Ah, see, I dont know about before release... but before I experienced the craptitude of aoc, I was partly defending it, saying give it a chance, dont knock it yet, let funcom prove they are incompetent first... stuff like that.

I'll usually defend a game til it proves to me its anything else. Ive been defending Warhammer for weeks now, and Aion, and I cant say much about TCoS since Ive still got a beta account with them...

Im not sure of what you speak. Im not exactly a warhammer fangirl... I played AoC since the day it launched up to level 20 and a bit beyond. It was fun, but it was meh at the same time. It belongs on a console not a mmo...

Im more of an aion fangirl. Sure I like warhammer, but Im not a raving mad fangirl for it. If it has flaws or fails miserably to live up to its hype like aoc did, you can be sure I will be annoyed and will be vocal about it. Same goes for Aion.

All I want is one mmo that lives up to its hype and promises and shines above all else. Something that wont make me toss the game box in the trash and move on in disgust.

Anyone coming to this game wanting a wow clone will be sadly disappointed. Im not a beta-tester, but judging by the videos, its not going to be.

Not every mmo post Warcrack is a wow-clone.

OMG Tabula Rasa is a wow-clone! They both have monsters, quests, instances, cheesy pvp and guns! It must be! lol

Im honestly surprised that the game is still running with as much trouble as its having. Probly relying on NCsofts big sellers to pay the salaries of the team in charge of TR.

The Pre-garriot trailers looks alot neater than whats out there now. I especially loved that harp spell/skill that that one character used.

Thats an odd statement considering that Brad McQuaid was an open critic of (what he considered) World of Warcraft's simplistic design.

And further, these mounts have existed in the game long before open beta.

The idea behind these mounts (and many more that they have not released yet) is that if you see a creature in the world that looks like you could ride it - you probably can.

Youre reading more in to my statement than whats there really... it just struck me as kinda cartoony to be able to ride nearly anything for some reason. And what better example than the grandmother of all cartoony games? xD

Pretty much covers it. All the real "mature" content is being removed from the AoC gameworld, and theres no sign of new "mature" content coming in.

The rating is silly imho. PG13 at best.

The rating needs to be reduced to Teen... and that bombay video was funny.

I dont think Warhammer will kill Warcrack. It will put a dent in their subs Im sure, but make the game into a ghost town? Nah. Warcrack panders to the lowest common denominator, and that will always draw in players and money.

WOW, otherwise known as We Oughta Whine... is nothing compared to Lotro. If I had to buy one subscription and that was all I could buy, ever. It would be lotro. Sure the classes make me cry from their staleness, but the richness of things to do that isnt raiding or gear grinding is great.

Lotro has:

Housing sucks, but only because of the sloppy hooks system.
Town clothes are much nicer, and theres two appearance tabs.
You can turn off bits of armour, shoulders, helm, gloves, backpack and shoes.
Crafting is more varied and interesting, there are crafting quests.
Music, you can play music, not just listen to it!
Graphics are beautiful and not cartoony.
Titles galore, sorta like War's tome of knowledge.
Exploring is fun and theres lots to see.
There are some RP tools with the game.
Maturity level is pretty high.
Even on the non-rp unoffical servers, you more often run across names that arent leet-speak.
The story is the original epic fantasy.
Only experienced the harvest festival, and it sadly wasn't that fun...
Expansions up the waazoo, and all of them free.
Current cost: 9$ a month, of 200$ for a life-sub.

War has:

No housing. Period. And doesn't look like it ever will.
Very little in the way of town clothes, no appearance tab (yet).
Can only turn off the cape and helm, so you have suffer with hideous armour made by a colour-blind clown.
Crafting is snore-worthy and yet another grind, can't use half what you make except for cooking. There are no crafting quests to speak of.
No music, Bard class suggestions get met with disdain and outright hatred/fear.
Graphics are horribly dated, ugly and cartoony. The scenery on the otherhand while cartoony is pretty in its own right... but still in need of an update. Yes, I know its so the game can run on outdated machines...
Very few titles, most of them PVP.
Exploring is minimal, and often met with banning if you go into places "you're not supposed to be."
No integrated RP tools that aren't broken with every major patch.
Maturity level lives in the gutter.
RP (ie real) names, in Warcrack? Hah! Very few, and even the best server, Moonguard is over run with lolwutters and leetspeak names.
The Story is bleh and often ret-conned.
The events are about as fun as walking into a doorjam.
One expansion and it too was dull and  boring ultimately.
Cost: 15$ a month.

I was in lotro beta, been coming back to it off and on since then. Played warcrack for two years, if you dont count the 3 to 6 months Ive taken breaks from it. hehe

AoC recieves the killing blow from their own creator! Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy at its finest! Now they cant even sell the game because its so full of left-out content and mis-labeled... stuff that its not even the same game they were marketing!

No boobs and no coarse language, soon the gore will be gone as well! Guild Wars has indeed met its match! xD

I think most mmos are like the anti-christ of community effort. lol They give you levels and promote it as a multi player game. Invite your friends, or join your friends! And then when you do finally join, they are max level and the game is gimped in regards to helping your friends level up to your area. *looks pointedly at warcraft*

So in a way, certain mmos do not make the game multi-player friendly. Its basically a single player game with multiplayer elements and a 15$ a month chatroom.

These things:

Eye-catching beautiful art.

demons and angels, Ive always liked that in a game for some reason.

The game looks like it could be lots of fun.
