Tier1 affects tier2, tier2 affects tier3, tier3 affects tier4.

So the amount of influence tier1 has to tier 4 is really really LOW :) it has no direct influence on tier4, only through affecting tier2 and so forth ..

Order will have these wannabees: Legolas (shadowwarrior) Gimli (ironbreaker)"wow hunters with a twist"( White lion)  "Paladins" ( warrior priest) Van Helsing with the cool hat (witch hunter) Archmage (who dosn like the sound of that? its a mage)

Destruction will have these wannabees: witch elf (rogue lookalike) Black Guard (perhaps one of the "best looking" tank so far) Magus (look he got a disc!) Chosen ( it looks like a human!) Squig herder (looks like a wow-hunter + its a small cute goblin!) Shaman.. (just the name of it gonna come some wow-kids go berzerg!)

at least that is what i think new ppl / wow-kids gonna chose from. thats 6 classes from each side.

personally i also hope, that the nxt wow expansion gonna be released around the same time as WAR, so we dont get all of em...

remember, no matter what polls on this forum says, there will allways be ALOT of other ppl playing the game that dosnt use forums like this. i like to refere to those ppl as "less-hardcore gamers" and my experience is, that they tend to play the good guys aka order / alliance / whatever. and my experience from other MMO´s  tells me, that the most popular race gonna be Humans, because, well, the less-hardcore gamers just prefere humans or if there are a "funny" race, like in D&D online. the robot thingie. But ofc we have to wait and see, but humans are gonna be my guess....

just show her how pretty the highelfs live, how green the forests are, and how clever they seems. should be enough ladida pixi-fairy to win her over on your side :P

it was told in a podcast, that no matter what spec you chose as a tank, you will allways be able to do your job! so if you chose 2h and spec for it, you can still be a great tank by equipping some other gear and shield ! :D

all we know is, that WAR will hopefully be released within the nxt 6months. But as we has been told many times, they will NOT release WAR untill its perfect. thats why they never officiel made a release date. remember, fall is also just a est. release! :) So pls ppl, stop making more threads about release date!!! seen at least a few every single week, with that same "i know the release date becouse X-games told me" :) Only the officiel release date counts, when its on www.warhammeronline.com , anything beside that is just guessing ! :) 

really liked the screens, but as some others i have my concern. first of all, it looks great, and sounds like fun. but i have my doubt. ofc the game isnt about crafting, but tbh only 2 main professions? ofc you can chose from 4, but if you want to create some items yourself, you need to pick between 2. imo they should create 1 more profession or 2. like cooking, where you could add potions several potions to the food to make it even more powerfull. or the classic miner/smith, not to make useless junk, but to upgrade heavy armor / weapons by adding stats or magic to it.

2 choices just sound to weak for me, but ill have to wait and see. im not a big fan of crafting at all, but there have to be "real" choices...

Witch Hunter and Witch Elf are the assassin/rogue-type careers of WAR. They even use combo systems similar to the WoW rogue. i remeber they claimed that those clips was "bugs" from some abilitys..  they didnt comment more on those, beside telling, that it was not supposed to work like that ( stealth)

about classes, its more a question, do YOU like being dps er hybrid class? since there will be nore "pure" healer or tank class. as a healer you have to do dmg to be able to heal, and as a tank you can punch out some ok dmg even as tank spec, so you can pvp all you live without being nothing but at targetdummy :D

and for healers, would you like to stand on distance and shoot spells, or do you prefere to be in the middle of the battlefield, slashing ppl down and heal at the same time ? :) its actually simple to get an idea of what class you gonna try out (first at least, there is sooo many great looking classes )   :D

would be sad to call the trolls on this forum for "trolls".. they usually leave a pathetic comment with nothing true in it whatsoever. war=wow .. like omg, take at least 1 sec looking at some pic. or read just a bit about the game befor comparing. and what i dont ´get either is why ppl even bother to reply in the post, they just feed em. if noone did that, they would die and stop posting crap that does nothing but annoy and makes ppl wast time reading their lame-ass #%"%##%#!!!!!!

i recall Paul saying, that WAR was gonna be like Vegas. and since "kings" in the major citys is going to be PQ , same goes for Keep Lords (public quests) i would expect all oher bosses in PvE dungeons to be the same. There more you contribute, the greater chance you got for getting the items you want.

and i also like that system alot! tryed D&D for a few hours on a friends computer, but it wasnt the game for me. But what i was told about the loot system back then, it rocked. and as another poster wrote in this thread, its a fair system, and you avoid greedy ppl. would really like to see a system like that in other mmo´s , and i think they made something similar if not even better for WAR :)

I have to agree. They will make a great rvr experience. it would only be stupid to make a rvr-game that sux compared to their earlyer products as DaOC (was my first mmo as for some of the posters in here) DaOC was great, and it can be hard to make something better. Bit i have faith in WAR, think and hope it will become even better! :)

so, call me old fashion, but i dont care much for oceans of blood in a game. to me it just seems a bit "cheap" to throw in som blood, so ppl can get happy. take GTA for an exaple, it just seems like cheap special effects with no purpose. im not saying they should leave it out, but I like what i have seen in all those clips avalivble on yotube. The whole game got this dark, sinister, allmost gothic feeling.  and by adding more blood and gore perhaps even decapitation, its just more work for your computer, perhaps you even have to go out and buy a new one. and who would do that, perhaps the game gonna turn up being pretty crappy, unfinished etc (yes, just had to bash AOC just a bit at the same time, tryed it and went LOL)

i remember hearing it in a podcast, that you can do that really early in the game. there should be a "main road" from the starting area to the nearest capital, where you can travel to the other areas. But why would you even do so, if you ex would be an dwarf, why not fight your own war ? :P ;)

as in other MMO´s i bet its the "weakes" class that gets to do most dmg. and the sorc / brightwizzard got the suicide mecanism, so i bet they will do most.

First of all, im not trying to bash AOC, just to get it straight from the start. I havnt played the game, only watched some pvp clips on youtube, and i have to say, that it look REALLY great!. With that said, ill move on to what i really wanted to say when i started to write an reply:

Lots of ppl started their career in mmorpgs with WOW. its a rather ok game, and the system req is rather low. that attracts average ppl with average computers to the mmo community. The problem is, that average ppl dont want to go out buying a new computer because a great game with a bit high sysem req is released. They want to keep their 2year old computer and play other games, that their computer can handle.

I for one would love to try AOC, but i study at the uni atm, so i cant really affort a new computer :S and i bet there is more ppl out there with the same problem, not having enough money, or dont want to spend em all just for 1 game that might not be as fantastic as it looks.

That leads me to my next point ( and pls, no, im not trying to say that this game is better - its still not released) but im afraid that more people will go for Warhammer Online when its released. By the information given at this point, it seems like the system req not gonna be as high as for AOC, and my guess would be, that it makes the difference.

im not afraid, that any side will be dominated completely. as more ppl here has stated, there is allways some that roll the underdogs. and just because the polls here shows, that many wants to be destruction, it dosnt mean that its going to be so! not everyone uses this forum, and i bet there will come some kids along who wants to be the "good guys". so there will be kids and "hardcore" ppl on both sides, and destruction gonna be played my average/hardcore ppl as well :D

just wait for the officiel release date. EBGames has been wrong so many times, and its just their guess. Back with "the burning crusade" ebgames in my town was 9month wrong in their "officiel" date that they gave ppl.

So stop these guessing games, it will arrive in fall 08, noone , and i mean NOONE knows more than that...

No, not your idea.  Your idea is great, and would add flavor to the game.  I think it's rediculous that the ESRB, the media, and other organizations have absolutely no problem with a game that revolves around killing fellow players, one that frequently shows graphic blood and violence, and rewards you for butchering your opponent... but when it comes to smoking or drinking "we have to think of the children."

 

Put it in the game, it'll add flavor.  If parents don't like it, don't let your kids play it.

ESBR is really a joke. as LordAiden says, blood, gore, killing random ppl in games is nothing to worry about.... ehm.... but smoke and beer is ? i doubt that some kids will start smoking or drinking just because they have seen it in a game. If it was the case, why arent there more random killing going on (besided in America haha) we really need ppl to start opening their eyes, and stop the moral bitching. kidst today know, that there is a huge difference between the virual and the real world, end of story.

I would really enjoy a game, where you could smoke, drink, and do whatever you can do in the real world. it just makes the game feel more "real". take for exaple good old fallout2. you could become a pornstart, proboxer, selling slaves, become an addict etc.
