Are they just like World of Warcraft and LOTRO type mmos that use WSAD controls? Or is it poiint and click and such???

Hey man I just started the game as well a day ago or so and if you want to group up and such go on the Odin server and look up Duilyon.

I am still instaling the patches as we speak but thats the server i plan to be on and the name of my character..unless its taken.

Since its hardcore group oritented it would be good to get a group going: D

I installed play online and It will nto work my OS! An error comes up and it says it does not work with my OS, which is Vista...

 the only reason i am hesitant to play this game is becaues i am worried that the community will be dead and lifeless.

Also how much content is still being played? are there raids at like 50 and 60 that people don't do now?

Awesome can someone reccomend me a server to play on that is pretty populated and that is mostly English speaking pop? I don't want to create my character on a shitty server and never be able to reroll..

How does the combat / instances / raids stand up to World of Warcraft and other big MMOs?

I am not looking for a WoW clone I am just curious how it stands up to it .

Is the story just as good as final fantasy 6 and such??

Would it be incredibly hard for me and my friends to do all of the content? There will be only 3 of us? Is there still a lot of people leveling up and such?

So me and my friends are trying to decide if we should get this game because we are getting sick and tired of LOTRO and World of Warcraft. So before we buy we wanted to make sure we were not getting into another Wow and LOTRO.

So here are my questions

1) Is it very grindy? Will we have to grind for hours to just gain 1 level?

2) What are the classes / races

3) How do you move around? is it the regular WSAD configuration?

5) Is the combat fast or flow paced?

6) Is there crafting and is it worth doing?

7) Free trial? Where can it be obtained?

8) What do you do when you hit the cap? PVP? Raid? Instances? World bosses?

9) any worth while pvp??

10) Is the game populated?

they have added...

raids) Helegrod and The Rift

instances) countless Quest instances and the 3 instances in Annuminas, reputation dungeons

Areas) Tal bruinen, Evendim, and high pass and Ettendeep in the moors. Also revamped Angmar.

PVP) Added Rangers and Trolls to pvp and pvp gear!

quests) the book quests and hundreds of new quests.

Misc) Clothing system, barter system, housing, chicken play, reputation, barber shops and some other stuff i forgot probably.

LOTRO is THE most sand box game out there! It lets you do what YOU wanna do! It does not force you to do anything.

If you dont wish to raid then dont! You dont have to raid to get the best gear! You can Craft or just do small instances or just QUEST! Or go farm deeds! But you do not have to farm deeds its totally optional.

Hell go PVP! the gear there is just as good as raid and crafted gear! Go make your OWN content by RPing, go on your OWN quests through the ruins of annuminas. Hold RP events at your HOUSE.

Hell if you want to go to Chicken Play and have some fun! make a monster character and level him up! Go grind your reputation up for one of those nice new horses or search the AH for some nice looking gear and make a new outfit!

or wait till next patch when they add fishing >:D You can be a master fisherman!

This game offers so much more then your average MMO. Sure it has generic combat but its still fun for me. This is the most refined MMO out there. 

This game offers a lot with its sheer variety of things to do and RP community.

For me Leveling up was half the fun with the great quest story lines and instances. I suggest you give it till level 20 till you quit...

It always baffled me as to why people hate SOE, they have done NOTHING wrong!  Please, I beg to be "enlightened" as to what THEY DID!

Oh wait, I know what they did. They made the FIRST great 3D World! Everquest. The game that made MMOs a huge creative genre where players could get together and quest, RP, and well..do anything! So why the hate? Everquest revolutionized gaming. Jesus christ why hate them?!?!

Everquest 2? Great game. They have done little wrong with that game.

Well I am currently downloading the Free Trial off of the DDO website and I must admit that I am truly excited! I am currently subscribed to Tabula Rasa and I am totally bored with the lack of content in that game!

I have some questions about this game and I would greatly appreciate for your help!

1) Does this game have any crafting system? I really enjoy a crafting system and the one in TR was absolutley horrible and is one of the reasons as to why i am quiting.

2) I have never played DnD in my life; will it be hard to understand a lot of the gameplay elements in this game because of that? will I not understand how equipment works and such? Do they have a good tutorial to teach me about this?

3) Is the game all dungeons? is there any solo content? What is the level cap?

4)  what is a good server to be on? I enjoy ROle playing so what is the most populated RP server?
