". Recently though, she has become a lot more active in gaming since our kids love to play games too.. One day I may even convince her to play an MMO, but will more then likely have to get the kids into an MMO first.

Yes but those of us who have, know our limits and know when to quit. This kid, for whatever reason, decided to go beyond his limits and paid for it. That is why we blame him. His parents obviously werent checking on him to see if he was ok and that is where their blame comes in. I dont see a problem with allowing your kid to game for 24 hours straight if they can handle it. Hell, I was doing that way back when I was 13-14 playing text based MUDs.  When my son gets to that age, I wont have any problem with him pulling off a 24 hour gaming  session here or there, but I will make sure he eats, drinks, etc..

I wonder how long it will be before the WoW Fanboys start saying WoW invented the achievement system and that all other MMO's are ripping them off...

</sarcasm>

Honestly though it is nice to see them finally impliment such a system.  If I wasnt having fun with WAR I could possibly see myself reactivating just to see how many achievements I could grind...

Its about time. Been hoping for a WoT mmo for some time. Now I know some people might be afraid that its a new company who has a lot of people that arent experienced in the field, but taking a look at a lot of recent mmo's does having experience or being a well known company lead to a great mmo? no it doesnt. Perhaps a new face can make something that we can enjoy...

Well honestly who didnt see this coming? Look at how much they are making off of all the WoW products like card games, novels, miniatures, security keys, etc..  People will buy up whatever crap blizzard throws at them that has the World of Warcraft tag on it. So, guess what they figure all the Starcraft fans will do? The same thing.

Dont expect the trilogy of games to be the only thing coming. Not too long after release there will be downloadable map packs for $10, and advanced terran/protos/zerg squads for $5 each. Customize your army and give it its own identity in online play for $29.95!!!  Dont like the lag of our free servers? For only $9.95 a month you can play on our premium SC2 servers which includes stats, rankings, friends lists, etc.. And dont forget to "purchase the complete set of zerg miniatures for $49.95 to unlock bonus missions in your zerg campaign."

While I am not in favor of this move, from a business standpoint it makes perfect sense. You release a game and dont have an expansion or something else within a few months then those customers are going to spend their money elsewhere..  Hopefully for the customers sake, each game in this trillogy is a full on game and not 1/3rd of a complete game.

When not playing an mmo I generally play Dawn of War or Day of Defeat: Source. If I am really bored I will load up some other random game that I might find interesting for an hour or so like Bioshock, Silverfall, The Witcher, etc.. Maybe one day I will play one of them long enough to get to the end but I am in no hurry.

"I put on my robe and wizard hat. "

damn that does look good.. I cant wait to start playing.. I just hope blizzard doesnt do what blizzard does best and delay the release for 2-3 more years...

It truly is a very enjoyable game. While its not my favorite mmo of all time (EQ still holds that title), it definately comes about as close as SWG did at launch. Lots of fun, enjoyable pvp, and all around great gaming experience.  The only real problem I have had so far is sticking to one character. They are all, for the most part, enjoyable so I have been slowly leveling about 10 toons across a few servers ranging from levels 1-30+.

The problem isnt a balance issue. Its a player issues. Pretty much every server has a pretty balanced player base. The problem is that depending on the server you are on there are less players on one side willing to go into the rvr areas.  They are either leveling execlusively on pve or doing scenarios. On Phoenix Throne for example the T2/T3 rvr areas are dominated by destruction, yet if you run over to the order areas there are a ton of people there who are just running around questing or doing PQ's...

Most people are waiting to do open rvr at level 40 so they just grind scenario's untill they get to 40. With addons like superqueue there is little wait to join a queue and for me I switched exclusively to scenarios for levels 15-20 as I was getting way more exp and several nice armour drops. I did some open rvr with about 10 others and other then NPC's we ran into 1 oe 2 actual order players to kill so we decided to go back to scenarios as its faster exp gains.

I was playing mmo's back when they were called MUDs and were all text based. My first real mmo was EQ and while I will always remember the fun I had in it, last time I went back to play it, I was extremely bored with the simplicity of combat... Pull mob, click auto-attack, click 1 of 8 allowed spells every few seconds, rinse and repeat. I think it was the community that was the best part of EQ and well that community I knew is long gone. There are some players on the server still but none from the days long ago.

Its free. Gamecampus who is  running it (http://concertogate.gamescampus.com/) only runs free mmo games. the campus cash is for use in their item shops for each game they have. I probably wouldnt play it myself because I dont care much for the chibi anime games. I go more for the f2p Lineage 2 clones...

I have gone back to vanguard a few times now.. I really love the game, the world, the characters, etc.. My only problem with the game and the reason I dont play it is the lack of players to group with. You pretty much have to group unless you want to kill 10,000 solo creatures to get half way through  a level... I play late at night and unfortunately there is little to no late night community for Vanguard.
