All that nice free stuff is only for new subs. I tried adding the code to my account and the error generated said that it cant be used on a previously active account or something like that. Apparently they dont want to give us anything for resubbing... |

What no mention of Mythica? Man I was so looking forward to Mythica. That game was going to be so damn awesome.. I believe it was cancelled because Mythic sued them over the name and won...

What do you think of the new classes?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 4/06/09 1:07:49 PM
I am loving the choppa, but then it was my favorite class back in Beta days so I kinda knew what to look forward to once they rereleased the class. As far as overpowered, I would hardly consider them overpowered. Sure they can hit 3 targets at once but if those three targets hit the choppa back hes gonna be dead in no time flat. |

The wrong way to play WAR (For me).
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 3/18/09 12:08:05 AM
I have been playing since beta. still dont have a character to max level but I have about 20 characters most in the high teens or low twenties. I really only enjoy doing scenarios because its fast paced and your playing against a compitent apponent most of the time. The PvE/PQ's got boring really quickly. Unfortunately on the 5 different servers I have played on once you get to the tier 3 scenarios no one plays them so I end up rolling another character and occasionally go back to the level 20+ toon to see if there are more people doing scenarios... I am in no rush to hit level 40 so I am sure I will end up with 20 more toons who are all below 25 unless I can find a place where theres a large number of players doing t3 scenarios. |

Phoenix Throne if you like to RP and Badlands if not. Both are great servers with a good population of players during almost all hours of the day. I play on both and have no problems finding rvr groups/warbands or PQ/PvE groups on any tier. |

Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning: Faster Leveling Between Ranks 20 and 33
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/13/09 12:25:18 PM
While I will definately take full advantage of the increase, I really didnt think it was necessary. Is leveing slower then in WoW or EQ2 for levels 20-33? Well yes it is but the problem here is that people are comparing their leveling curve incorrectly. Leveling 20-33 in WAR is like leveling 55-70 in WoW or EQ2. Its not a walk in the park to gain the levels but the effort put into it makes it worth the grind in the end. As far as lack of RvR, perhaps its the server you are playing on or how you are going about looking for a warband or group to do rvr with. I play on a couple different servers and the tier 3 on those servers always has warbands doing rvr. If there is no RvR where your at, hop on a bird and fly to a different zone or start your own warband and let people know your starting one. People will join up. You might only have a small force at first but in no time you will have a full warband if not more. Now when it comes to pve, instead of going to a PQ and expecting there to be a group there waiting for you to join them, perhaps you should be social and start a group. You would be surprised how quickly you can get a group when you let people know your starting a group for a PQ or a dungeon or to simply grind away some quests. If all else fails, then play an alt or go back to tier 1 or 2 content that you passed by to work on getting more tome unlocks. The common theme to these issues is that a lot of the people complaining want a solo player game, when this is not a solo players mmo. From the very start of WAR's development by Mythic, they stated that it was going to be an mmo designed with group pve and pvp in mind. A big part of most mmo's is being social. If you dont want to be social then dont play an mmo or find an mmo that caters to the soloist. |

Perhaps they can use that money to add content and make the game enjoyable... |

My favorite engine? Let me tell you what Melba Toast is packin' right here, all right. We got 4:11 Positrac outback, 750 double pumper, Edelbrock intake, bored over 30, 11 to 1 pop-up pistons, turbo-jet 390 horsepower. We're talkin' some f***in' muscle. Oh right, game engine.. The Hero engine looks really promising but untill a game is released on it, I really cant say for sure. The CryEngine/CryEngine2 have made some great games but all in all I would have to say my favorite is the Unreal Engine. |

Biggest Disappointment in mmorpgs of 2008 poll!
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/02/09 5:26:36 PM
AoC. I played since the begning of beta and always believed they would make things right by release or shortly after. Boy was I wrong... WAR, despite some issues, has been rather enjoyable for me. |

Did they fix the constant disconnects and actually take blame for it or do they still blame end users even though the end users can play any other game without disconnects? Did they add content for levels 30+ or is it just as barren with little to nothing to do that isnt grinding away at the next tougher bandit camp? How are the server populations late at night (after 10PM PST)? I think thats about it. I really enjoyed the game and the first 25 levels.. after that it just got mind numbingly boring and the disconnects/crashes ultimately caused me to quit. |

Why the interest in paying $50/box and $12/month?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 12/30/08 12:32:39 PM
I would rather pay for something thats enjoyable then waste my time on a free to play game that cant hold my interest. When I am playing EQ2, or WAR, or whatever, I am getting my moneys worth out of it because a $50 one time charge plus $15 a month its a hell of a lot cheaper then paying $30-60 a week for a new pc or console game that I beat by weeks end. If they ever make a f2p game that has content and is enjoyable I will play it but so far that has yet to happen. |

thats it.. im going to file a patent for posting text on a website in a threaded form where people can create new threads and respond to existing threads.... I will be rich!!!
Seriously, wtf... why do these idiots even bother wasting time and money when they know they will lose. Too bad NcSoft couldnt countersue for Worlds.com wasting their time. |

There are a lot of us waiting for some sort of news.. As far as a contact, you could try contacting THQ, but probably wont get much more then an "information will be made available soon." message or something like that. Vigil Games primary focus right now is Darksiders. As soon as thats taken care of we might start seeing some much needed information on 40k. |

If you enjoy Vanguard, why not just stick with Vanguard? If they close shop in a year or less then at least you can say you enjoyed it untill the end. I really enjoyed Vanguard myself and would still play but my playing times are really late at night and so unfortunately there is no one to group with on a regular basis and grouping is needed in Vanguard. I do however really enjoy WAR but you have that on your ruled out list so I wont mention anything about it. Theres not really anything coming soon that is Vanguard like. Aion is about the only fantasy mmo coming out that looks half way enjoyable in the coming months. |

Jumping is a part of the gaming experience. I especially like it when you have games where combat animations still work when you jump. Like doing an overhead chop when you jump down a hill, etc.. |
|

WAR is definately the best MMO I have played this year. Now I dont know if I will still be playing it next year at this time, with Aion coming out, but who knows. |

Is it possible to revive a dying MMORPG?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 12/23/08 7:41:26 PM
Short answer... No. For some coming back would mean starting over and they really dont want to do that. For others, they have all ready moved on and are enjoying what they are currently playing. Then there are those who would consider coming back but knowing they servers are dead they dont want to waste the time or effort to login to a barren server where there is little to no one else to play with. While people often speak of returning to a game they loved, you will find most of them would never actually do it. I remember when they first opened the progression servers in EQ and honestly, it was really boring. The EQ I loved and played for so many years just wasnt a game I could enjoy playing now. I would rather the good memories of what was remain and I forget about why I stopped playing the game in the first place.

The most hard-core players are female?!?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 12/23/08 7:18:22 PM
Since when were women let out of the kitchen? and who let them on the internet? /joke Depending on your opinion of what hardcore is, there could be a lot of women who would fall into that category. I know a few who will spend 10-12 hours a day grinding away at crafting in EQ2 and have several level 80 crafters. While crafting isnt generally considered hardcore, they are putting in more hours then those people that grind away 5 hours or so a night at end level PvE content. As long as there is some sort of progression included in the long hours of play, then any sort of crafting, pve, or pvp activities could make someone hardcore. |
