Originally posted by Lord.Bachus Its been confirmed that all classes are available to both factions.....but their respective race may not be revealed just yet ;).
As for the OP, I actually highly doubt it. Reasons being that the combat is movement based and relies heavily on dodging, double jumping, and sprinting. Pets would have no way of mimicking that without being super overpowered. So I doubt it. |

Originally posted by Arcticnoon I get ya. And I may disagree but thats just opinion points. Have you ever tried EVE yet? That is the MMO to live in if your all about markets since literally ANYTHING possible done in the real world can be done in EVE. Give it a try, its has the most depth of anygame ever. |

I understand OP. I really do. I'm done with EA games for the same reason. I was lucky though and didn't play FFXIV at launch so I'm giving ARR a try. My question to you is, if the player base for this re-release gives it great reviews and you haven't found another MMO would you give it a chance?

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Cinematic Trailer
General Discussion « Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn 5/24/13 12:11:17 AM
I get where you were trying to go with this, ya know classic anime show intro music. But unforantly that is not Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy is classical orchestral music done on an epic scale. This best example of music for Final Fantasy is all the renditions of its main theme. Ohh and the finale to FFXIV v 1.0....holy shit that trailer literally had me tearing up and I never even played the game!!! Didn't know a single character but the music just pulls you in!
IMO this is music for Final Fantasy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h542YbZuwkQ |

Originally posted by WellzyC GW2 had a completely different movement system though. It was dodge, melee, and range. Where movement is going to be much for important in Wildstar thanks to all the different telegraph shapes/sizes/types along with dodge, sprint, and double jump. I think having this many abilities fits perfect with such a movement skilled based game. |

Originally posted by ciid Wait you'd rather pay money than play the game that will give itself to you for free? You get to keep your lite account and upgrade it with the key Raptr gives you. Sooooo, basically you already own it if you do it this way. |

Ewww god I hope not. But its a good possibility if its what they want their gear to progress as (please no). LFG is for sure already in since its a huge convenience, so they may adopt GS too. But personally, yuck and I hope not.

Originally posted by Thresh Actually in the latest patch notes they released they said they re-implemented Autoattack. Now they can always remove it again if it doesn't flow well with their combat system, but from the gameplay it doesn't look "button mashy". You have to aim all of your skills with the telegraph system and are constantly moving out of enemy telegraphs, so I don't think button mashing would be optimal to survival.
But I don't really know anything since I haven't played it yet. Just theories. |

Originally posted by Mathadar Acutally this may be the best route. If Warplots and Raiding require a sub I think it would be a win win for both devs and players. Devs can still make money like Anet off box sales and those who only want the solo and small group dungeon play don't have to sub. Versus the hardcore content grinders/devotees in the PvP and Rading scene would pay subs and keep their small part of the community free from the drifters/leechers. Not a bad idea when you consider everything. Doesn't AoC do that now with their content? |

I'm trying to understand the appeal of this game

Originally posted by Zapzap ^Pretty much this. Wildstar devs have stated their 40 man raids are for the top 1%. Those guilds whose members do not put in the extra time and effort to know the strats (if possble), class, and show up on time are being assholes to the other guild members and do not belong in that raiding scene. Now I understand many seeing that as eliteist and jerky. Call it what you want, but those 40 man raids from vanilla WoW had the strongest community and made the game so much more enjoyable and satisfying. No, its not for everyone, and Wildstar knows that too. They are developing the normal dungeons and from what I remember 20 man raids targeted towards the less hardcore crowd. To top it off, the story and heavy lore part of the game is the soloable content. They are keeping that out of the 40 mans so that everyone can experience the same story content (a big problem with vanilla WoW). We won't know for sure how this will pan out, but imo Wildstar is doing it right and focusing on bringing back guild communities that many of the "new" mmo's have negleted. |

People actually still go to IGN for review scores? BAHAHAHA I thought we all learned how THEY operate. Look at scores for ME3, SWTOR, and well any other mediocore or dissapointing EA game and see how high they score. IGN is the fox news of gaming reviews and journalism. Why would anyone go to that site is beyond me.

My best mmo memories are from Asheron's Call and Vanilla WoW. I too, cannot wait for this game. A new game with the good features from current mmos, the good features from past mmos, and removing the bland and bad features of the past. Lets hope for the best.

Do people not realize MMO doesn't mean RPG? Just because it is an MMO doesn't mean it will have the features of an RPG. For a TPS, Defiance in my opinion has a very good amount of RPG elements and replayablity associated with it. Ohh and its a flat rate of $60 with optional DLC. No different than Borderlands or other such games. Ohh but you do get to play with many more people (massivlely multiplayer online). Seriously peeps, for $60 the game is a solid 8/10 TPS. It has its issues, but most of the crap I see on here is from burnt out raiders and content consumers that need their next gear treadmill to be satisfied.

Why has every group become 4 berzerker warriors/mesmer?
PvE & Crafting « Guild Wars 2 3/30/13 9:06:38 PM
Not sure who youre playing with, but only the hardcorest of guild dungeon runners do these type of optimal speed runs. I'm a guard and find groups all the time, even for CoF 1, that don't require that setup. Its only because they can run path 1 in 6 minutes with that setup....wow a whole 3 minutes faster. If they at that elitist in not inviting you to group, you are probably better off ignoring them.

^Link to all dungeons' guides. You decide if they are challenging or not because that is a subjectve determination. I think its challenging enough, especially if you are undergeared still. World events aren't challenging at all with enough people, but they are entertaining. |

Originally posted by Scalpless ^ My conclusions as well. SPvP needs some diversity which hopefully comes by the end of 2013. WvW is fine as long as you have a good group to run around with rather than running with the zerg.
But I play mainly for the world events and dungeons so I may be biased. |

Personally I'm just not into the setting. I've always been a high fantasy fan so this just wasn't my cup of tea.
