lol @ Bioware launching a hassle free MMO when they can't even nail a single player...
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 11/13/09 7:39:13 PM
Yet another "my life sucks so I think I will bitch" post. Dragon age isnt an MMORPG, it isnt a precursor to Old Republic. Not even sure why we are talking about it here. It isnt even geared to the same twitchy crowd. There is a reason Bioware decided to return to their roots and do a nice indepth RPG game, because they have always worked well for them and people enjoy them. The game as gone super smooth, no problems. OP needs to get a life. |

I think this is step one in Blizzards plan to make this game F2P with a cash store option for better gear. There is no point in keeping WoW running when they release their new MMO. Plus WoW has had a good run and the expansions arnt so much as reviving the game at this point, but are simply breathing life into it to keep it alive a for as long as they can. |

What has been the most boring mmorpg you have ever played/ tried to play? Not the worse, just the most boring to actually PLAY! Which has been the most fun to PLAY?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 4/16/09 9:07:49 AM
Most boring- Eve followed by PotBS. Most fun- Pre-CU SWG followed closely by WoW |

What have they done to quest difficulty in Northrend?
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 4/06/09 8:28:49 AM
I love it when people blame WoW and Blizzard for the fact that no other company can make a game worth playing. Makes me chuckle. Personally I blame WoW for global warming, the upcoming zombie invasion and the fact that the Easter bunny isnt real. |

I remember a great RP community in SWG early on. The game, for all it's faults, allowed you to RP fairly easy. I personnaly developed a odd bond with my toon while I was playing. Believe it or not in the early days of WoW, before it became popular and attracted the idiots that plague it today, the RP servers were full of people who actually played the toon as if they were them. It was a very different game then what it has become. So yeah I still RP when I get the chance, the problem is finding that small group of like minded individuals in the big world of fast action, gear driven, toons, who actually make the experience worth while. |

Why would we want a game filled with the same limited role class system that every other failing game seems to follow. Making a class only a 'tank 'or a 'healer' does nothing for game or story other then limit the world in which the game thrives. In the Star Wars universe there are no healers unless you use drugs or see a medic. And I dont recall Chewie screaming "I'll tank the storm troopers Han you use your blaster and DPS!" Leave that kind of non-sense out! |

This just out: WOW fanbois dislike Darkfall, confused by lack of quests
General Discussion « Darkfall 2/19/09 8:50:39 PM
Once more we see people comparing a game that isnt out to an established successful game. Hey i was really looking forward to DF until I watched the recent you tube beta video. I understand what DF is supposed to be, but until it actually is you dont have a leg to stand on when compareing to any other game out there. Let this game come out and prove itself and then come back and talk smack about WoW and those of us who enjoy playing it. |

I really fail to see how calling a game a WoW clone is an insult. Mabey you havent noticed but WoW is the most successful game on the MMORPG market. Problem is so many of you think it is "the cool thing to do" to bash the game that you fail to see it. All the games you hoped would topple WoW have failed, time you learn that the players want a game that is fun to play not just fun to look at. Old Republic is looking great to me and I cant wait to play. Bioware is a proven company and something need to step in to replace the dead horse that SWG has become. |

Kinda funny I wasnt really fishing for a key, just haveing my 2 cents worth. But now you have me wanting to give the game a go again. So if you have one to give... theido1@yahoo.com thanks |

I will have to say I tried a 14 day trial for eve and it isnt enough for that game. I was still just trying to understand what the hell was going on at the end of the second week. I would try it again for 21 days though even then is that really enough to gain the depth of this game?

A sincere apology to the MMO Industry; You were right!
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 12/31/08 10:39:40 AM
Well instead of crying here, get off the computer go to the local game store and by a rp game and some dice. What you want can be found in those old pencil and paper dice games, but you wont find it in a mmorpg on the computer, not ever going to happen. But that takes effort and imagination, and mmorpg gamers are losing those traits. Sad to see.... |

Pirates of the Burning Sea: Avatar Combat Revamp Interview
News Discussion « General Discussion 12/20/08 11:54:19 AM
Sounds to me like another CU or NGE, dont fiix fix the core problems just make changes in hope that the people wont notice how broke things are. Smells like an SOE plan to me. I beta'd the game and saw then that it wasnt going to stay afloat, which is sad cause in theory this game sounded great. But they did so many things wrong that it amazed me, I had to keep playing into launch just to see how much they could screw up. Kinda like watching a car wreck, hard to to stare at the tragedy. These companies need to quit trying to breath life back into the dead and let things go. |

Yet another WoW review from a person who isnt even currently plaing WoW, and obviously hasnt played all the classes. If you think the Shamans most powerful asset is frost shock you have never played a shaman. And as a Shaman I can give most classes (warlocks will kick the crap out of me) a good run their money, it really isnt the class it's how you play it. I will agree that the gear grind sucks but I find that most people who make that kind of statement (me included) dont have the time or desire to sit and grind for the gear. I have played WoW since it first hit the store shelves and I wouldnt be so bold to give a review on every class and every aspect of the game, the game changes a bit with every patch and with every person you run into. |

Say goodbye to your 10m players WoW!
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/19/08 9:33:38 AM
Man I really get sick of these "death to Warcraft" posts. Does it really bug you that much that WoW is successful? Do you have stock in games that compete with WoW? Grow up children. If you dont like a game dont play it. But to spend so much time and obsess over it's demise (which by the way is a long ways off) is most unheatlhy, not to mention a bit weird. |

Interesting topic. Though I am not a fan of tax dollar wasting lawsuits I have to support this one. The developers of these games need to take some responsibilty and start releasing quality games in the beginning. Even single player games are getting in the mindset of 'release a half finished product, then if it sells good we can always patch it.' If a game promises something it needs to live up to those promises. |

I have to agree and disagree here. It wasnt just the CU or the NGE that that hurt SWG. It was the way they treated us about issues that really needed fixed. From the start the game was filled with bugs and glitches. It had problems but we all managed to work around them and enjoy the game, I mean hey it was Star Wars. The CU and the NGE just gave us something of substance to bite. After all there never was a fancy abbreviation for rubber-banding. But for me the biggest killer was when the jedi (as in anyone could become one) were set free. That one addition hurt the feel of SWG more then anything and brought in a player base less concerned with the RP and the dynamics of the world and turned SWG from a mmorpg into a game. |

Any mmo you would have been happy to play as a single player game?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 4/08/08 4:43:41 PM
POTBS would have made a better single player game then an MMO. But I have to agree all of them could be a single player game. The reality is you get out what you put in to the game. People complain that you can solo WoW and that is a good thing. Nothing worse then being forced to wait around to find a group just to complete a quest ,only to find out the group you finally got into is full of people who couldnt get hired on at Mcdonalds. I also will agree LAN play can make a game much better then having to play with 5000 idiots, sadly few games offer actual story line play in this mode. But as always that is just my opinion. |

Has racism always been a part of MMOs?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 4/03/08 10:46:59 AM
Honestly why do you care what some other person thinks about the toon you choose to role. Do what what you want and dont let the idiots, who have to compensate for their RL miserable existance by being bullies in WoW, dictate your enjoyment of the game. I agree that the elfs could look a bit rougher, but me playing an elf on WoW doesnt cause me to become like one in RL, nor does it reflect who I am in RL. This mindset in WoW that you have to play your toon like the forums tell you to kills the game. To the OP I say roll a belf and have fun with it, if some (insert age here)old, zit face, pot belly, no outside social life kid, wants to make fun of you for your choice, /ignore and move on. |
