Dude, have you checked out the new game that was added to mmorpg.com yesterday? The game is called Earthrise. Its all skill based, no classes, open PvP with player looting. I read alot on the website lastnight.

No! There is an ever greater PvP mmo in the works called, Oh my garsh POOP! Everyone powers up on  jumping up and down after drinking milk and eating suasages. Its all open PvP, skill based and full player looting. Casters cast liquid poop and warriors use hammers, kind of like a hard turd on the end of a stick.  If you power up and then cast or swing a poo hammer you have a chance to crit somone. Full loot is awsome since you can loot milk and suasages. I really like the idea that if you swing the poo hammer the more skill you gain in the poo hammer. I hate the casters AoE's since they make everyone around them slip and fall. Yep and also large scale sieges on player built and owned piles of poop! AWSOME!

The Oh my garsh POOP! beta open starts very soon! So keep your eyes closed tight!

But UO is completely different from GenericQuest garbage where you do task #4087 and get your reward in location #248. I think EverQuest was terrible because of the lack of guidance the game offered you while at the same time barraging you with a bunch of tasks to search for mobs/npcs you have never heard of in locations you don't know how to get to. It was just way too much, especially for me where I was used to logging in, thinking of something fun I could do, and going to do it, instead of having NPCs tell me what I should do and where.

Guild Wars fixed the broken crap that was the totally confusing and frustrating quest system that was EverQuest, I dunno if they were the first, but they were certainly successful. You knew exactly where you should go and who to talk to at all times, and you got there simply by clicking an icon and running a little ways. I much prefer that over EverQuest, but IMO the GuildWars campaign was just to give people that couldn't PvP something to do on the side, lol.

I'd still rather have UO where I can log on and my order of the day is something I just make up, and getting to the next highest level or getting the next hottest item hardly matters.

Ultima Online (was GLORIOUSLY overwhelming) BACK IN THE DAY! Todays UO is nothing but an item based, gear based pile of EA games poo poo! You might as well play WoW if your going to play todays UO. Its a shame that alot of people didnt get to play UO back in the day, I feel bad for you all. Trust me, if I had the powers of Goku or Superman, EA games would not be standing for the evil sin they did against classic UO.

This game is going to be awsome! I feel like I want to lay a hot milk fart in the face of Darkfall for making me wait 9,000 years. This game is going to release (way) before DF does.

The game might release in another two to three years if it does. I really want to play DF in the worst way. If you are a member of the DF forums and ask any questions about the release, beta or anything, your post gets locked fast. No doubt the DF dev's like to string people along, I hope its not to the death. Just pisses me off that they cant give any real updates like other mmo dev's give to waiting people. After what???? 5, 6 years, they need to give us that have been waiting for years some real info. I also think that they have somthing very bad to hide by the way that they behave. Dont know about you guys but I feel used up and spent.

the game is a grinder a to z. They try to make the game seem like a sandbox mmo but fail. The PvP system is a joke. Oh well. It seems like each week a dozen new free to play asian mmo's hit the states.

They really don't feel like games anymore.  I begin to lose interest weeks into the games because its all just the same.  To have any of fun you have to endlessly raid, or join a huge guild, or craft for 4 hours a day.

Maybe it's because I started off with UO and I'm spoiled.  In UO I didn't have to anything, it was great.  Even at only 4xGM I was still fine in pvp, or pve, or whatever.  You could solo, you could group, but none of it was ever forced upon you.

I never get close to the end game in MMO's anymore.  What's the point?  Work really hard for a few months to get to 50, just to work really hard a few more months to get that awesome gear, just to have to it all over again in the cookie cutter expansion.

There is no story in mmo's, none of it ever seems to make sense.  Why are giant rats attacking the city and WHY does the town guard want me (a lowly level 1 farmer or something) to take care of it.  It's all so mediocre.  Little kids could write better stories than these.

These "games" just arent a release for me anymore.  From EQ2 to WoW to LotRO it's all just the same mindless WORK.

/Agree, I was a classic UO player and quit after they made the game for girls. All these games are item based, gear based, level based and that all so popular grind. I hate the forced questing, lame unbalanced RvR PvP and instances can eat a salty turd. I have been waiting for Darkfall Online like so many other classic UO players for so long now. The only people that are going to get pissed by your post and flame are young kids. All and I mean ALL the damn mmo's on the way out are like you said. Anyone that flames your post is a 100% mmo noob.

And yes, who the FOK wants to come home from work to go back to work on a lame arse mmo? NOT ME!

Bad idea. Not one person here gets along well. Even if you had a website, ventrilo it still would not work. For a guild to survive on a game like shadowbane / Darkfall you need to have the upmost teamwork, friendship and organization. You will never get any of these people here on mmorpg.com to follow guild rules and so on. Best bet is to join a established guild that you need to apply to join. Random recruit guilds are a freaking joke. I smell /fail

SCO / Flysis is 100% more than just a game that lets you fly. I do think that the Flysis beta is a joke. Whats the point of beta if players wont be able to really see or test whats what in the game if they wont even hit level 50 before the beta is over. The beta will be a true waste of time with the harsh grind only to be wiped.

Blah, same crap.  Man does the DF team need to get on the ball. Oh no! they are not going to give any updates for a while.... who cares? its the same crap in each update. I have been waiting for DF so long it seems forever and its the same news, same info over and over again. If the DF team does show a video, they will behave like they did us a favor.  gpotato Space Cowboy Online was closed down for good. gameforge bought the rights to the game and forced gpotato to close down sco. Flysis is now going to be run by gameforge along with all the updates and goodies gpotato never gave sco fans. Im glad gpotato got pwned, they ran sco like crap.

In 3 months they will say, Hmmmm... the human starter zone has many lush trees.

I wish that the DF team gave better updates. Each Dev update is somthing like... oh the arrows shoot fast or junk we already know about. As I read updates on other mmo's, they give good updates of what stage they are in during the making of the game. Makes me wonder somtimes, why did they even tell us about DF if they dont want to give the fans any real info on the game. Im one that can wait on many things for a long time but DF is starting to make me have doubts that it will not be released before 2010. I also do think that the DF team is  full of BS at times, we are not that stupid.

All I know is that they showed the game to us so many years ago, built a fan base and just keep stringing people along like dogs with nothing to show. If I was a DF dev I would sure the hell to do my best to keep the fanbase very happy and not tell them after six years..... the arrows shoot fast. If they dont want the game to fail if it gets released, they need to keep the fans happy. I already know for a fact that this game will go down like Shadowbane did. Real PvP is not as popular as it was back in the late 90's like classic UO. I hope that they do release DF this year although ive said that the past couple.

Im not a big fan of asian item mall grinders although... I was a SCO player. Flysis is going to be alot of fun since the game is going to have all the updates and so on that gpotato never gave SCO players. Flysis will be doing a wipe after beta I just read on the forums. For those that can get a gear to the mid 70's can get alot of fun from the game. The game offers a great item drop rate, skill based PvP, non stop PvP at all times and oh yes.... those mother ship battles. Im not going to play Flysis beta since the game is a grind and I dont want to waste my time only to be wiped when it goes live.

My Fav gear is the M-Gear, hard to level although at very high levels you get all the groups - buffs / heals, able to summon people to your location and are one strong mofo to kill - reverse engines. I took my M-Gear to about mid 80's on the Trimus server BCU in the SCO days. I also took my I-Gear to mid 70's agi build and didnt have as much fun as I did playing my M-Gear. B-Gears imo are for noobs with no PvP skills, not sure if they will be nerfed in flysis. I did play my good friends A-Gear account from time to time and they are strong as hell on the ground but are just sitting ducks in air.

Im not going to be playing AoC, not my style of game. I think that mixing PC and console players on the same servers is just lame. Can you imagine all the fking 10 and 15 year old scum that will infest the console side. Sheesh!, lol thank god im not going to touch AoC. Im waiting for Darkfall Online... and ill wait till the end of time for it to come out. I feel bad for the PC people who have to deal with all the console scum.
