[Interview] General: Bless: Uncovering the Enigmatic New Game

I've paid and tried my share of beautiful looking MMO's that turned out to be rubbish and a waste of money. I'm not falling for smooth slick screenshots anymore.

After being a veteran in wow since beta 8+ years ago I decided to give GW2 a try and close my WoW account. Never has I been so annoyed and disapointed over a game as I've been over GW2. I have many MMOs on my PC but I will for sure go back to WoW after spending my time in GW2 which to me was just... terrible and annoying.

WoW is dying slowly but more expansions to come!

The good thing about MMOs is that there are so many of them that one of them likely fits you. Not everyone but you don't have to worry about everyone as long as you like it. |

MoP is it bringing back lots of people ?
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 9/26/12 3:45:21 AM
I seem there are quite a few of you who seem to think you speak on behalf of players who left or came back and even know percentage of this and that. Fact is that you are just pulling numbers randomly out of the lower part of your back. Don't do that. there are no numbers out so don't bring it into the talk.
MOP is not what is killing wow. The game has been losing players for a long time. That will continue. MMORPG has had an interesting debate going on for a couple of days about your favourite expansion of wow (original wow, THB, Cata, or?) It seemed like a LOT of those who took part voted the original wow high on the list. Lots actually had the original version of wow (vanilla) as number one on their top 4 list.
WoW has moved too far away from the original wow and no expansion will bring the big numbers we knew back. |

[Column] World of Warcraft: The Best WoW Versions
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/25/12 6:02:57 AM
As an ol'timer in WoW (started during beta 2004) I can honestly say nothing beats the original WoW (which you call vanilla). The major PVP raids we had going on all the time in Hillsbrad (South Shore and Tarren Mill) still stand out as the best fun I've had any any game and expansion. The fact that you had to actually work your way through areas and not rush three quests and then head on to the next area as you do today. PVP was awesome too because a lvl 50 actually stood a chance against a lvl 58 or even a 60 from time to time. Nowadays you meet someone with 100k more health than you.. That's why I only vote for the original WoW and won't return until they launch a server with that version, and that version only. |

[Interview] The Secret World: Funcom - About the Long Haul
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/23/12 5:22:29 PM
Funcom seem to make a lot of mistakes when making games. TSW seemed like a decent idea but it drowned in weird stuff that didn't appeal to as many players as they thought. And that's one of the things with Funcom. They don't seem to really know their customers and the market they operate in. They have a bad name in the MMO world (I know many hate them, me included). That's a bad place to start when making games. |

[Interview] Heroes & Generals: Interview with Jacob Andersen

This is a game I think will have a great future ahead of it. The game itself looks great and the mechanics seem new anf fresh. I'm sure they will strike gold with this one if they continue to focus on the player experience.
Well done. |

Originally posted by Greyhooff In my opinion that is absolutely not the case. I tried and got so bored with the grind that I gave up. Quite often you meet the same kind of mobs at different levels and have to kill the exact same amount. Other that that it's "take this - go there - thank you - now go kill 5 of those". If anything TERA taught me that I should be happy for the older MMOs I already play. |

If a friend of mine asked me for advice wether to buy or stay away from this game I would tell him to stay away. It's a nice battle system idea but a poorly done conversion from the Korean market to the western. |

I have been working with games since 1998 and there's no doubt in my mind. TERA will die quickly. Numbers seem to drop fast. I logged in today to check it out before my subscription runs out (and won't be renewed) and I saw TWO players online. TERA did exactly the same mistakes as most other gamiing companies do in the MMO genre. They promise new things but when it comes down to basic it really isn't new. Granted... their combat system was new but other that that it was just more of the same. In their news section they tell about all the new things they are going to launch, such a battlegrounds. Really? New? |

TERA: Our Official TERA Review
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 5/25/12 4:04:20 AM
I gotta admit that I find TERA boring. It's looking good and all but the grind fest quickly got to me. I lost count of how many times I had to go kill the same kind of mobs while leveling up rather fast and I won't be renewing my subscription after the trial. |
|

I paid for the game and I REALLY feel f*cked over by this En Masse shop. There's NO CHANCE in hell I'm going from my trial to recurring. I might even charge back my money. Stuff like this really pisses me off. |
|
|
Why not use the guild forum for this? It's there for that one and only reason :) |
|

I'm not sure about TERA. Been thinking about buying it but to me poor support is a huge no go. How are you guys experience with the support at TERA?
This page kinda freaks me out a bit: https://tera-answers.enmasse.com/pages/home |

General Discussion « The Secret World 4/22/12 7:04:52 AM
Sorry to hear about your troubles with the terrible company, Funcom. It is, to me, by far the worst company in the MMO industry and there's no chance I'm ever playing and paying for any of their games again. They screwed me over big time during AoC. |

It was quite amazing that they actually managed to mess a game with so much potential up so bad. It was like they went for a failure from the beginning (thoughI know they probably worked hard on it). Lack of leadership must have been the problem because you can't make such a bad game without bad leaders. |
